Overall this was a fun experience, but I’ve played a few escape rooms before and I have some feedback for this one. The puzzles were adequately challenging and the theme was a good concept, but I felt as if the room was a bit too linear. Each puzzle was confined to its own room without continuation and it would’ve been cool if some of the things carried over or if the order of solving everything in each room wasn’t as streamlined. If we were stuck on a certain puzzle(a couple were a bit vague), then we couldn’t solve another one and go back to it since there was a specific order. We were presented a video at the beginning and the text for the rules moved by so quickly that I would’ve been confused if I were a first timer. I enjoy it in escape rooms when the host introduces the rules and gives a brief synopsis about the room. I’m just giving feedback because I work in an escape room and I think the game could be polished this way.

My wife and our 12 year old boy and I went with his friend and her mom. We knew nothing about the place but thought it would be fun. We did the solve a murder room. After 15 minutes we were stumped and asked for a clue. After thirty minutes we still were stunped and asked for another clue. After an hour we gave up and the employee came in and showed us solution. It was right there in front of us but we couldn’t solve it. Can’t wait to go back and try again!

Very fun experience. Never did I feel so dumb and then a rush as we solved a puzzle. We had a great time — 6 of us. We did not finish in time, but were on the last clue. wow. I’d recommend this highly as the crew was very polished and friendly and helpful. So nice.

This place is great start to finish. From the initial video to the final puzzle this place had me guessing, thinking and puzzle solving all the way through. The puzzles are well thought out and after getting a clue, the group was running around trying to put everything together. Great time! I can’t say too much about the actual puzzles, but let me say you don’t have to be a super genus to solve them, but it helps. Make this your next adventure in the Wilmington area. I can’t wait to get back and try the second room!

Oh my! Had no idea what to expect from this experience, and it was great!!! They placed us in the most difficult room and it was tough! The clues are crazy! The puzzles are amazing! The thrill when you unlock your next clue is so sweet! Our group had a blast! Can’t wait to go back to attempt to solve more of the mysteries!!!

I have been hearing about these«escape room» attractions for a while but had not had the opportunity to check it out. During a Unilocal event with Battle House someone recommended that the elite squad check out Cape Fear Escape so I made contact and planned an event. I was super excited to find out that they are also opening a new location downtown. Honestly I had no idea what to expect but was prepared for it to be cheesy and juvenile. Boy was I wrong and thoroughly impressed. I don’t want to say too much and ruin the experience so I will give you the basics. I was with a group of six in the hardest room. We didn’t escape in 60 minutes but had an amazing time. In the beginning we had trouble interpreting the clues and used one of our hints, which helped a lot. This is great for groups to utilize the skills of many. Yes, there is some math; no, phones are not allowed and the math is actually more suited for young brains so yeah bring your kids. By the end of the«escape» everything made sense and we all had a good laugh about the clues we missed. At the end of 60minutes we were actually one clue away from our escape. Don’t let the random one star review deter you from checking out this business. The staff is friendly and solving each clue to escape was more fun than I could have imagined. The implementation of the clues was creative and exciting.

Absolutely loved the great experience that was Cape Fear Escape Room. Our group delved right in after watching a short set up video that explains to you what you will be doing. I must admit, despite my years of Law & Order and CSI viewership I wasn’t *quite* as clever at crime scenes as I thought I was. I won’t give any details away so as not to spoil it, but I will say be prepared to put your thinking caps on. It’s really a great group activity and we enjoyed it very much. Friendly staff on hand! Highly recommend, you won’t be sorry!

Don’t let the first review of that one guy chase you off, this place was nothing but a fun time, and there Customer Service is excellent. I came here reluctantly with some friends that dragged me along. At around 15 minutes in, I felt like I was the greatest detective the world has ever seen, since I started solving clues. This is a must do event for everybody. I highly recommend this for anybody that wants to have a fun time.

SOMUCHFUN! I did the Time Traveler room with my family and had such a great time, I brought a group of friends a few days later to do the Cape Fear Manhunt room. Had a GREAT experience both times. Can’t wait to bring a group from work to Cape Fear Escape Room– it’ll be the perfect team building activity.

Very disappointed. We arrived at the proper date and time. Saw that the office lights were on. We knocked numerous times, went around to the opposite side of the building, and waited for over a half hour, but yet no one came to the door. Very disappointing. Unilocal showed that you were closed on Wednesday, but on your website you say that you are open for business.
