DO It Yourself Doggie Wash

Awesome place! I own 2 big Great Danes, and extremely hard to wash them in the tub at home! They have walk up tubs big enough for the big dawgz. The floors are at east level so I don’t have to neel or bend over! The best part is I don’t destroy my bathroom every time I wash my dogs.

Love this local spot! They have been around for over 20 years. Very nice people working there. Always friendly and helpful. Do it yourself wash for the puppy for $ 15. Reasonable prices, quick and easy. Added bonus: Puppy treats after you pay!

After going to doggie washes in other locations that were cheaper and provided better equipment, I was disappointed.
My first impression was that the whole place smells like cigarette smoke and is totally empty. I’ve called several times to confirm if they’ll be open (as a result of a comment made on another website) and they’ve told me «It’s pretty dead so we might close soon.»
They charge $ 18 for 1 hr of do it yourself washing (compared to the $ 14 I spent at a similar place in LA and $ 16 to Fabian’s Paw Station in Downer’s Grove). They — unlike those other two places — do no provide shampoo or brushes. They claim that providing brushes would be unsanitary but I’m pretty sure there’s a way to sterilize those rubber bathing brushes the other places provide. They also claim to have competitively priced shampoo. Considering the fact that I’m already paying more to go there, it’d be nice if the shampoo were free.
Otherwise the facility is fine. After all, you’re doing the wash yourself. Fabian’s Paw Station does have better hoses that you can click in spraying mode (kinda like a gas pump) so you don’t have to push down on a button the whole time.
One other note — the owner is a little weird. He reprimanded me for not putting the provided collar on my dog tight enough and then it turned out that the collar is so old that it loosened itself. He also told me that my dog is small for his breed (he was 7 months old) and would not grow any more (he’s grown 5 lbs in size since that comment made 2 wks ago). Seems like an odd thing to tell someone who owns a large breed dog…
