Admiral Taddy’s

Great service! Taddy is true charmer. Always speaking with customers. I ordered a medium oxtail which with rice, peas and cabbage and it was good. Not an eat in location but I wasn’t looking to stay. The attention to customer service was high quality. They clearly are in the business to get you in and out like I like it.
Parking is not totally horrible but it’s not great. He has parking in the rear. Good carry out location that will satisfy any cravings for the islands!

I ordered for the first time today and enjoyed my meal very much. I ordered the jerk chicken meal. It came with cabbage and rice and beans as sides. The chicken was the right amount of spicy and the portions were a great value for the price.

Had high hopes for this little place, but sadly let down. Let me just say when my boyfriend and I walked in we felt anything but welcomed. The lady at the counter didn’t greet us, avoided eye contact and never even cracked anything resembling a smile. I honestly wanted to turn around and walk out right then, but I had driven far so I didn’t. I stayed in death heat of this little place, with no a/​c, open doors or windows for ventilation I though I was gonna pass out. I live about 75 minutes from this restaurant and the entire reason I went is because I found a online menu that said they have jerk pork. Unfortunately when we finally arrived they didn’t have jerk pork after all, as a matter a fact they didn’t have the «run down», or even that days special listed on the board which was fried chicken. She said they didn’t make it today??? Not sure why she still had it listed for everyone to see on her white board. I ended up getting the jerk chicken which was ok, the included rice was drowned in the jerk sauce which was too much, but the cabbage was good. Over all I would never go back not because I thought the food was just o.k. but the outright rudeness and atmosphere was terrible. Next time Ill just try the jerk hut I guess, but no pork there either :-/

The food is amazing I tried the jerk chicken and rice & beans the chicken was perfect not too spicy and perfectly seasoned! and my bf tried the curry goat which was really nicely prepared very tender! we would definitely return! Don’t forget to add some cabbage you won’t regret it I promise!

The Jamaican flavors are phenomenal here in the dishes! Not to mention sensible pricing too. I always invite my friends to this restaurant and should be top Jamaican restaurant in the city.

I just looooooove me some Jerk chicken and always pick it up at Taddy ‘s. I am quite familiar with Jamaican dishes and can definitely tell the difference between an authentic and not so authentic. Taddy ‘s jerk chicken is so tender and seasoned served with yummy sauce. Delicious!!! The cabbage and the rice is so great, goes perfectly with the chicken.
I have also enjoyed the red snapper served with sautéed vinegar onions. Very good.
Give this place a try once and you will be hooked. Location is a little shady but I have never experience any problems.

Takes me back! Awesome Jamaican/​Caribbean flavor. Get the curry jerk shrimp! Somewhat in the hood, but the guy cooks with a glock on his hip, so it gave me peace of mind. Friendly staff and generous portions.

My husband and I were in the mood for something different for dinner and decided to take a risk and try Admiral Taddy’s. There is no parking in the area so we were forced to park across the street in a nearby restaurants lot. We couldn’t find a menu online so we had to go there and order. Beware, pick up a menu and call in to order ahead. With one woman behind the counter and several walk in orders, it took a while just to tell her what we wanted. On the other hand, the woman gave us THE BEST customer service we have seen in a long time. Her attitude was completely positive and sweet and she was helpful in getting us to decide what to order.
My husband ordered curried goat and jerk chicken with cabbage and white rice. They were out of curried turkey so I ordered curried chicken with cabbage and white rice (their only sides are rice and beans or cabbage and white rice). The curried goat was on the fattier and saltier side. The curried chicken was delicious and I couldn’t get enough of the sauce. Just be careful because they use whole chicken pieces so you may get a bone here and there. The jerk chicken was absolutely amazing and completely tender. Much to my surprise since I hate cooked carrots, the «cabbage» was absolutely devine! It was more like a medley of a few veggies with mostly cabbage but it was sooooo flavorful.
One thing to note is that Admiral Taddy’s is a complete dive and it appears like it is some sort of place of convening rather than a restaurant. There were dozens of people walking in and out and just hanging out in the back.
We will definitely be returning but will be calling in and ordering ahead.

Outstanding take-​out Jamaican Food! From Goat Curry to some of the best Jerk Chicken I’ve ever tasted. Food is consistently delicious and Admiral Taddy always greets you with a warm smile. Portions are generous and won’t break the bank. The small is just $ 4! I drop by to pick up lunch during work, and sometimes pick-​up dinner for the whole family. Everyone loves it!
