Working near this location, we have been regulars for lunch and after-dinner drinks for many years now. Though the restaurant ambiance is still nice, the food, service and general experience have really gone down-hill lately. I am not sure what brought about the change but it has been disappointing. We often would use the Kerry Piper for large group staff lunches, and the restaurant seems to be somewhat understaffed for the lunch our. Though admittedly large groups are always difficult, our drinks would go empty and soup/salad starters wouldn’t be brought out for 20 minutes or more. In our most recent visit, some of the food was cold and the steak appetizer bites(ordered medium) were so raw inside that they were actually still cold from the freezer in the middle. For the price, there are just too many better lunch options in the Burr Ridge area. Sadly, I am not sure that we will be going back anymore.

Advertised gluten free dessert takes two hours to defrost. Bailey’s Irish coffee made with bottom shelf not Bailey’s.(did replace after mention it tasted gross). Served dirty and soiled napkins. Atmosphere is not child friendly even prior to 8pm. My son stood in line with his dollar for darts only to be butted in line by a questionable group who placed a $ 5 in the machine and basically sat on stools and played leisurely one dart every 10 minutes, while providing darting stares at our table. We were told to go back to Chicago, Gladly. May the good Lord Bless all of them youngsters with plenty of children and nev’r a sitter.

Food is usually good, ample parking, fair amount of seating. Unfortunately the management/staff isnt so great. Went here with old friends to catch up over some food and drinks. After we finished our food the waitress dropped off the check and said they were closing soon since they werent busy. Seriously? Three hours before their posted close time? Funny they didnt mention before we ordered.

I have hung out here for years, and this is my first review of it. My wife and I were in on Saturday night after an early concert in another location. The Piper was quiet, not a lot of people, which we knew would be good because the staff would be attentive… and they were. I had the burger, which was outstanding. My wife had the Shepherd’s Pie, which she said was a bit bland. However, since she likes her Shepherd’s Pie with ground beef instead of lamb, she dealt with it. The Guinness was perfect. If you go, get the«cheese balls» as an appetizer. They are out of this world!

I have been to The Kerry Piper a few times and had decent experiences. The bartenders are great. However, I wanted to take my boyfriend out for a drink on his birthday, which was a Tuesday and even though they advertise as being open until 1am, they were most certainly closed at around 12am. I work nights so it was the only time that we had together and when we got there, the parking lot was basically deserted and no one answered the phone to check on if they were open. It was very disappointing.

Came here for St. Patties day and it was obviously super crowded but we had a good time. Drinks were average price but it was impossible to get a seat. There was no order, we asked a waiter to be put on list for table and they said it was first come first serve and we didn’t feel like jumping over people and fighting for a table so we just stood up. They do have bands playing outside and inside. Came here a different night, just an average Friday night. Got the worst service ever. I had to ask the waitress literally four times for a glass of water with my dinner. We ordered nachos and they came out cold. We sent them back and they obviously just threw the entire plate– sour cream, guac, and all back in the oven which was so gross. For nachos that expensive you would think they would just make you a fresh batch and bring them out on time. To top it all off the waitress tried to charge us for an extra drink. The place just put a bad taste in my mouth… literally.

First and foremost, I have been to Kerry Piper numerous times. Every time I went, I was excited to get the pot roast Boxty. Sadly, they recently changed the menu, and the Boxties have been removed. In fact, many of the Irish items have been removed including the Guinness beef tips. This Irish pub is now American pub grub with some staple Irish dishes like a Reuben and corned beef and cabbage. I had the Shepard’s Pie(yes, one of the few Irish items) and it was pretty good. My mother had Fish ‘N Chips, which was overlooked and dry. The other three had burgers, which ranged from«over cooked» to «decent» to «okay». The beer selection is still nice, and the atmosphere is about as Irish as it comes, including live music the night I was there. Overall, I was disappointed in the changes, but it does still have redeeming qualities.

I visited the Kerry Piper for lunch on St Patrick’s day, so I knew things would be busy. The restaurant was full and there was a select menu for the day. Food was OK, service was slow, but I do think this was mainly due to the holiday. The interior is very cozy and authentic. There was great live music and a lively crowd. It was a perfect lunch spot for a festive day, but I probably wouldn’t return regularly.

The atmosphere is fun and energetic. Bartender was all over the restaurant instead of serving the bar. The food was good enough. Highly recommended the cheese balls, those are the only reason I would go back!

I’ve come to the Kerry Piper since it was built with materials made in Ireland. I always thought the food and ambience was pretty decent. We stopped in for a nightcap last night. No food. The service was REALLY slow. People were waiting in line to get in because empty table had not been bussed. We almost left for another place. Wasn’t amused when a waiter kicked a knife on the floor over to the bus tubs. Not impressed when they used the same bus tub to hold trays of food as they delivered them. Ew. Maybe it was just an off night, but I think there are better Irish options.

First time i ate there was about a yr ago & i ordered the shepards pie & i thought it was pretty good. I ordered the shepards today & they must have changed the menu because now it says twice baked shepards pie & its def not the same or even close to being as good as before. I will not be ordering it again thats for sure

My friend introduced me to Kerry Piper. I came here for after work drinks and dinner with an old friend and we had a good time. It was pretty typical pub food. I ordered the shepherd’s pie and it was good! She ordered a burger that she also enjoyed. The sweet potato fries were yummy. It just felt like a standard pub. Nothing super special about it. Probably won’t return.

OK, so I’ll start by describing the place. Nice wood furnishings, warm and comfortable, and typical Irish bar atmosphere with a nice big bar. Also during nice weather they have lots of outdoor seating and a great porch area. The beer selection is pretty descent, with your typical Irish selections. Although, I must state that they have $ 2 points on Tuesday nights, even imports!!! It’s amazing! The food is good, but nothing I’ve got to have. Typical Irish fare, maybe somewhat better than most. But nothing unusual really. The corned beef is pretty good, and the Bass battered fish and chips is tasty. But again, it just doesn’t really stand out. I’ve never had anything bad there, just nothing incredibly amazing either. Service is pretty good, especially at the bar. The bartenders are friendly and helpful. Overall a nice place to go. Wonderful on Tuesdays!

Stopped here for dinner and beers with some work pals and had a solid time. They’ve got a ton of great bar food on the menu and good beers on tap. The venue was fairly quiet when we arrived, but was due to pick up with trivia on the agenda for the evening. I was out of there before the festivities, but it definitely looked like a good time. It’s off the beaten path and you’ll feel like one of the locals coming here.

They accommodated our group of 10 on their patio Saturday evening with short notice. I really liked their menu offerings & the food was excellent. Lots of interesting choices, it was difficult to choose! Unfortunately the service was not great. The waitress seemed flustered during our entire visit. The wait between our beer orders was lengthy & our appetizers never came out. She did give us a couple free desserts at the end to make up for it.

Hadn’t been to the KP in a long time, but it was chosen as a party venue for my dad so a small crowd convened on Monday night. About 15 people gathered for the event and they put us in the small«back room» area(under the stone arch, past the bar), which is a bit removed from everything else, so was perfect. Service was unobtrusive but managed to keep things flowing even as new waves of people arrived. Food was good: we had an assortment of bar snacks as appetizers(wings, Harp Strings, some kind of corned beef chimichanga things), and for an entrée I had the fish and chips, which was good but not as great as I remember here, honestly. Naturally you can get any kind of cocktail, but one member went traditional with Black and Tans(no IRA jokes, please). Overall, it was a good place for the event and fine as far as the fare. I would return in the future.

This place knows how to throw one hell of a St. Patrick’s Day party over St. Patrick’s Day weekend… they, however make a KILLING doing it. So I started my St. Patty’s Day Weekend in downtown Naperville and then met friends over at this place. Not that this place should be compared to Naperville establishments, but I’ll set out the scenario… This place is practically in the middle of an industrial area. They were charging for valet parking, we opted not to do that so we parked a few blocks down with the majority of the crowd. In order to head into their large tent out back you had to go in through the bar and pay a $ 10 cover!!! Yes, $ 10 and that included nothing… or, as the guy at the door said«for the band Maggie Speaks» Yeah, well the band played for an hour-ish and really not worth the $ 10 to hear a band sing to backing tracks. They had other entertainment here too and I get the bar has to pay for the entertainment somehow… just a tad bitter over paying that cover and to follow the $ 5.50 draft beers out back in the tent. This is an Irish Pub plus some so if that is what you are seeking for some fun… this would be your place. I have no idea what it’s like when it’s not St. Patrick’s Day weekend, but in the few hours I was here I spent way more than intended.

This is a pretty cool little place. There really aren’t many bars in the area, unless you go to the downtown are of one of the surrounding towns. All of that means that the Kerry Piper fills a much needed niche. It has a cool, somewhat authentic Irish atmosphere. It’s a pretty cool place to hangout, regardless of your age(seems like one half of the room is all people under 25 and the other half is made up mostly of people north of 40).The location leaves a lot to be desired and the parking lot is rough. Food desperately needs an upgrade and while there is live music sometimes, that is definitely an aspect of this place that is being underutilized.

Great updated menu full of pub and Irish fare. Friendly staff and cozy Irish pub atmosphere. Beer selection is average, nothing very outlandish. Good fish options during lent– I loved the tuna steak! Great place for a casual night w friends. Outdoor patio is decent– looks out onto a storage facility and has 55 as background noise though. Very much love this place!
