Loved this place! Centrally located to many of the Hatfield and McCoy historical sites!

Last minute, fly-by-the-seat-of-our-pants, gypsy-style travel — so glad we were able to stay at this historic bed and breakfast! We had a really hard time getting service to research a lot of places during our week long touring with the ATV’s on the Hatfield & McCoy trails, so it was wonderful to finally hit a town that had service for Verizon phones and be able to find a little piece of heaven like this. Also, we’ve never stayed at a bed and breakfast, so this was definitely a first experience for us. The hosts were so welcoming at the late hour we came in, and recommended a few restaurants in town for us to get dinner and relax at. We had the privacy of a hotel, and the comfort of a home, all at the same time. We will definitely keep this on the map for our future visits– you should too!!!

We had an amazing time !! The room was awesome. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel at home. We were traveling with our Service Dog and it was a breeze they welcomed us with open arms are, of course we stayed in the Devil Anse(William Anderson) Room the history was amazing the comfort is great(we happened to stay because my husband is a Chafin which happens to be the great great great grandson of Levicy Chafin Devil Ance Wife but all I can tell you is don’t miss this opportunity the place is spectacular! the owners are AWESOME and you don’t want to miss this why stay at a hotel when you can be at their home and have breakfast at anytime of the day !!

We enjoyed our geocaching experience in town. Unfortunately we were surprised by a change in ownership when we arrived. There were some issues with our reservation and had to wait around to get let in. The new owners are super nice and went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. Hopefully soon the edges will get smoothed out and we look forward to a return trip.

A fairly large group of us, all geocachers, came up from Georgia to enjoy the caching and history available in the area. We stayed 6 days/5 nights and had a wonderful time. Wendy is so friendly and welcoming and the rooms were exactly what we needed in a central location. I look forward to my next stay here! If you are a light sleeper, bring some earplugs because this is an active railroad town… didn’t bother me. I was reminded of staying with my grandparents in their small town when I was a kid. We arrived on a Wed. night and missed the local restaurants in Williamson(where you can get a beer with your meal) so we ended up on the Pike County. KY side with fast food row and that side is a dry county. Look up Starters and Sazon in Williamson itself!

This place is awesome. Wendy is the hostess with the mostest. The rooms are just what you want at a B&B. I’d give it ten stars if I could. I’ll be back many more times. So much so she might have to change the name on a room.

I love to gripe and complain and point out others flaws. sadly, when i left after my 4 day stay at the McCoy House, I had nothing to say. The owners were nice and accommodating, the rooms were welcoming and comfortable, they are close to one of the best geotours around. Not to mention a stones throw from great hiking and kayaking. If your the type that enjoys finding negativity, dont bother staying here. you too will end up leaving unimpressed.

My wife and I were on a 24 state, Geocaching Road Trip and just knew we had to include Wendy and her great house into our itinerary. If you’re a fan of the infamous Hatfield & McCoy history, this is definitely where you want to lay your head when passing through. Wendy’s historical knowledge and the work she’s put into the theming of her house are incredible. And her charm and personality make you feel extremely welcomed from the moment you step inside, as if you were part of the family. We stayed in the Devil Anse room. It was very cozy and comfortable. We wished we had an extra day or two to spend there. And if you’re a fellow Geocacher, there are some caches in the area to keep you busy. –whtwolfden
