This place is one of the beat parts of Williamston. Cheap movies to take your kids to! It’s a great locally owned family business that is a perfect compliment to the charming little town.

Seriously? A new release movie for $ 4, large popcorn for $ 3 and a large pop for $ 1.50? I’m in heaven. Awesome theater, small town feel.

There is no comparison to the Sun Theater. Yes, one may travel to other theaters that are closer to home and experience the«blow your ears out speakers,» chairs that recline all the way down and 3D adventures, but when it comes to price, good company, and hometown support THISISOURFAMILYPLACE! We lived just across the street and loved being able to walk down to the theater and see familiar faces. The prices cannot be beat and neither can the company… what more can you really ask for?!

For the price you can not beat it. It is old time nostagia with some modern convienences. Wish it could be modernized for the price.

The ticket prices for $ 4 for everyone. That’s hard to beat nowadays. Throw in that their huge tub of popcorn costs $ 3; I’m hooked. The theatre is huge, holding about 330 people. It has plenty standing room, however since it’s so dated, the bathroom is tiny. Well, the ladies’ bathroom stall at least. There is no knee room while using the potty. That’s probably the biggest downfall of this theatre. Sure, not too many people make it out to Williamston, but I’d rather go there and spend $ 20 on 2 tickets, 2 tubs of popcorn, 2 drinks and 2 candies, then just spending $ 20 on 2 tickets at other megaplex theatres. Also, parking is free. Always a nice perk. They got Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel opening day, and it is definitely the cheapest ticket for that movie right now. And for what they’re charging, you could probably afford to see it twice with the kids.

My parents are cheap and we came to this theater a lot when I was a kid. It’s a local gem that serves a very important need: movies for people who can’t afford movies. And it has that adorable old-fashioned small-town feel that I haven’t found anywhere else in a while.(My Williamston friends would hate me for saying that.) The popcorn is good, too.

Overall, you can’t beat the prices here. At $ 3/ticket, you’re getting to see movies at less than half the price of a regular theater. Oh, the concessions are not expensive, either. For $ 11, my wife and I can see a movie, get popcorn and drinks. They usually get movies in pretty quick after release, within 2 – 3 weeks most often, even for big releases like Spider-man 3 or Iron Man(for example). The website lets you know what is coming a few weeks in advance, too. That’s cool. Two complaints: 1) No ice for the drinks you buy; that’s just silly, for your soda gets warm during the duration of a movie; 2) June 2008, I was in the theatre as a tornado approached town, and the management didn’t even announce to us that there was a tornado. So, when the movie was over, I walked out into the middle of an oncoming storm that scared the carp out of me: power was out all through town 30 seconds after I left the theatre. You think they could have warned us?
