Walked in alone on a business trip, made me welcome and at home, great attentive service as needed. A great experience. Would definitely recommend, walking distance from nearby all hotels.

Place was empty. Service was indifferent. Ordered the Pulled Pork with streamed broccoli and collard greens. Pork: Inedible fatty salt bomb. Collard greens: Enough salt to start your own ocean. Sent ‘em back and walked out. Now I now why the place was empty.

Got the Feast for Two. More than enough food for two people. Drink special: Sweet Mama’s Punch was awesome. My husband had to drive after I drank it.

Not sure what happened to their recipes. All the meats were properly cooked, tender and moist, occasionally a little dry. Nothing changed there but what’s the deal with the sauce? All meat used to be just meat, then you can choose whatever(5 different Dave’s flavors), your sauce are going to be… But now your dish is smothered by sweet BBQ sauce(which I hate) on everything including chicken! You don’t have any chance to use their sauces any more. Why are they still placed there on the table, for what? I’m probably not coming back for a while. If I can find a good BBQ place, I may cross it off my list for good.

My family love this place. Sometimes they forget to give my children their Oreo cookie and kids really be upset over it. Other than that. Food is delicious. Staff is friendly.

I love BBQ. I try it wherever I go so when this one popped up on my radar as I am staying at a nearby hotel I gave it a try with little expectations as Delaware is not famous for its BBQ. But the result was far better than expected. Decent service, huge portions and good meats. I had the rib and rib, half baby back ribs, half spare ribs and it came with 2 sides plus corn bread. The baby back ribs were a little dry but the spare ribs were to die for, juicy, melting in your mouth, amongst the best I have had. The baked beans were decent, not the most intense tasting or meaty but decent. The mashed potatoes were a surprise, truly flavourful. The corn bread actually tasted good and I am not a fan of corn bread usually, but this one was not too sweet. My only complaint would be that you can’t choose your BBQ sauce on the ribs. Yet there are 4 or 5 different kinds on the table which must be for other dishes but on the ribs, you have to go with their choice… Which might be the best… Or not. Overall I think I will go back to try the brisket and the pulled pork. Those sauces on the table must be there for a reason.

The food was pretty good. Loved the Rich and Sassy. Cornbread was excellent. Corn was a little soggy. Homemade chips were great. Pulled pork sandwich good but not elite. My wife had the ribs and said they were«pretty good.» The kids had chicken fingers — I thought those were pretty good too. The service was really good. The waitress was new but she knew her stuff and was attentive. The manager asked us a couple times how everything was and provided some gap service while our waitress was helping someone else. Overall pretty good. I’d probably give it 3.5 stars if that was an option. I say that because I have had some pretty elite BBQ and, while this was good, it’s not quite on 4 star level. Definitely closer to 4 than 3 stars though. That said, we’ll go back!

Definitely at the top of the list — I love everything about this restaurant, both quality and quantity. My partner and I try to limit ourselves to only a few sessions of meat engorgement per year, so this location holds a special place in our hearts. One of my favorite things about eating here is the free homemade chips and selection of sauces brought before the meal. There are 5 or so barbecue sauces to choose from and each have a different taste and flavor profile. My personal favorite is the Sweet n’ Tangy — a simple sweet smoky sauce — closely followed by Rich n’ Sassy a hearty, slightly spicy sauce with hints reminiscent of Old Bay(must be celery seed). Their hottest sauce, Devil’s Spit, is definitely around the pleasantly-but-not-too-hot threshold that is perfect for just a little kick. There’s not much special about the other two, but that’s just my preference. The babyback ribs are fantastic, they have a sweet sticky sauce on the outside and a smoky mesquite flavor all around the bone. Plus they heat up just fine in the microwave — anyone who’s been here knows that leftovers are inevitable. If you aren’t in the mood for messy barbecue there’s a good selection of tasty sandwiches to choose from. Excellence every time.

Famous Dave’s is one of my favorite restaurants but this location lacks. Typically Dave’s is very consistent with its BBQ and its usually fantastic! My wife and I stopped here on a trip home from NY and the food was off. Certainly not up to the Dave’s standards I’m used to. Service was very good though. I will most likely give this location another shot when driving through but sincerely hope it was an isolated event.

WEDNESDAY Evening — We were greeted immediately by the greeter and seated right away and told our server would be right over. He took note that we had a little one and gave him some crayons to keep him occupied. 2 minutes later Famous Crystal(cute twist-all the servers are FAMOUS) came over to introduce herself. She took our drink order and gave us a few minutes more to order our food because we weren’t quite ready. She started us of with the chips and went over the differrent flavors of sauces they had after asking if we were familiar. I tought this was awesome. We ordered the platter for 2 — chicken, pulled pork and briskets on bread($ 4 more), corn on the cob, cole slaw, baked beans, corn muffins, ribs and potato wedges. More food than the 3 of us could eat. We ended getting 2 carry out containers for the rest of the food. The food came out quickly. I felt there could have been a little bit more spice to the meats, but then again I love spicy food. Even the sauces at the table didn’t include extra spicy. I didn’t like the fact that Famous Crystal brought a $ 10 and 3 ones as my change instead of 2 fives. Almost as if she thought I would give more than a 25% tip. I stuck with the 15% guide and ended up doing 18% or so. All in all I liked it! Serviced was fast, server courteous and we enjoyed our family time.

If your looking for real deal BBQ this is not the place. It’s a chain restaurant serving typical bland uninspired food. Made the mistake and came here. Luke warm food that was tasteless. I do have to say the service was good and the drinks are cold.

I’m glad to see that Famous Dave’s is doing extremely well to where they don’t have to consider the customer. We requested the Feast for Two but asked if we could change the chicken for a different meat. This had not been an issue in the past and we always purchased extra. This time there are NO substitutions and we had to choose some thing else. Well, we ended spending considerably less and were upset with the server and the restaurant. Amazing policy changes in this economy.

Went here for lunch yesterday after a bad experience at a different location over 1 year ago. I have to say I was much happier than my last visit. The place was empty, so our server was very attentive. She explained the different BBQ sauces they have and brought out their complimentary chips. They were excellent. I had the lunch combo of brisket and rib tips. The brisket was served on a large, slightly toasted slice of bread. It was tender and had just the right amount of fat on it. The rib tips were crunchy on the outside, but very juicy and tender inside. The corn muffin that came as a side was the best part of the meal. It was excellent. You have to understand that this is a chain restaurant, so the BBQ is not really authentic, but for this area, it will definitely do when you have a craving.

Great service… Worse BBQ ribs I ever had. They were burnt and extremely salty. Actually, even my broccoli was too salty. Even the sauces were mediocre. Best items on my plate were the corn muffin and grilled pineapple. Others with us enjoyed the pulled pork, but have had better elsewhere. Been wanting to go there for years. Planned this trip on our way to Wilmington from PA for a Blue Rocks baseball game. Should have eaten at the Stadium! We will not be going back.

I’m rounding up to 3 stars. Server was very friendly. Chips were pretty decent. Everything else was mediocre at best. Pulled pork was not very good. Corn on the cob was mushy(either frozen or had been sitting around for several days). I’ll stop at the TGIF or Olive Garden next time.

Famous Daves, famously Sucks. Ribs overcooked, fatty. Ribs are not supposed fall off like they were cooked in a crockpot. Corn sent back, ice cold. Came back hot but tasted like eating a water balloon. They must leave the corn in water all day. I have no idea how this place remains open.

This restaurant is in a row with a few other chain restaurants with a shared parking area off US-202 on the southbound side. There is traffic light access from US-202 northbound at Rocky Run Parkway. There didn’t appear to be any shortage of parking spaces, although I would note that I visited the restaurant when it wasn’t terribly busy. The restaurant and restroom seemed clean enough. The décor is intended to be a bit rustic/rural with pipes used as door handles and such. Service was good. The meal begins with a complimentary serving of chips. I thought the serving of chips was on the small side, but it’s free so I can’t complain. It’s also an opportunity to try the five sauces on the table. I have to say though that their hottest sauce, the«Devil’s Spit», isn’t really that hot. I had to use a lot of it before it even began to burn. For the actual meal, I had a Georgia chopped pork and catfish combo platter. In addition to one side order, this dish comes with a corn muffin and corn on the cob. I thought the portion size was pretty good, maybe enough to have leftovers to take home if you’re not a big eater. The pork and fish seemed well-prepared.

This place is good as long as you get the actual barbecue. I’ve gotten salmon before and now I know why they push the meat. I got the rib tips and there was so much food, I had enough for 2 days of left overs. Our server Jackie was really nice and explained the different sauces they had, and our food came out very quickly. The place has the typical chain restaurant décor, its supposed to look like your down home in the bayou but I’m sure that every Famous Dave’s has the same pieces hanging on their walls. Close to the Concord Mall and the shops on 202.
