Horrible customers service. The son is the manager and is the most disrespectful person(and I use that word kindly because it would not be appropriate to use pissant) unfortunately for Wilmington Ohio it is the only Mexican Restaurant and they know that. Example. We went in for dinner and there was a line waiting and when I tried to ask if they were asking names 5 of the employees were sitting in a back room rolling silverware and just ignored me. The owners son allowed someone who came in after us to be seated first and then told me that he didn’t have time for this and walked away from me. Needless to say we found another restaurant and were treated with respect eve n though we had to wait for 30 minutes for our table. DONOTGOHEREIDYOUEXPECTTOBETREATEDAS A HUMANBEING. If the son is there you are no more than dirt under his shoes. Consumers beware.

This is not my favorite place to go for Mexican, but I sometimes go when I don’t feel like going out of town. My biggest reason for not liking this place is the cleanliness of the facility. The food itself is not too bad, but just don’t look closely at the facility’s cleanliness.

Taco Bell would have been a better choice. Service was great and every one is very courteous, but the food is not good, loaded with salt and very dry.

Mexican in Ohio??? You’ve found the jackpot! El Dorado hosted a birthday dinner for 20+ and it was fantastic. The service from beginning to end was top notch. They were very accommodating with our large group, put us towards the back of the restaurant with a good amount of space, and handled our orders like pros. They even split our checks correctly and without even asking. Let’s talk about the food. Mexican in Ohio sounds like death to me, but El Dorado brought me back to California and they do DAMNGOOD food here. The chips and salsa are on point. I had the fajitas(El Dorado Especial) which were the bomb, but I wish they gave me a choice between flour and corn tortillas. The beers were HUGE. Make sure you ask for a bottle unless you want 2.5 beers in a stein coming at you. The Margaritas looked huge too. BECAREFUL. They also accommodated a birthday cake we brought in. The servers brought out extra plates and spoons, sang a song, brought our a sombrero, and had the candles lit and ready to go! BIGPROPS to this gem in Wilmington. I would highly recommend this place over anything on that strip.

Me and my husband decided to get dinner at this restaurant. We were served warm chips and fresh sweet salsa. Our food was good and the server was responsive to us. I would come back again and give other menu options a try.

I would give it only one star but the members of our group who ordered food enjoyed it. My friend and I arrived about fifteen minutes after everyone else(we took a wrong turn), when we arrived it took ten minutes for us the order a drink and while the rest of our group received a order of chips and salsa per two people my friend and I didn’t(our group also devoured them all before we got there lol). We decided to go elsewhere for dinner because the service was slow and we didn’t want to hold up the group. However when they brought out everyones food out we asked the waiter for a order of chips and salsa which never ever came. I would have reminded him or asked him again but he never came back! We asked another waiter for the bill and had to wait another fifteen minutes to give it to another waiter. Maybe it was a off night but not being able to find a server to order or bring us the chips and salsa we asked for or pay or anything else is terrible.

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Wilmington, OH. The food is excellent, the staff is very friendly, the beers and drinks are good, and everything is priced very reasonably. Pro tip: get their chimichanga. It’s world class.

Work late, stuck in traffic, home with no dinner plans: «What do you want for dinner?» usually produces an «El Dorado» response. Wilmington doesn’t have much by way of real food options, so El Dorado is a sweet option that’s close to home, cheap, has friendly and speedy service, and a bar. After work and traffic, their inexpensive DOS Equis is pretty much the main draw. I’ve been to El Dorado more times than I can count, usually for their lunch specials with colleagues. Prices range between $ 6 – 8 for combos during the day, and only slightly higher for dinner. The food is consistent and is flavorful and fresh. The margaritas usually leave me a little disappointed, since they’re a little weak and light on the salt, so I’ve switched to ordering beer, which is always ice cold. Yay for a great place in our little town! This is a perfect spot for families, college students, and people just passing through town.

They were able to seat 20 of us with no wait, on a Friday night at 7pm. I can’t complain about that. The food was ok, but then again, you’re in a teeny tiny town in Ohio. You can’t expect Texas/New Mexico quality Mexican food. Complimentary chips and salsa was nice, though. I had fish tacos, without the soft taco wrap, and the portion of fish, while small, was pretty good. You really can’t ask for too much this far north of the border, so for what it is and where it is, it’s decent. The margaritas were good, but a little light on the booze. The beers were pretty big though, and they’re relatively inexpensive. There isn’t much selection in town, and that’s why when I return next year this will be one of my stops.

After a couple similar visits; food is mediocre and bland. Nothing special about the margaritas.. On a positive note, big draft beers are truly big.

Food is surprisingly good being well north of the border. Chips and salsa start your meal. The salsa is very mild so if you want a kick, order a side of pico de gallo. Service is above average and prices very reasonable. Full bar with great margaritas.

It has gone downhill over the years. The food is a little bland. Its salsa is more like ketchup. But, the service is always excellent. The place needs to be fixed up a little – when it first opened it was gorgeous and now it needs a facelift(seating needs to be replaced and bathrooms stink). It’s the best thing we have going in Wilmington, however, and I still eat there reguarly.

Good Mexican style food, however it’s not«authentic» Mexican fare. Excellent service and very reasonable prices.
