Michael creates fabulous hand blown vases, lamps, bowls and objects. I’m especially partial to his tiny one-of-a-kind vases which I collect and display on my kitchen and living room window sills. They are the most talked about gifts I give — when I can part with them. Over the years I have also collected his lamps, bowls and larger vases, all of which are functional and decorative. I use and enjoy the glass. I was worried when he moved to Brooklyn, but the train ride to get there is easy(even for a non-local from Chicago) and the walk past the charming shops is a pleasure. I never visit New York without paying a visit to Michael Anchin Glass Co. Michael is warm and personable. I always leave with a great feeling and lovely glass. See Michael Anchin’s website for a large, frequently updated selection of glass:

This store was here before the rush was on to gentrify the area. It’s an artisan business selling signed colorful glass objects such as vases, lamp shades and bowls. The uniqueness of each piece makes it so this is not an under $ 20 gift store but you are getting what you pay for. There are photos on the website which are updated often, making it easy to keep track of what’s available.
