I called there to make an appointment with my favorite hairdresser Thomas. I wasn’t a fan of the rest of the women in the shop but after the nasty response I received when I asked about Thomas I really feel the whole shop needs an attitude adjustment! Evidently Thomas doesn’t work there anymore but they would not give me any other information. I would not recommend Salon Pulse at all.

I came to this salon 3 times in total. My first two visits were great. Loved the girl who cut my hair but unfortunately she moved back to her home town. So my third I asked receptionist to just give me anyone at the salon since my girl left so maybe this is partly my fault but the man cutting my hair had hands that shook due to old age I guess. So as he’s doing my hair(I had half the mind to just get up before he started working on my hair and I regret not leaving) i realized he didn’t do anything I asked him to because I’m assuming his hands were tired and didn’t want to give me a thorough long layered cut — he also didn’t finish my blow out and asked the lady who washed my hair to finish it up. I am never going back to this salon. I understand maybe some of the other girls cut hair nicely but I’m not taking another chance. The search for a holy grail salon continues because this was not the one!

The best thing about this salon is Ernie. He’s sweet, friendly, has a great sense of humor and is just a pleasure. I’ve never had to tell him what to do with my hair, because I trust his opinion and always love his recommendations. In all the years I’ve been coming to this salon, Ernie has never been late, or in a bad mood or had an off day. He listens, gives you his full attention, and always makes my hair look great. More importantly, I always leave his chair with a smile on my face.

I moved to Long Island about 18 months ago and I have finally given up my attachment to my hairdresser of ten years back home in NJ. My mother-in-law and sisters-in-law have been having their hair cut here(it used to be J Martin, now it’s Salon Pulse) for years and recommended it, so I tried it out. I walked in at 3:30pm on New Year’s Eve and they were able to accommodate me as a walk-in, which was impressive. Julie gave me a wonderful cut: I told her how I wanted to be able to wear it and she understood completely what I was going for and gave me the perfect cut. Even though she was staying late to do my cut and I knew she had somewhere to go, she wasn’t rushing and I felt she gave plenty of time and attention to the work she was doing on my hair. The prices of their services seem to be on-par with other local places, so I was satisfied with what I paid. I can’t wait to go back!

I’ve gone to this salon over 5 times and everytime I have left satisfied. All the hair dressers I have tried are nice and have good skills. I tend to go to John since he was the one I was initially referred to but I have also tried two other young girls whose names I forgot… perhaps Nicole may have been one of them and the other a strawberry/dirty blonde… Either way, all did a nice cut and blow out and I have yet to leave dissatisfied. The price is great too and I love how every time I go it doesn’t increase like most salons, $ 37 each time, a good hair cut and blowout and thats what keeps me coming back!
