Culinary Adventures with Liz Biro

This tour is perfect for anyone who has friends or family in town for a visit… adults only is my suggestion. There are cocktails, bites to eat, food history, backdoor peeks into kitchens, live demonstrations by chefs, etc… Liz carefully packs a lot into a few hours. It’s a great girls night activity, celebrate a birthday, anniversary… etc. I know she also has gift certifcates if you’re looking for a good gift for a fellow foodie!

I picked this tour after hearing about it on Facebook and after many months of talking about going I decided this would be a good opportunity for my husband and I to do on our anniversary. Both of us are foodies and love to try new and exciting things so it was perfect for us. Liz was very informative about both the food and the history of downtown Wilmington and you can tell by her enthusiasm she definitely has a love for food. The tour normally runs from 2:30 — 5:30 but our tour was a little extended (at our request of course) because we were so interested in talking with chefs and tasting some of their amazing offerings. We visited several hot downtown Wilmington restaurants along the way and at each stop Liz briefed us on their unique history. We visited one restaurant’s kitchen and got to see first hand where all of the «magic» happens. We ended up visiting 7 restaurants and a surprise visit to a new local wine bar. Overall the tour was fantastic and I could tell Liz really picked her featured restaurants carefully. I would definitely recommend this tour to fellow foodies wanting to try something new. Whether for a special occasion or just something to do on a Saturday afternoon this tour will not disappoint. We are looking forward to trying Liz’s other tour featuring cocktails.
