Just completed the wine tour, and I am very impressed! Only cost us $ 35 each and we got to tour the winery, have a taste test of 7 wines, keep the glass we used, and then to finish it up we had an amazing lunch! The tour guides are very knowledgeable and energetic! We have time to look around, ask questions, and able to take pictures of everything! The waitress was amazing as well! She got our food out quick, knew exactly what to do with our online purchase and was very courteous! Will definitely go again! If you get a chance, please check this place out!

Got there at closing time they had a beautiful selection of wines they also were decorated very nice I wish I would have had time to do their taste testing. We went there in June and unfortunately they did not have any Moscato for me to try. I guess it’s more of a fall wine because it’s sweeter. I might have that backwards lol… but either way they didn’t have it.

This was a fantastic experience. We decided to do the extensive reserved wine tour and tasting. Our host was Brian and he was perfect. His humor and charm made the experience perfect. I wish I just an ounce of his wine knowledge. I highly recommend this specific tour and tasting, it breaks you away from the crowds and immerses you in a small group in the cellar for a more imitate tasting. Was a fantastic experience.

I love Wine!!! I recently went there for an Annual Design Event. I was really excited the event was taken place here. As you arrive, the scenery is just Gorgeous. You drive through the never-ending Vineyard fields. As you arrive to the place they have the parking lot to the right and the buildings to the left. The buildings reminded me of colonial times, very traditional. The place was decorated beautifully with lights and candles and had an earthy, but elegant feel to it. Tried their wine a lil bit of the white and their red wines. They were really good, I couldn’t get enough, but of course I had to be responsible, bc I had to drive back home alone. Their appetizers were very appetizing, they had jumbo seasoned shrimp, meatballs, and spinach dip accompanied with special pita-like crackers. Yummm. As for the main entrée for the night, they served white meat chicken breast with a gravy sauce, with grilled asparagus, and potatoes. It wasn’t too bad, it was good. Their staff were very friendly and helpful. This place would be great for occasions such as Weddings, birthdays, reunions, Award Ceremonies, etc. I’m definitely gonna come back and try it their winery tour!

Awesome place to visit! This was our first visit here and we had a blast. The winery tour was extremely informative and fun, one of the best tours we’ve been on! Afterwards we visited the restaurant for lunch and enjoyed two glasses of wine, a small appetizer, and two sandwiches for under $ 50. A great venue and we plan on visiting again!

I like wine. I like to think I have a pretty good palette. If I am drinking casually without pairing I typically go for the heavier reds. My wife likes dry whites. We came here with our three year old as a final activity before heading home from a very busy vacation in Williamsburg. This was the only activity that wasn’t exactly kid focused. We took the basic tour which I found to be great, especially with our situation. I wish I remembered our guides name but I I do remember that she was originally from long island. We thought she was both a knowledgeable and attentive. The tasting was good. I did not care for everything but then again I never do at a full tasting. The sweeter wines seemed especially young. I liked their dry rose and claret. We ended up buying a case to bring home. Our guide let my wife and I taste one more(two schilling red) after remembering a question my wife asked during the your tasting. I say go for the experience alone. You can have lunch their as well. My dad is a bit of a wine connoisseur and he always says«you like what you like». We liked this winery!

Great little winery. Very good tour and tasting. Good for a 1 – 2 hour event. Wines were very good. Small restaurant beside the winery in case you want to chill out for a while.

I wish I could say more good things about Williamsburg Winery. I visited over Memorial Day weekend, and while I understand it was a holiday weekend the winery was clearly understaffed. The tasting took forever because there were clearly not enough pourers for the amount of people visiting. We had long gaps in between wines without much discussion on the wines. The wines themselves were good. I enjoyed quite a few wines, and all of the wines I tried were pleasing enough. I was going to purchase quite a few bottles, but once again the winery was understaffed and I was unwilling to wait in a long line to purchase the wine. Only one cashier was working, and the line was quite lengthy. Both my friend and I wished to purchase wine and were dissuaded by the long line. I’ll definitely go back to give it another shot, but I’ve seen wineries that were much busier and handled the crowds better and more efficiently. It really detracted from the visit, especially when I wasn’t even willing to wait in the long line to buy the bottles.

This place is so romantic and beautiful. Visited here 5÷6÷2016 and I had an amazing time. We enjoyed a tour and tasting. Our tour guide was very nice and we learned a lot. I forgot her name. We got to taste 7 wines. I felt like I tried more because what i didn’t like my boyfriend did and vice versa. It was $ 12 pp for the tour and tasting. Everything lasted like an hour. After we were finished my boyfriend and I decided to take a nice walk around the beautiful grounds. There is an hotel and a restaurant as well.

I have now been here three times, as three different groups have dragged me here, and I haven’t enjoyed any of my visits. Everything is very mechanical, they just want to pour your wine and shoo you towards the purchasing area so they can bring another group in. They have won a lot of awards but I have learned by visiting so many wineries that to compete they must pay a decent amount and be able to provide an unreal amount of wine so many wineries(especially the small ones, which are almost always better) are unable to compete with wineries like the Williamsburg empire. Skip it and head down the road to New Kent or Gautheir, you aren’t missing anything here.

What a lovely place to spend an afternoon and taste some fine wines. The Williamsburg winery is a beautiful Vineyard with such a nostalgic old world feel. Christina was very pleasant and provided some nice information about the wines as she poured them. What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Best part, you get to keep the glasses too! And the staff is sooooo nice!

Extending the valentines celebration with my wife we went to the winery on Presidents’ Day with a wonderful ambience of snow. It was a very peaceful white drive down to the tasting hall. Snow didn’t deter people away. As soon as we walked in we were very nicely greeted and informed of how everything worked, this being our first time wine tasting. There were two wine tasting options. We chose today’s tasting options with 7 choices of wine out of 14. Great experience all the way around. Wine glasses were included and military is half off of tasting. We ended up buying a bottle of plantation blush and château la borderie vin moelleux.

I have been twice, the first time was horrible(in which somehow my first review was removed) and decided to give it another shot just to be nice. Again did the tasting and tour, and again had the most condescending tour guide, who honestly did not know much about what he was talking about either. Having worked at a winery before, I had some simple questions about productions, and he spoke down to me and then didnt answer my questions. I am sure I couldve learned more about a stereo system from a deaf and blind person, than I learned from their associate about their facility. At one point he was explaining types of corks, and how they reacted with the wines. He proceeded to tell us that plastic corks can taint the taste a little(which they do) and that the wine we would be tasting today would be corked with this… The wine they did have us taste, was at best 2⁄10. Many were produced with high residual sugar to cover flaws, or was slightly sour. Now, this was the standard tour and tasting however, I feel like if you want people to have a good look at your wines, you shouldn’t give them the lowest quality stuff you make on the standard tour. I did buy their Gabriel Reserve, one of their higher quality, and still was not impressed. They are a large producer of VA wines, but yet have lost sight of quality in the process. They have a great facility and venue, but the wines are what counts. Sadly, I will not be returning.

We’ve been coming to this vineyard for a few years and have grown to the love the place even more. We’re now wine club members and its totally worth it to be a part of the club. Quarterly wine shipments or pick up plus quarterly pick up parties. We also get to taste wine free of charge, anytime we come. The staff is super friendly, a special shout out to Gail and Joe who make a lot of our visits awesome and we always leave learning something new. They give reserve wine tastings and also tours, the estate is beautiful and they’re constantly changing things. Alas we haven’t done the reserve wine tasting but I see that in our near future!

We came here for the reserve tasting where you taste the higher level more vintage wines all for $ 15 a person. We’ve always done the tour with the tasting and not just a tasting alone. But with just the tasting you bring your tickets to a large room where you hand them to a worker and they start the process. It takes a while bc there is a lot of people there and about 3 workers so after each one you gotta wait about 5 or 7 minutes. My favorite was the 2012 Adagio, it was amazing. My boyfriend who doesn’t care for reds really enjoyed it as well. They were really busy bc of 2 weddings being set up so it was a little hetic but hey I love wine tastings.

Upon arriving we were greeted by a lady at the front desk whose sole purpose is to push you to away. She wasn’t very personable and it was a foreshadowing for the rest of our visit. Once we made it to the Tasting room we were finally acknowledged by the gentleman and told to go over to the other side and wait. There were 5 other groups Tasting and only one person helping everyone. Due to this he was unable to spend time and discuss the wines with you. He gave you a 10 second description and moved on to the desk group. Sadly this took away from the experience even though the wines were satisfactory we could only think about the service we were receiving. We most likely will not be returning.

We ditched colonial Williamsburg at the end of our vacation and came here for a change of pace. We are very glad we did! Our tour guide was polite and seemed pretty knowledgeable. The $ 10 tour included a history of the location, basics of wine storage, walk through the cellar, see where the product is packaged, and a look at the ball room. It was fun to learn about the barrels, where they source the wood, how long each process takes, etc. You might want to bring a sweater because the cellar is cold and you can spend several minutes down there asking questions. At the end we had a tasting with 6 or 7 samples. Don’t come on an empty stomach! Overall it was a great little adventure very much worth the investment. We may come back at some point to tour the grape fields.

I visited the Williamsburg Winery on Christmas eve while I was in town visiting some relatives. We were planning on having an early dinner at the winery restaurant, but since they were closing early that day for the holiday I chose to just do a wine tasting instead. For the wine tasting you could choose from two different levels. There was a tasting menu for $ 15, and a separate one for $ 6. With either choice you received a glass to use for the tasting and then to keep. I chose the $ 6 menu and tasted 3 whites, 2 reds, 1 blush, and a spiced wine. The tasting bar was in a separate area from the retail area. When I arrived there were a few other groups already in the middle of tastings and two attendants providing the samples. I was promptly given my glass and my first sample and then had to wait a few minutes for my second sample. The attendants each had their own groups and made the rounds through each one. Even with everyone starting their tastings at different times they did a great job at keeping track of what wine you were to be tasting next. The only downside is that is got pretty busy and it ended up taking me almost a full hour to taste my 7 samples. The staff was very knowledgeable about each individual wine. They explained the flavors very well and gave ideas for pairings for each wine. They have an extensive variety of wines to choose from. There is definitely something for everyone and for every budget. I ended up taking home three bottles that day: Governor’s White, the Virginia Viognier, and Two Shillings red. It was tough to make a decision about which to buy, so I’m looking forward to going back and getting some more. I’m also planning to do the tour and reserve tasting.
