Dr. Denhaese and his team are fabulous! After months of failed conservative treatment for a spinal surgery, my physician recommended I go see a surgeon and suggested Dr. Denhaese. I was apprehensive, as spinal surgery is always risky and can often times make the problem worse, but my experience at Axis made me feel a lot better. I was able to get in to see the surgeon rather quickly(after only a week or two of calling to schedule an appointment). I was pleased with this, as I went to a spinal specialist for injections and it took them 2 months before they saw me, then it took another month and a half for them to even give me any treatment. First I met with Dr. Denhaese’s physician’s assistant, Joseph who was absolutely wonderful. He was kind and he took an extensive history of my injury. After a few minutes, he went to get the doctor and he came in. The doctor looked at my MRIs and knew immediately what my problem was. He explained in detail about my injury and what it involved. He told me I was the prime candidate for surgery and the next available spot was 6 weeks later(this was because of the backlog at the hospital for pre-op, and no fault of Axis at all). He told me the risk for the surgery was minimal and he would use a minimally invasive approach, so there would be less of a healing time. This calmed my fears and I was scheduled to have the surgery. I was pleased to find out that Dr. Denhaese operated at Kenmore Mercy. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Catholic Health System and between Dr. Denhaese, his team, and the staff at Kenmore Mercy, I knew I would receive the best treatment. I am terrified of hospitals and needles and medical procedures, and the doctor and his team made sure those fears went away. Everything went smooth. Dr. Denhaese and his team offer excellent care. Dr. Denhaese and his physician assistants have excellent bedside manner, practice great empathy, and truly care about their patients. I highly recommend going through Axis if you need any type of spinal surgery.
