So I order a breakfast sandwich and some tater tots. It’s a grilled breakfast sandwich and there is even a picture of it on the menu so I was excited because it looked delicious. I drove to work. Opened my breakfast and it was disgusting. The bread had a stripe of runny butter in the middle. It looked like it was on the grill for two seconds. It was slimed and cold. See picture.

This is typical fast food, but that doesn’t stop it from tasting amazing. If you need a quick meal, it might be best just to skip the part where they deliver it to your car. Going straight to the drive thru might save you a lot of time.

This is my second time at this particular Sonic. The first was just to order 2 shakes & the wait was ridiculously long ! Also — the girl who took our order at the drive-thru was not only difficult to understand but also spoke so quickly we had no idea what she was trying to say ! Today we stopped for a burger & fries and once again the wait for our food was very long ! So bottom line, if you are in a hurry I wouldn’t choose this particular Sonic’s drive-thru !

Note: This is a review of the Sonic Milkshake. Because I just love milkshakes, I had to stop by a Sonic as I’ve heard some good things. But… have to try for myself. To compare to some of my Go To places, it’s definitely below the level of Oberweis or even Superdawg, both who have very good shakes. Shake Shack also is pretty good too. Oberweis is definitely at the top of my list, with The Creamery at Penn State side saddled beside it(tho much harder to get to from Chicago). It’s far above my memory of McDonalds(it has been over 20 years since I had one of those). So I’ll put it in the«decent pick if you have to choose between Fast Food places». Pro’s: the location I was at had half priced milkshakes after 8pm. Score! Con’s: a bit too much of the cup was whipped cream. And the vanilla shake, while nice and clean tasting, just didn’t have a very strong ‘vanilla beany’ flavor. Overall, decent product, but doubt I’d go out of my way for it. However, if you have a minimum choice, pick the Sonic.

I’ve tried Sonic on a few occasions. I like the concept, but the food just isn’t that great. If I do end up here I stick to the hot dogs which are decent enough. The shakes aren’t bad though.

Alex was cool but the rest of the people that worked at sonic I don’t know about. I don’t think the one Employee walking out the bathroom washed his hands the food give me a gave me a tummy ache

Avoid buying anything with ice cream in it at this Sonic. About half of the time the ice cream is lumpy and chewy. The manager and employees are well aware that this is a problem. They don’t warn you. They just serve it that way and if you complain they offer you a free one the next time you visit.

Thanks for nothing. I’ve been here a few times and I’m to going back anymore. Rude wait staff that obviously doesn’t care to even be there. The inconsistency of the food is incredible. One morning you have get a good breakfast burrito and the next there’s nothing in it. I’m not paying for inconsistent service.

So many options! I love their mozzarella sticks. The cheeseburger & strawberry limeade were good too.

I know this is the greasy of the greasy, but I cant help that tater tot craving that I get every so often. I love their chili cheese tots, regardless of the fact that they are dipped in oil and fat, and then fried with a whole bunch of 10 days at the gym plopped on top. Mmmmmm. I also love their drinks, especially the blue ocean water drink(which, beside being blue, has nothing to do with the ocean or water). If it were closer to where I live I’d probably be in trouble, but I save it for«those days». The young teens who work there also do a fantastic job. I always see them working hard and not just sitting around or goofing off. The place is in tip-top shape. Garbage not over flowing, clean eating areas, etc. Great job Sonic employees!

When we went to this Sonic it took them three(yes 3!) attempts to get our order right! It was nothing fancy or unusual, and tasted fine when it arrived, but we nearly lost the will to live in the process and vowed not to go back.

Not bad at all. I had the NY hot dog it was good, it would have been the best if it was a hebrew big dog. The tater tots and onion rings are really good. They have good food for fast food. The service was good too. You can only dine outside, in your car or go to the drive thru. I will probably go back and try it again when I am in town.

I would go here more often if only my wife wasn’t so health conscious! I finally returned on March 19, 2011, spurred on by their ubiquitous hot dog commercials playing during the NCAA tournament. A friend and I ventured there. I had the Chicago Dog, jalapeño poppers and a Diet Coke. I started with the poppers. Scalding hot. You have to rip them open with your hands. Came with a ranch dipping sauce that was nothing special. The poppers were good, but again, rip them open first. I really enjoyed my Chicago dog. I had a bite of one of the jalapeños on it. Too hot for me. So I just squeezed the juices onto the dog and put to the side. The dog with its tomato, onions, pickle and relish, was great. Way to come up with hot dog toppings, Chicago! The cup my Diet Coke was in informed me they have flavorings for the sodas which I could not tell from the huge menu. I also saw a sign that said they now have Coke Zero, which I also didn’t realize. So I ordered a Coke Zero with vanilla flavor which was sublime. Like a dessert onto itself. I have to remind myself to do that every time I go. Going to Sonic makes me feel like I get a little California here in Pennsylvania. I plan to make use of it more as the weather warms up.

Nothing special here. The fries were cold, and the wait is long. The milkshakes are TOTALLY worth it though!

Usually I am not a huge fan of fast-food places. I can definitely eat there and appreciate the convenience, but lately with the price of lunch at your average fast-food joint going way over $ 7, the said convenience loses it’s value… ‘specially when in most cases it’s the same old thing over and over again… Enter Sonic. I am aware that Sonic Drive-Ins been around, but after seeing their commercials on TV for what seems like my whole life, I can say that I get to enjoy it whenever I feel like… Yes, it is still a fast-food place, but it’s different — you don’t get to go in — either eat in your car or seat outside(though how does this work once it gets cold I am not sure)… the menu offers much more than your typical fast food burger… The Coney Island Foot Long is awesome, the same with bacon cheeseburger toaster… and don’t get me started on the shakes and smoothies… In other words, as far as fast-food places go, Sonic is as good as it gets…

Sonic seems to be an homage to the 50s drive-up style restaurants where you order from you car, the food is brought out to you, and you eat in your car. Sonic offers this type of dining but you can also go through the drive-through or order at the front counter and sit on their patio. Let me just start off by saying that I am obsessed with their drinks. They offer many different types: smoothies, lime-ades, frozen lime-ades, coffee drinks, shakes, etc. Their drinks are what brings me here every time. My favorite: Cranberry Limeade with fresh limes. There is something for everyone on the drink menu. The food is standard fast food: burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches. They do have a few items that are semi– unique to the fast food world: cheese stakes, Conney dogs with chili, onion rings, and tater tots. Watch out for the onion rings– they are sweet(tastes almost like funnel cake) and über– heavy. I can’t comment too much on the rest of the food because normally I just order off the drink menu. This particular one is new and seems to still have a few kinks to work out. Mainly the drive-through line. It doesn’t quite flow like the system normally should. It is probably just growing pains and I am sure that it will get in the groove eventually. The kids probably really get a kick out of Sonic– especially if the food server delivers the food on roller skates. I can also see it being a good casual, after-a-movie, date spot. Sonic is definitely something different in the ages of McDonald’s and Burger King!
