El Rancho Hotel

Stayed here for a few days. The lobby is beautiful– had to have a couple meetings here and there was plenty of work space and a cozy vibe. Room was clean and well tended to. Internet was excellent-​super fast. Employees were really accommodating. And it’s attached to the best restaurant/​bar in town. What more could you ask for?

I am giving 2 stars for a couple of reasons.
When you look this motel/​hotel up online a picture of a really nice room shows up. So of course that’s what I was expecting. However, you only get the pictured room if you are only staying for a night or two. That was not the case for my significant other and myself. We were going to be staying there for 2 weeks and so we got the «weekly rooms.»
The first room they tried to give us smelled like someone just smoked a cigarette on the inside. The blankets and sheets were dirty and didn’t even look like they had been washed. For me when I am staying anywhere that is not my home I look for those kind of things. We went back to the front desk and they said they didn’t know why they gave us that room and that we would like this next one much better.
It was much better. The fridge was smaller but I was okay with it.
Laundry was on site. Which is a huge plus. And the WIFI was great with a very strong connection!!!
One day during the week housekeeping was training a new employee. I was by myself in the room. I heard a knock and I couldn’t get to the door right away. (I had my do not disturb sign up) the gentleman helped himself in but then he realized that someone was in the room so he stepped out left the door cracked open. I opened the door and he was standing there and said «I saw your sign, but we don’t really look at those.»
Okay, given, he is new… But WTF?! I could of been getting dressed. And new or not, everyone knows even if you don’t work at a hotel or never have worked at one. You DON’T say that?! I called the front desk and they explained that he was being trained. And that they apologized.
The Brewery is yummy! And a clean place/​bar, we are there often.

My stay here was great. The room was very comfortable. The wifi worked well. Everything was clean. Bed was really comfortable. It is also attached to a pretty nice restaurant and bar. I will definitely be staying here again.
