Wonderful product and service. I was unsure about what type of seating chart I wanted and the owner patiently worked with me showing all variations I suggested and gave me excellent advise. So happy with the finished product.

My fiancé and I worked with Litzie from Especial Day and we couldn’t be more pleased with the invitations and customer service we received! Litzie is the owner of the adorable little store located right in Trolley Square, Wilmington. We met in person with Litzie twice at her shop and she was also always available by phone or email. Litzie has a great inventory of invitation books that she helped us go through one by one — she quickly got a sense of our style and assisted us with picking the perfect invitation for what we had in mind. Litzie also offered guidance in choosing the right language to use on our invitations, and she was knowledgeable about every detail that came up as we finalized our order. I love our invitations and am so happy to recommend Especial Day to anyone in the area looking for beautiful and affordable invitations!

This shop is wonderful for gifts, even if the gift is for oneself. As a postal substation it offers the basic services, but that’s okay. The main post office is for the big or complicated stuff. I particularly appreciate the shop for its invitation(and other card) printing service. Litzie is VERY pleasant and even remembers to ask about people for whom I’ve bought gifts in the past. A BIG asset to the Trolley Square community.

I have been shopping at the Especial Day Gift Shop(that has an attached very small and limited contract postal station, which is the last of it’s kind) for the past 20 years. One thing that this store has that is becoming extinct in the current age of the internet is real down to earth customer service. Litzie, the owner, has always treated me like family and has gone above and beyond to help me have an incredible shopping experience. I have many friends and family that have shopped here over the years and they would also report that they have always enjoyed shopping here. This past year she was a life saver when she helped me with my wedding invitations and place cards. She went out of her way to email me scanned images of fonts to choose from, spent time working on the wording, sent proofs, and even addressed and mailed out my invitations and sent me my place cards, that everyone loved!(It meant so much especially since I live in Denver, CO, but she does this for anyone regardless of distance). I would highly recommend The Especial Day in Trolley Square, Wilmington, DE, to anyone. I always make a point of stopping in when I come home.

I really wanted to like to store and admit they have some cute gift items that I probably would have bought but their service leaves much to be desired. I called yesterday to see if they accept Priority Boxes to ship and was flatly told that they are just a sub station and much too busy to answer calls. I called to save them time??? One of those stores where I feel if you dress a certain way you are treated like gold but if you are dashing in after the gym then you are treated with disdain. Mentioned this to a few friends and all responded as I did. I’ll take my business elsewhere. If you loathe having this sub station then perhaps shut it down?

I was referred to Litzie and her adorable shop by a friend who had used her business and had been very satisfied with her services and products. I am so glad I took that recommendation! Litzie is kind, patient and works hard to ensure that your stationery needs are your style and meet your price range. Through Especial Day, we ordered Bridal Shower Invitations, Wedding Invitations(including Respond cards, accommodations cards, etc.), Thank You Notes, Place Cards, Programs, and a very cool return address stamp. Litzie worked with us for hours to pick out the styles that we wanted and pick out the appropriate wording that was right for us. She is very responsive through email and phone, so there was never a problem getting a hold of her when I needed to double check how to word an address or formal name. Not only am I extremely happy with all of the stationery, but Litzie also resolved an issue we had with a typo with a smile on her face and in record time.(I think the issue may have been our fault anyway — a miscommunication about editing.) Her little store is adorable and filled with delicious smells of Crabtree and Evelyn products, sweet baby gifts and greeting cards. I would definitely recommend using Litzie and Especial Day.

UPDATE: *WARNING*, do not use this place to mail any packages. I’ve used the store’s ‘postal sub station counter’ several times. It is not run by an USPS employees but is staffed by the shop’s owner, the woman mentioned below, although it is or is supposed to be an ‘official’ post office sub station. After getting very suspicious about the rates she was charging me to mail books, I finally compared by getting her to stamp the prices on my packages then bringing them to another near by USPS. She has been charging me over 100% MORE! Not just a bad shop, but a dishonest one. — - — - Unfortunately, the odd yet unique spelling of this little shop’s name is the end of anything special about ESpecial day. The shop is a mish-mosh of sparse and dated greeting cards, shelves of stuffed animals and bric-à-brac items ranging from the obligatory faux wooden signs saying things like«Believe» and«Live, Laugh Love» which one would find in any similar ‘gift shop’ in a dieing tourist town, to dusty Beanie Babies and perfumey off-brand candles. While ESpecial Day really has a potential if the game would be stepped-up, it’s the sour faces of the two owners, an older husband/wife team which makes the experience of shopping or doing business here repulsive after the first unpleasant, unwelcoming visit. The shop hosts a U.S. Postal Service counter which serves as the strip center’s post office sub-station. I’ve been here several times now to mail items and to browse the selection looking for small gifts. I haven’t purchased anything yet but that’s likely due to the dour shop keeper, barely capable of greeting you as you enter the door, never a smile and seemingly miserable and hating the existence of anyone darkening the doors of her store, ESPECIALLY if one is there to mail items from the postal counter. The unfriendliness is almost tangible and you’re afraid to ask any questions past the first for fear the snapping turtle behind the counter might chomp a pound of flesh from your neck. I thought perhaps she was just having a bad day, but learned after my second visit that she’s apparently as void of welcoming friendliness as the menagerie of stuffed animals on the shop shelves. If you’re in the area and need a greeting card, candle or stuffed monkey, try the drug store next door or head to a mall and let the sun set on this not-so-especial day.
