I’ll bet that most of you Delawareans have no idea what is the highest point in your state. Well, it’s right here on Ebright Road and there’s a marker that points out that it is 447.85 feet above sea level. If the meteor from Deep Impact ever lands in the Atlantic, y’all are in serious trouble. Delaware actually has the second lowest highest point, barely losing out to FLORIDA! Oy. The marker reads: «The highest bench mark monument in Delaware is located on Ebright Road. This horizontal control mark denotes an elevation of 447.85 feet above sea level. The Delaware Geological Survey through its relationship with the National Geodetic Survey has determined that this bench mark monument is in the vicinity of the highest natural elevation in the state.» Though apparently, the real highest point is across the street in a mobile home park and it’s about two feet higher! The marker is very easy to find — just look for the radio tower. See also .
