Best burritos in Wilm DE. Better than Moe’s, Chipotle, and California Tortilla.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G! One of my favorite places to eat in Wilmington. Their food is always delicious and fresh tasting. I usually get a salad, which is very filling, and I recommend getting their steak. The flavor and tenderness of the steaks are one my favorites, better than chipotles steak for sure.

My wife and I walked in thinking that El Diablo’s was another Chipotle knockoff; however we were presently surprised! The staff was friendly, the food was fresh, the quality and selection was amazing! We would both recommend El Diablo’s and come back next time we were in the area.

I go to this location and the Newark location equally. It is my favorite place ever, and best food ever. I’m not ashamed to admit I go at least once a week. Very fresh, with great flavors, pepper varieties, and sauce/dressing varieties. I’m sad that one week I went they raised the price 50 cents, then the next week it was another 25 cents higher. But… I still pay it anyways. The line is always out the door at both places, which shows how great it is. The Newark location does not have enough seating sometimes. They have sodas that only use pure cane sugar.

I went to lunch with my siblings and it was pretty empty in the afternoon. The service was quick, it really reminded me of chipotle; you could choose your toppings for the salad that I got and my brother got a bowl, so he added rice. The corn topping was sweet and delicious. For people who like spicy, the pineapple topping is better. My sister got a pulled pork salad and I got the chicken salad and all were delicious! We also got guac and chips, which was totally worth it, and we took takeout boxes for our leftovers to bring for lunch tomorrow. Would totally come here again

Needed lunch in a bad way. This excellent burrito alternative to the-chain-I-won’t-name but recently had to close all its locations for a meeting on food safety. Not this place. Clean and well laid out. Cool and friendly employees. Had a burrito in a bowl. Picked my ingredients — chicken, beans, lettuce, salsa, and other things. A HUGE number of choices. Had a bottled water. The burrito was outstanding. Delicious. Two thumbs up — way up

Great lunchtime spot. This location is really great and the staff is super friendly. Lunchtime is the perfect time to grab a bite from their very expansive menu. It’s great to be able to create what you’re in he mood for. Now I love Chipotle but El Diablo truly gives them an EXCELLENT run for their money! Great place, great people, great food!

I’ve been here a million times, I have never had a problem with my food or the service and everything is great quality every single time. Everything is good– burritos, quesadillas, and burrito bowls and my dad loves the fish tacos. Prices are reasonable and there’s almost always leftovers for lunch the next day! 10⁄10 would recommend

This was my first time at this location and my husband’s first time all together. The food was awesome. I got chicken tacos and my husband got pork burrito. My only complaint is there was too much liquid in my tacos so they got soggy real fast. I would definitely come back tho. The staff weren’t very welcoming and i was kinda hoping the girl would have helped us decide on good options but she just stood there staring at us. None of the staff had personalities and were like robots

Until the afternoon I decided to try this El Diablo location, the only one I’d been to was the one in Trolley Square. I must say this location is a major improvement. The dining area here is significantly more spacious and comfortable than the one in Trolley Square. Everything else is comparable. Good service, fresh ingredients with a lot of choices, and large portion sizes. Definitely worth returning to.

I was back inthe area today and was looking for a new lunch spot. After spotting this on my phone’s GPS, I went right to Unilocal to read the reviews. The rating are consistently five stars and everyone seems to love it, so I was sold. Walking up to the counter for an early lunch, I asked about the Chicken Quesadilla,($ 8.) and was able to sample it first. It was so good, I ordered it. Chips were thin, light and crispy. The Blackberry Lemonade from the fountain was delicious and there were other flavors. I tried the fresh brewed ice tea, but not so good tasting. The place is very clean, trendy and spacious. Soon after I had sat down with my meal, the rush hour lunchers came pouring in like the reviewers had noted. This is a place I won’t hesitate visiting again.

I’ve been trying to come here any chance I get. Omg, love their pineapple salsa! Their salads are large and very flavorful. Whatever your salad eating desires are, you got it. Got the southwest chicken salad twice now. It’s hefty enough to keep you full way past lunch. It’s just so yummy and fresh.

I understand why it’s a popular go-to. A burrito is a filling meal and a good burrito is a plus. Just like Chipotle, you build your own burrito. Just like Chipotle, you choose all the layers of flavor less the hype and the regard for good farming practices. I recommend you find another hungry criminal who doesn’t care how his food was raised or humanely slaughtered, and share one for lunch.

Of the 3 current locations(Trolley Sq, Main St Newark are the other two), this one is my favorite. Mainly because it’s bigger. The food is tremendous. Portions are large and ingredients fresh. I taste flavors here in combinations I’ve never tasted before. The pineapple habenero salsa, red pepper walnut sauce and jalapeño honey dressing are fun to try with different options. Lunch lines here can get pretty long, but staff keeps things moving. Definitely recommend.

The 4 stars is for the food because it is always delicious. I am a regular at this location, but felt compelled to write a review based on my experience last night. Visited El Diablo at 9:05pm(the restaurant closes at 10pm). Walked in to see the entire staff cleaning and preparing to leave. I get it, they were mostly teenagers and probably wanted to head out asap. But I have to admit, the whole ordeal was not very professional. My husband and I were never greeted and were rushed through our whole ordering process. The girl helping us even had to go to the back table to get chicken and beans, it was not in the display area. She just dumped the beans on my husband’s burrito bowl without removing the excess water. We felt very rushed and we weren’t even dining in! I felt terrible for the father who walked in after us with his 2 daughters(at 9:10pm) and were eating in. The employees had the vacuum blaring like it was 9:40pm. As I previously mentioned, I love this place because the food is always very fresh. Just thought I should mention my latest experience because I really don’t want this establishment to get a bad reputation. The manager(hopefully a non teenager) needs to give customers ATLEAST till 9:30pm before he/she allows the staff to close shop. It’s unprofessional.

If you’ve done Chipolte grill you already know what El Diablo’s is all about. I’ll give their pork a slight edge and their portion sizes are a bit bigger. Quick service for a counter only joint. Seating is available including a few chairs outside. Place is bright and clean with a nice TV, Not a bad pit stop.

I got a chicken bowl and I must say it was quite tasty. Unlike the dry chicken offering at Chipotle, the chicken offered here was juicy and full of flavor. The décor of the restaurant was nice and the line moved quickly, especially for a place during the lunch time rush. My co-workers and I will definately be back.

Not a chain, though there is at least one other El Diablo in Wilmington, this does work pretty much the same as the other burrito places. Which is not to say it’s bad. Just that there’s a system that works well so stick to it. Salads, tacos, burritos. Pick your rice(I recommend the brown). Pick your beans(pinto or black). Pick your protein(I recommend the pork but the chicken was excellent). And then pick your cheese, salsa and other toppings. Maybe some bacon or chorizo? Because the other guys ain’t got that! Expect your burrito to be on the larger size of large. Like almost the size of a football. My only complaint is that the stuffings aren’t very mixed. You’ll get one bite of chicken, followed by one of salsa, followed by one of rice. There should be a jumble of flavors here and it shouldn’t be like eating a wrapped Swanson’s TV dinner. $ 7.50 for a massive burrito was a decent deal. I opted not to have a drink or chips.

Great non chain burrito place. Lots of meat choices and great flavor profiles for salsa. Excited every time I get to eat here. The staff is always friendly and helpful when asking questions and will even let you try some things if needed.
