Use UPS no question!.. After waiting at home for my heavy package to arrive and checking online for it’s status Fedex leaves a message «delivery exception: noone home or business closed» WRONG. no Fedex person came to the door, no Fedex person rang the bell and no Fedex ticket left re: delivery. Hmmmm if you are unable to do your job or don’t have time DON’T LIE just note you will be back the next day. Train them right and dicipline them appropriately Fedex c’mon now Fedex manage your people! This is for the Fedex Wilmington, Ma Office that gets shipments from CT.

Also had trouble like other reviewers getting my package because I was «not home» when I was actually present to sign for a delivery.

How can the customer not be home when they were? I have been waiting for the package to arrive and even tried signing up for the notifications. NOTHING. They purposely want us to drive over to their location to pick up orders ourselves. Waste of time.

I wish I could give 4 stars to the individual working there on a Saturday (and the fact that there was only 1 is an issue to me) and negative 2 stars to the rest of the experience here. Today I learned there is a difference between a Fed Ex Express Center and a Fed Ex Office Center. The former cannot do everything. My other beef was with the customer support center of a different business and their unacceptable instructions for returning something by Fed Ex and not explaining where one has to actually go to return-​ship their item.
You also need to plan for more time to visit here than you might think, especially on a Saturday. This place is in a remote back section of an office park off the main drag. Thank goodness they have a bright sign you can see from a distance. But because most of their business is transacted on weekdays, they’re better staffed on those weekdays and not so well staffed on the weekends. Today it was just 1 person. Yet for many of people, Saturday is often the only day they can come here to take care of those incomplete transactions. With 1 person behind the counter, if there is a line, or someone in front of you has a problem, you can wait quite a while. Also, if you just happen to be paying cash for your transaction, plan for a bit more time. The majority of the transactions are electronic; if you plan to use actual money, they have to retrieve some from the back.
If this is the place you have to go to take care of a Fed Ex deliver, my condolences. If you have a choice, consider the one in Woburn.

I sent a package from Charlotte, North Carolina to Boston on Feb 6, 2014. The package was scheduled to be delivered on Monday Feb 10. I followed it online and in the afternoon a message showed on the screen that there was a delivery exception .it indicated that either the business was closed or that the person who was scheduled to receive the package was not there. I checked with the person and found that they were there the entire day and that the business was open all day .On Tuesday the item was placed on the truck again for delivery. In the afternoon the same delivery exception message appeared stating that the business was either closed or that the person was not there and once again i verified with the person who was to receive it that they were there all day and that the business was open for business. I then contacted Fed Ex several times by phone, e mail and online chat .No one has been able to give me an answer as to why these delivery exception messages are on line when none of them are true. Likewise when I mailed the package I requested direct signature. It clearly stated that if the person is not there then anyone at that address can sign for it. Therefore even if the person that I sent the package to had not been there, a receptionist or anyone else there could have accepted the package. I was actually told by a customer service rep on the phone that direct signature means only that person can sign for it and not anyone at that address.!. Clearly this employee does not know what the fed Ex ground shipping form states as this is not true. I would like to know why Fed ex tolerates drivers who do not put down honest statements about deliveries and why employees do not know what the term direct signature states. I see that others have had similar problems with this shipping center. The package still has not been delivered. Corporate needs to look into the problems with this center or better yet close it.
Today, Wednesday I received an e mail from a customer rep stating that the item was on the truck and that the driver had tried to reach me three times by phone for delivery instructions. He told the rep the line was busy. I was home all morning and no one rang on the phone and i was not talking to anyone. on the phone. The e mail requested an alternate number to help the driver make the delivery. I provided two for him so that he could talk to the person in Boston who was to receive the package and so that he could direct the driver when the driver called. No one has called and the package has yet to be delivered. The building is quite visible in downtown Boston and I find it hard to believe that the driver did not know where to deliver the package. There is an item called GPS .I am sure fed ex provides its drivers with this for deliveries. Likewise the alternate number was on the shipping form that i filled out, a copy of which went on the package itself .I do not believe that further instructions were needed.
The package just arrived. They found their way easily to the office with no calls. It has been traveling for seven days. when it normally takes two. ! What has become of Fed Ex?

If only I could give zero stars to the dumbest drivers in the world who have twice not delivered to the location specified for the shipping. If only I could give zero stars for the least helpful call center. If only I could give zero stars for the three hours I spent on the phone tracking down the package and what went wrong with the shipping on the first go around and then finding a solution to only have it go wrong again on the second try. Infuriating.

Although my package was 45 minutes late (was supposed to be available for pickup at 6:30, didn’t come back until nearly 7:30), the staff here was friendly and accommodating. I didn’t feel too inconvenienced, and while waiting I was able to watch them interact with other customers, and I would definitely not mind coming back again!
If you’re using a GPS to find this location though, take care – mine brought me to the business just before this one, so keep driving past that and you’ll see the FedEx sign!
