Nili Yelin, The Storybook Mom is a locally-​famous children’s storyteller. She tells stories all around the Chicagoland area at libraries, play spaces, coffee shops, birthday parties and more. From the moment she starts to read, her deep dynamic voice will draw you and your kiddos into the story from the first sentence to the last. She’s great with all audiences, and the first time my kiddos listened to her read at an event, I was amazed at how she kept their squirmy attention.

We booked Nili Yelin for our five-year-old’s birthday party last week, and we are incredibly happy!
What we expected: We’d seen Nili perform her stories and books and engage children at a couple of public events, so we were excited to have her create a special hour-​long storytelling session for our daughter and her friends.
What we got: When we booked Nili, she asked us all about our daughter’s interests. At the party, Nili was thoughtful and inspiring and so enthusiastic and fun. She engaged the kids (as well as the adults in the room!) and she was respectful of the kids who weren’t so interested in sitting still. After reading some terrific books, Nili turned the job of storytelling over to the kids and helped them to create and perform a story of their own. She wrapped up with some more great stories.
