Quite possibly the worst steaks I have ever had. A bunch from work ordered lunch here one day. I had a cheese steak. It was cold, meat was skimpy, and bland. I asked for fried onions and there were none. The steak was not chopped up like it is supposed to be, it was just long thin strands of meat. I decided to give them another chance, so last week I ordered a chicken cheese steak. It was even worse !!! One long, thin piece of dried out chicken(?) and way too much mayo. It was not a grilled/chopped chicken breast. It was nasty. There was more roll than meat. Anyone who goes here any more is a sucker. There are far too many sub shops in the area to choose from. I am DONE with Casapulla’s.

Where do I begin. I really got ripped off by this place. Never have I been to sub shop where the hot and cold sandwiches come on different size rolls. I basically paid full price for half a cheesesteak. The small italian sub my friend ordered was nearly twice the size of the small cheesesteak. They basically put my small cheesesteak on their baby size roll. To make matters worse the cheesesteak isnt even chopped. Just whole slices of thin cut steak. Also this is a very slow paced shop. Didnt expect to wait nearly 30 minutes for 2 sandwiches. I would give this place a 0 if I could. Will never eat here again.

We visiting family in Delaware & my husband wanted a taste of home, a real cheesesteak that we’ve been unable to find in CA. His Mom recommended Casapulla’s, said they made great cheesesteaks & Italian subs. She was 100% right. We got one of each & both were amazing!!! The Italian sub was loaded with several different kinds of Italian meats & cheese, a few vegges, onions, pickles, mild peppers & an amazing dressing. I don’t know if they put just oil & vinegar or some type of homemade dressing but it was so flavorful .The cheesesteak was also AMAZING. While it wasn’t as stuffed w/meat, the steak was tender & juicy but not greasy, the cheese was melted perfection, and the onions were soft & sweet. I don’t even like cooked onions but these were so good I wish I would’ve asked for extra onions. The bread was perfect, a little crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and it didn’t fall apart at all. I was shocked at how inexpensive these subs were, about $ 8.79 for a large and they were HUGE. They cut our larges into 2 pieces & each piece had to be at least 8″.The only drawback would be the wait. It was was pretty busy. I noticed a lot of people had called in their orders and their sandwiches were ready to go. We just dropped in so it took about 30 minutes, but it was well worth the wait. My hubby has always bragged about the subs he used to eat back home and he wasn’t joking. Wish they had a shop here or maybe we just have to move back to his hometown, lol.

Being a native Pennsylvanian it took me years to adapt to Delaware subs. Not after I found cassapulla’s. I would match any Pa. hoagie with their sub. Obviously people here also think so because I have never been there when workers are not going 100 miles and hour and still manage to get each order perfectly.

One of the best Italian subs in Delaware. The cheesesteaks are not chopped and are served with provolone. Though really you’re here for the Italian with oil, the whole garden, and prosciutto, right? Really I can’t praise this place enough, but you had better not think it is a fast joint when you walk in be ready to wait 30 – 45 minutes for your food. Still good things come to those who wait.

BESTCHEESTEAKSEVER in my opinion, I grew up in wilmington and I go back all the time from Maryland, no cheesteaks like that around here. But now travel to the one at Peoples Plaza and the Italian with everything is the best also, I have traveled to a many states and they still dont make em like Casapullas. Thanks for staying consistant over all the years we been coming there :)

Kills me to downgrade what was my favorite sub shop but alas I must. Since I have moved to Ohio I dream of Casapullas(Jersey Mikes is as good as it gets here). The last two times I have been back to the shop, July and December, I’ve been disappointed. The bread seems the same and the meat is ok, I think they are not executing the build. Thus the sandwich is dry and lifeless. In some ways I hope that it is their fault which can be fixed and not my taste buds becoming mid westernized. In either case watch out Casapullos, I hear Primo Hoagies is either there or coming… Ummmm Thumans lunch meat.

It doesn’t get better than Casapulla’s. I’ve been coming here my entire life and never had a bad experience. Fresh ingredients, local bread and the best quality meats and cheeses. You can get great homemade meatballs, side salads and desserts to take home as well. 1) Order ahead of time — it’s the best way to go because they are very busy. 2) When you arrive to pick up, grab anything else you want right away(chips, soda etc) and go stand to the left of the register. This is where they look for call in orders. When they see you with chips and soda they know you already have an order called in. 3) Have patience! This is a small family run business. They will ask«who has a call in order?». When they do, give them the name you used when you called. Most likely it’s ready but if it’s not, have patience. Everything is made fresh and it’s worth the wait. You don’t want to eat something that has been sitting around for a long time and they don’t want to give you something like that. For a special treat try the Italian sub with prosciutto, it’s outstanding!

I met my greatest girlfriend in 1970 when she worked at Casapullas. There is a girl named Loretta that STILLWORKSTHERE she is cool. I visit Delaware every summer and the subs(I get italian) are WORLDCLASSGREAT plus Louis Casapulla is super cool I’m coming back again this year and one of the greatest things in life is a sub from Casapullas I really can’t grasp the 1 star reviews it Never ever happened to me in 43 years pretty sure you have an above average chance of getting a GREATGREATGREAT sandwich at this place. I live in Long Beach California now and have traveled the world extensively I NEVER had a sandwich as good as theirs anywhere and have purchased many 2 and 3 and 4 and 5 hundred dollar meals in my extensive journeys. I can’t understand ANY1 star reviews of this place. Used to eat at Mrs. Robinos too cheese ravioli which was GREAT! The other great sandwich was Turkey sub at Capriottis she cooked turkeys EVERYDAY fresh don’t even know if it still exists but Delaware has a few treasures that can’t be found anywhere else INTHISWORLD I am living proof. I know Picottis is no longer serving their steaks but I NEVER had a steak(soaked for hours in liquid) Filet Mignon to be exact that came even close to that place. I can’t wait to order an italian sub from Loretta(I hope) at Casapullas this summer and go across the street where the picnic tables are and wolf it down because it’s so world class it’s hard to go slow. I am the hardest customer to please on this earth and I have no affiliation to this place whatsoever I live over 3000 miles away.

AWFUL!!! I went to Casapulla’s on Saturday, August 25th as my 82 year old mom really wanted an Italian sub. Had to wait 30 minutes to place my order. I ordered 2 Italians and 1 cheese steak. Couldn’t wait to get home and eat my Italian. The subs were AWFUL!!! The cheese steak sub was a steak um strip thrown on a roll. They couldn’t even chop it up and the Italians were no hot peppers and had hot pepper. Asked for mayo and oil — 1 sub had a touch of each the other sub was bathed in mayo and oil. Save you money and go somewhere else!!!

My parents have eaten here since they were kids and so have I. It’s the BEST place to get any sub or steak sandwich. Don’t be fooled, this is the ONLY Casapulla’s. The others have no relations to this family owned store. If you want a great quality sandwich go here. The best thing to do is go in and order, they get done faster that way since they know you’re there and ready. :)

Yes I am from Delaware but I’ve eaten lots of cheesesteaks and this place makes the best cheesesteaks. Mushrooms, onions, provolone. Do this now.

One of the many great Subs & Steak place in Wilmington. From the Italian to any of their cheesesteaks, you’re in for a good sandwich. It is important to note a few things for people that have not ordered there before: 1.) You are definitely going to want to call ahead of time and place your order, they are a not so well kept secret and it’s always busy, unless you go at a really odd hour. A call-in with a few sandwiches should take no more than 25 mins, but 25 mins waiting at the store is way too long, but can happen if you go during the lunch hour rush. 2.) In addition, it is an order out place only, no seating, but this works well for this place because they don’t specialize in environment, they specialize in making great sandwiches. Even more of a reason to call in advance and not order anything on site.

I heard about this place on . It got favorable reviews as being among the best sub place in Delaware. On my way home from a business trip I decided to stop in and check it out. I ordered a cheesesteak with fried onions and a store-roasted turkey sub with the works. The cheesesteak is comparable to the best you can get in the top-of-line Philly places. Only thing is they don’t serve cheez whiz so if you are a fan of cheez whiz you won’t get it here. The cheesesteak was very tasty. It had good fresh flavor. The onions were cooked perfectly and good quality provolone was used. The best part of the sub was the roll(which often separates a good cheesesteak from a great cheeseteak) Their roll was soft and just chewy enough. Great texture. It also was just crisp enough on the outside. This is among the best cheesesteaks I have tasted in the Delaware Valley that can come close to reputable Philly shops. The combination of flavors was good and it was not a greasy blob like you get at so many sub shops. Though Tony Luke’s in Philly is still my overall favorite with just a bit better flavor and a better roll. The area where Casapulla’s excels is in the store-roasted turkey sub. This was by far the best turkey sub I have ever had. The turkey was moist, flavorful, fresh and truly delicious. Combined with the awesome roll and fresh toppings, it was over the top. If you want to try the best turkey sub in the Delaware Valley this is the place to go for sure. They also put out a first-rate cheesesteak as well but their turkey sub is surely worth the detour.

Truly the best Italian sub, hoagie, whatever you wanna call it, anywhere… period. Sorry Cappriotti’s, but you’ve got the turkey, though. The steak sandwiches are not the best so I would stay away from those, but their Italian sub is out of this world and the only reason I am giving them 4 stars, based in this one sandwhich alone. It is truly the perfect balance of fresh-baked roll, fine Italian meats, veggies one could hope to compile. WARNING: This place is insanely busy(and fairly disorganized) any time you go in there, so call your order in, wait ½ hour(unless they say longer) and they will most likely start making your sandwhich after you arrive. All of this aside, it is truly worth it. They are take out ONLY, no eat-in.
