Great place to stop and rest when in the area whether you are doing the art, hiking or antiquing scene in the area. Looking forward to spend another weekend and enjoying fabulous almond pancakes! Two friendly cats are part of the house and they are as sweet as can be.

True Story: I have never been to the Berkshires. I, who has lived in Massachusetts her ENTIRE life, had never witnessed the beauty that is the Berkshires. Well, Joe and I decided that we needed a well deserved break and decided to head up to the Berkshires for Columbus Day Weekend. I decided I wanted to stay in a Bed & Breakfast, because we had never been to one, and well, it seems natural to stay in one when you are in the Berkshires After researching a few places I settled on the House on Main Street. I talked to Timothy, who owns the B&B and was excited when I found out they had one room left. There were no big frills about it, just a bed, a sink, and a shared bathroom downstairs. The place is really cute. Yeah, you have your floral curtain and kitsch doilies on the night stand, but the place is really warm and inviting, and I love it. It is a huge house and they manage to cram a lot of bedrooms in it without feeling cramped Timothy and his wife Dawn are fantastic. Not only are they some of the nicest people ever, but they make a pretty awesome breakfast. Day 1 consisted of Almond pancakes and extra crispy bacon. Oh man, that bacon was tremendous! The almond pancakes were very tasty as well. Day 2 were Blueberry pancakes and sausage, and both again were awesome. Timothy even asked us if it was ok that he makes pancakes 2 days in a row. I love pancakes, so I didn’t complain. It can be a little awkward being around a table with complete strangers, but most of the people we met were extremely nice. While waiting for my parents to pick us up, their two cats came over for a visit! Oh my goodness are they ADORABLE! I forgot their names, but they are very friendly, and if you aren’t careful, they will run out the front door. One of their cats only has three legs, but you would never be able to tell with the way he bounded down the stairs. For two nights we paid about $ 230.00 which I’m not sure if it is expensive or not, but I believe it is totally worth it, because Timothy and his wife really care about you and their breakfasts are just amazing! Williamstown is a great place to go to if you want to get away from the city. When I come back to the Berkshires and I want to stay in the upper corner of Mass, I will definitely be returning to the House on Main Street.
