We stumbled upon this place by chance. We ordered the calamari for an app and it was perfect! Melted in your mouth! They served it with a lightly fried lemon slice… nice touch, great taste. We both ordered steaks, cooked perfectly. The service was great… we will be back.

Tabree is a great restaurant. The waitstaff was prompt and courteous. The food was all quite good. Only reason for four stars is small portions, except the dessert. Was very pleasantly surprised and happy they had a set menu!

My wife and I had dinner at Tabree last night, our second visit. It was really something like a 3 ½ star experience. I don’t usually round up, but I’m making an exception because we both remember it being better last time. Very nice looking dining room. Excellent selection of top shelf liquors. Service was very, very good. However, their wine list leaves a lot to be desired with very few bottles that were less than $ 80. The whole place is generally just a bit more expensive than feels justified for what it is. On the positive side, the cheese plate was excellent. My wife also felt her horseradish encrusted salmon entrée was exceptional. I had the coq au vin and both the chicken itself and the wild mushrooms were expertly prepared and delicious. Unfortunately, the spaetzle side dish was over-fried to the point of nearly inedible(why does anyone fry spaetzle anyway?!?) On the less positive side. Escargot appetizer was just OK and unusually small. My wife’s salad included wilted lettuce. Crème brûlée dessert was not amongst the better ones we’ve had. Served oddly warm in places and cold in others and with a «cap» that was a bit to thick. So a mixed experience overall. The highs were higher than the lows were low, and we had an outstanding experience on our previous visit, so I’d say we’ll probably give it another try.

Out to the suburbs we went. Die-hard citiers, we made the trip to one of the three restaurants on the west side of Main near Harlem. Tabree has nice parking in the back. Plentiful, easy and well lit. There are a few spots on the street in front as well. Entrances both front and back, easy. There is a nice bar with a reasonable choice of wines BTG. The bartender was a little distracted and it took flagging her down to get a drink, wine list etc. Wasn’t that crowded, should’ve been easier, faster and requiring fewer hand waves. But fine. We had a reservation and were seated on time. Nice table, not too small, yet close enough for easy conversation for three. Basically perfect. The noise level here was fine. It was a weekend evening and people were happily drinking, but it was not too loud. I had some of the specials of the evening. I enjoyed my peach salad immensely, but would have preferred it at a price point below $ 12 even more. However, the cheese, peaches and pistachios were perfect. And they went well together. It was a terrific dish. The duck spring rolls were ok. Not quite enough duck, and that was a little over cooked I felt. I enjoyed the dish but would hesitate to order it again, also $ 12. The steak sandwich was also only ok. The onions it came with were terrific. But onions overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. If I were going to order this again I might ask for rarer steak and ¾ of the onions. Id ask for more cheese too, it did not come through if it was there. The mayo that came with the fries was terrific though. And the fries had some cheese on them we decided, making them very tasty. One of the best dishes of the night was the halibut. It looked, smelled and I understand tasted great. Came with some mussels that were deemed inferior to the mussels served as an app though. Since we had both the app and the main the comparison was made. This is not a French restaurant. But it is a good American one. We enjoyed the meal and the ambiance. The food was A-OK.

Steaks were tasty, but the only vegetarian items on the menu were salads. Foie gras was a disappointment — did not taste authentic and was not prepared the right way. Overall, nice food but not«authentic» french cuisine.

We finally were able to have a meal here, after years of wanting to visit and just never making the time. I was quite surprised that the Friday before Easter was significantly less crowded than I would’ve imagined — there were only four tables taken in the restaurant when we walked in. Not that this really matters, except that they had one server on for the entire dining room. She was very efficient and friendly, but you could tell that having the whole dining room on her own shoulders was a bit distracting and stressful. The ambience does feature muted tones and a more new age feel to it, and for some reason I wasexpecting more of a French farmhouse kind of feel. I don’t really know why, that’s just what was in my mind. One of the reasons we decided to come here was I checked out their menu and wine list on the website. I was a bit disappointed when the menus were handed to us as some of the entrées were different and the wine list by the glass was not as interesting as the online sample. I know keeping things up to date online, especially menus, can be a challenge. It was just a little bit disappointing to see some of the wines and appetizers I was planning on ordering not available. The menu is short enough to keep decisions relatively simple, but nothing really jumped out at me. Usually when I go out for a fine dinner, there are one or two things that immediately jump out and that is what I have to have. This took much more determination. We started with a salad each, and then we split the scallop BLT. The salads were fresh and I like the shaved beats. I ordered the special salad and my wife ordered the Tabree salad, which was better than mine! The scallop BLT featured two large scallops, grilled romaine lettuce, and a tasty tomato salsa. We definitely could’ve used more bacon or even pork belly on this dish! At this point, I was a little disappointed that The experience was not blowing me away yet. Our food arrived in the nick of time: I had the chicken and my wife had the mushroom fettuccine with goat cheese. I very rarely order chicken when I go out as we make a lot of chicken at home and do so better than most restaurants. Honestly, it was very tasty but I forget what else was on the plate. That seems to be the curse of ordering chicken at most restaurants! However, the mushroom fettuccine was outstanding! I will say it again: the mushroom fettuccine was outstanding! Very rich, plenty of mushrooms, a bit of a tang in the goat cheese — definitely a dish I would order again. Overall, it was a very pleasant meal and I feel a decent value for $ 120, which included four glasses of wine. I don’t feel any rush to go back, as there are other restaurants in Buffalo that we prefer and ones that we have yet to try. Tabree is solid and does their job well, but nothing left me with the experience or taste that will be resonating in my mind for months to come.

Excellent French cuisine. Take off 1 star for the lack of coq au vin on the menu. The food was so rich, I crapped a golden nugget the next morning. Haha j/k, it was regular poop. For some reason, there was a whole bunch of really old people there. Maybe they came for their last meal? It was pretty good, but I still think I’d pick cheeseburgers.

Always a wonderful experience at Tabree. Food can be a but pricey, but it is always done well. When I’m not looking to spend a fortune I love to go there for a glass of champagne and a steak sandwich which is amazing!

I think this is the finest restaurant in the Western New York region. Excellent staff. Starting with a great hostess and just about any of the servers. Carl is our personal favorite, but if unavailable we will gladly go with anyone else. The cuisine is superb: the presentation, the attention to detail, the portions(not too big and not too small). Every part of the dining experience has been accounted for, nothing is left wanting. As I’ve mentioned, excellent attention to detail. The drinks are very good, they have a first-rate selection of champagnes. On one of our visits I had mentioned to Carl that I did not see Krug on the wine list, and what do you know? It was on the wine list during dinner to follow. Coincidence? I think not. I cannot praise this restaurant enough. I wish there would be more establishments like these in the area.

I’d rate this place 3.5 stars. The service was attentive, food tasty but also for the price I didn’t think it measured up. They give you fresh baked bread to start which is delicious. The salads were decent portions and soup was ok. It was a corn bisque but had strange flavor. I ordered potato gnocchi which was good, but again the flavor was lacking. My family ordered steak which they really enjoyed, especially the bar steak and they serve a decent burger. Wine was tasty, but also your looking at big city prices. You can easily spend $ 175 for 3. Cute décor, especially the Saint Germain water bottles. Would I go again? Prob not. Good parking in the back.

Had reservations for seven o’clock with a party of five. We were on time, and the place was less than half-full, but we still had to stand waiting for 10 – 15 minutes. Once we were seated, there was an inordinate wait for every course. Even coffee took forever. It was a weeknight, but come on. .. All the more reason to be prompt. Food was slightly substandard for the price, as usual.

A very disappointing experience. Service was extremely poor, and the food was not worth the price. When I made reservations for New Years Eve, I was told they could squeeze us in at 600 but had to be done by 800 because the table was reserved after that. No problem there, we had to leave by then for another appointment. We were seated on time, took 10 minutes for the waitress to stop by and take drink orders, which did come out in a timely manner. One member of our group needed a few extra minutes to make up their mind, which turned into another 10 minutes. One couple ordered an appetizer and salad, we ordered soup. They got their appetizers while we watched them eat. 15 minutes after they were done we got our soups and them there salad. So over an hour after we sat we still hadn’t received our entrees. We mentioned this to the hostess as the waitress wasn’t around, as well as our time constraint. She went to check but of course there was nothing she could do. At 730 we asked her again. She said the meals were ready and were being plated. 10 minutes later(meaning the food either got cold or sat under a heat lamp) we got our entrees. The manager stopped by to ask what the problem was, and we tried to explain what was said to us on the phone and our current constraint. He then went off on us, accusing us of upsetting the waitress(who was rarely in sight so we didn’t have the opportunity to upset her). When I then said I was disappointed that I had to rush down a $ 50 meal he said the waitress was not in control of the kitchen and that they were working as quick as possible. I have never had an owner of any establishment go off on me like that. Glad he stuck up for his folks, even though they didn’t do a great job. We sat for over ½ hour after the soups with no food, not even bread. As far as the food goes it was average. The couple who ordered the salmon enjoyed it. My Filet was tendered, but so over seasoned that I couldn’t taste the flavor of the meat. My wife’s lobster bisque had no lobster in it, nor any real seafood taste. So for the price go elsewere.

The atmosphere is great and the service is professional(particularly the hostess). The food isn’t bad but not quite worth the price. What irks me about this place, hence the 3 star review, is that this is NOT a «French» restaurant. There is very little about this place that is authentic French. This is a typical upscale American restaurant which features *some* unique offerings. But it’s really no different than most other restaurants in the area.

New chef — new menu, new simplicity to everything and much, much better than before. Try anything involving pork and you won’t be disappointed — especially the pork belly appetizer, if it’s on special. The braised beef is super-tender and nicely pink on the inside, served with a deep, savory sauce over a bed of pureed tomatoes. The desserts are, likewise, excellent. If you’ve been to Tabree before, you owe it to yourself to return. It’s totally changed what it is, for the better.

Another amazing and very intriguing dinning experience. We started with a dozen and a half of the most delicious and fresh oysters on the half shell. No mignonette!!! What!!! Instead the oysters were served with a ginger, vodka and shallot flaked ice sorbet. this was very creative and paired perfectly with these treats. Then we followed it up with bone marrow on toasted baguettes. This too was amazing. My wife had the salmon, it was to die for. I had the sword fish which is now sustainable again. It too was done to perfection and melted in my mouth.

stopped by tonight for some ‘take out’ as i didnt feel like cooking and no friends available for dining out. My first time here since the move from elmwood and after reading some of the reviews… did not know what to expect. The building and it’s front facing patio are inviting and tastefully decorated. As I was sitting at the bar ordering my ‘take out’, a guitarist started playing outside. He had a wonderful voice and I would have enjoyed sitting and listening to him longer, but eating out as a single woman in Buffalo remains a bit awkward, So, I ordered a glass of wine-10 dollars/glass-a bit high(esp with the new Tappo restaurant’s $ 5 glass for anything on the menu), water-which took two times to request, but then was constantly refilled by a pleasant bartender. I ordered one special appetizer-the squash blossoms filled with? riccotta and the octopus appetizer –grilled with greens, almonds, and almonds. I was a bit disappointed with the squash blossoms-they were deep fried in a batter and the filling was useless. When Ive made this dish, the squash blossom is the color and flavor. I must have missed the description. as i would not have ordered a deep fried anything! The grilled octopus was a bit happier of a dish, though small for twelve dollars and a bit overcooked than what i would have liked… different from my octopus experience in barcelona and mexico. I would return to try a full meal… but not tomorrow or the day after that!

There were four in our party and we all LOVEDIT!!! From the service to the ambiance and then the meal, everthing was outstanding! I had ordered a special — the pan seared chilean sea bass. It was probably 2 inches thick and completely white inside with a delicious crust on the outside. It was served with new potatoes and veges and everything was cooked to perfection. The other diners loved their meals; however I was so intent on mine I don’t remember what they ordered but they did all rave about their entrees. Drinks at the bar were a bit pricey but generous in pour so I guess thats a wash. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fine dining experience! Can’t wait to go back.

We were guests of Bryan Bryndle and«tabree» this week as we continued our search for the best crab cakes in WNY. What we found was a restaurant that was committed to freshness, attention to detail, and making their guests their number one priority. Tara and Bryan Bryndle have a «no microwave, no cans, no freezer(except to hold the gelato)» approach to freshness. Garden vegetables and herbs are picked daily, seafood is delivered three(3) times each week, and specialty items are expedited to Bryan’s door every morning. The restaurant has simple clean lines with muted colors that create an inviting atmosphere. This simpliciy is carried through to their menu of delicious entrees, appetizers and desserts. The menu at tabree constantly infuses new recipes with off-menu specials each week.(I recommend the grilled Chilean Sea Bass.) Chef de Cuisine Brenden Haggerty continues the Bryndle’s mission from the back of the house creating the best tabree has to offer. Three Phantom Diners sampled the Crab Cake w/apple and fennel slaw and citrus vinaigrette. The well portioned Crab Cake is panko encrusted, flash fried in canola oil, then baked to finish. Unanimously we agreed this was an excellent appetizer. The crab meat was sweet, fresh and paired well with the texture of the slaw and the light citrus of the vinaigrette. The panko coating was light and nicely crisp. We loved the dish.
When you come to tabree — and you should — bring your appetite and leave your watch behind; you’re going to want to stay awhile.
