They preformed a slip-shod teeth cleaning and an X-ray on my son. From the time my son went back to the exam room, late by ½ hour, I might add, till the time he was standing by my side at the office desk, was all of 15 minutes!!! No Joke! They did not fix the problem I contracted this dentist to do. Also, my son left the office, bleeding and in pain, with damage to his gum tissue. Basically, I feel we were treated as chattel and used to generate an office and treatment charge to Medicaid. Worst experience, ever! Rudest people, ever! I called this office to schedule son for wisdom tooth removal. I thoroughly explained problem to Florman’s very rude assistant(Ms. Rude) and was very clear on what service I was looking for, stating, «My son needs his wisdom teeth pulled.» I am an RN and not yet insured, so son is on Medicaid. I’m also more than qualified to assess his currant situation. Time was of the essence, due to son will loose dental coverage in one month. From the very first conversation, Ms Rude was condescending and cold. I hung up from making the appointment wondering what was up with her attitude? We arrived early to fill out forms, but Ms Rude was in back when we entered. Stuck her head out of the back and asked who we were and when I asked if there were some forms I could get started on, Ms Rude stuck her finger up as if to say, «one moment.» and ducked back into the back. I wasn’t given the forms to fill out till Florman was ½ late for our appointment. When son was taken to exam room, Florman did not introduce his self, nor say hello to my son. He just barked directions to son. He rushed a set of X-rays and a tooth cleaning. He injured my son’s gums to the point of bleeding, in his haste. Son was literally out in 15 minutes. 15 minutes was not an appropriate appointment for the situation, nor, did he fix the problem of the impacted tooth. He told me my son needed his teeth extracted and referred us to a surgeon. Florman became belligerent when I questioned why he didn’t fix the problem, since I explained what my son needed, when making the appointment. He stated he doesn’t do extractions. Ms. Rude chimed in that ‘they’ don’t diagnose over the phone and how dare I suggest otherwise. I said that I felt it would have been professional to let me know Florman didn’t extract teeth and would have only referred us elsewhere. Especially when I specifically said that is the service I was looking for. When I said this and stated I feel they wasted our time, Florman literally turned away from me and said to his assistant, «OK, don’t give them the referral. Let’s see if they get serviced then.», as he threw the X-ray on the back counter. All I can say is, wow!!! I couldn’t believe I was being treated like this. I should have gone to Case Western School of Dentistry, in the first place. I was just trying to save a 25 min. drive, and the time involved waiting for an appointment. I’ve already made an appointment. Before this, my father-in-law, a well known pediatric dentist, always took care of the children’s teeth, before passing away. He was voted #1 peds dentist in Cleveland, and was a professor at Case. They give wonderful, courteous, service and the is the absolute best service for any Medicaid patient. Somehow, I’m thinking, Mark Florman will never even place on the list for Best Dentist in NE Ohio. Do yourself a favor and never go to this guy!
