Had a great meal. I order the Oyster Po’Boy w/onsite homemade chips. Sandwich had it all crispy, tender, tasty and freshness! Chips were outstanding — crispy and seasoned perfectly. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.(Thanks for being right on top of the situation when my sugar level went low. You all did the right things. The extra effort was not unnoticed!)

Excellent place to grab lunch and enjoy the intercostal view. Ordered the mahi mahi tacos and Hawaiian tuna wrap. Both were tasty. Not overly seasoned and fairly reasonable. Service on the patio was good and they allowed us to casually cruise through our meal and enjoy a gorgeous day without being rushed.

It was my first time in Wilmington so me and my co workers chose a random spot on the water. We were greeted by three super friendly girls, one of which was Abby, our server. We didn’t order too much, as it was practically our breakfast, but Abby was super helpful and recommended a perfect light option– peel and eat shrimp! The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. If I’m ever in Wilmington again I will definitely come back! Thanks Abby!

Nice little dive spot on the inter coastal. Very young staff… I’m assuming all college kids but friendly and efficient. The mahi tacos is what the bartender recommended and they were excellent! Fish is caught by local fisherman. Good prices as well.

We found this tiny restaurant tucked off Eastwood Road right on the Intercoastal Waterway. We were seated at one of the high tops with a view of the patio. Our server was very attentive and helpful, giving suggestions for our sides and beverages. The BF opted for fish with the lemon peppers fries. I got the crab burger in a pretzel roll with a side salad. Both meals were delicious, well prepared with fresh ingredients. Can’t wait to come back and visit again.

Am currently eating here we got the calamari here and it is outstanding! Crunchy paired with a tangy sauce=wowza. It could also be used as a marinade to possibly make an epic chicken dish loving this place! Update since Unilocal deleted my review. The ahi wrap lurking on the back page of the menu is heavenly. With a combination of pineapple, cilantro, and apparently magical unicorn dust, I have fallen in love with this dish. The buffalo shrimp on the front page was seasoned perfectly that it makes the blue cheese dip redundant. I sit here and will confirm that the crab burger is fantastic. Other reviewers have stated its greatness, but the reviews do not encompass the beauty of the sandwich. The bun, pretzel, was coated in provolone cheese, which when picked up adhered to the crab party which did not fall apart! yummmmmm. The side sauce, added the optional heat to the dish that I craved. The greens, fresh and crunchy, separated as I took bite after bite. I murdered that burger in –2 minutes and those 2 minutes were the best that I have spent in Wilmington.

Beautiful view of the Inter coastal waterway. I ordered the fish and chips and it was very delicious. Both the fries and the fried cod were very crispy and came out hot. My husband ordered their signature Mahi-mahi dish, which he absolutely loved. He said it was one of the best fish dishes he had ever eaten. Our server was friendly, and presented us with the daily special(which was helpful in our case, since my husband had decided to go with a the salmon until she told us about their special, and afterwards he was very glad he had went with her recommendation). We went during a time when they were not very busy at all, so we got a small room in the back all to ourselves, which was nice since it had a wonderful view. The only negative thing that I have to say about this place is that the menus were dirty and could use a little updating. I would recommend this place to a friend.

My husband and I had just finished a walk on the beach, and we were hungry for lunch. Fish House Grill is located on the intracoastal waterway and features a deck with an amazing view. We were fortunate to be seated there. I ordered the green salad with blue cheese dressing and fried oysters. The ingredients were fresh and the salad came with a generous portion of crispy oysters, so many that I shared a couple with my husband. He got the mahi filet sandwich and enjoyed it very much. The lemon pepper fries could have used a bit more flavor, but they were not greasy. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly and courteous. I am sure that this place will come to mine when we go on another beach walk.

Best crab cake that I’ve ever had! You can taste the freshness of the crab, and there wasn’t a lot of stuffing like at most places. If I had to change anything it would be the onion rings… kind of a doughy batter and the sauce wasn’t anything to brag about. This was definitely a great dinner and will be back very soon.

Andrew and I spent over three hours in the USS North Carolina and had to rush to get out before closing time. We were hungry for seafood and the four of us reached a consensus on Fish House Grill. I will say that parking around this place can be a bit of a challenge, but we found an unpaved lot that seemed to be designated with their sign and it still had places available. It was a beautiful evening so we ate outside on the long deck that fronts the parking lot but overlooks the marina. The only downside to this is the smokers who go out to the parking lot to dice with lung cancer. Somehow the end of the parking lot does not stop the stench cloud that can float past the end. Fortunately this did not get really bad until near the end of our meal. We started with New England style clam chowder and it was as good as any that I have had outside of New England. I felt funny ordering this style on the NC coast, but it was really well executed. It was not over thickened or pasty. I liked the small bits of potato, almost like they were riced, but small. It had a perfect level of thyme and perfect salt. Best of all it had great clam flavor and minimal sand. Nothing was heavy handed. We like to make chowder at home and I think this was better. I made a few notes. We ordered seafood platters all around the table; one shrimp, one shrimp and flounder, one shrimp and oysters and one grilled shrimp. The coating was slightly heavier than I usually see on the Carolina coast. It had a little more texture and crunch, but was not too heavy. There was black pepper in the coating. The shrimp were good quality, very mild. I’m assuming they were a Fall season variety, caught local. The preparation of the flounder and oysters was similar. Both were good, fresh and mild. The slaw was OK, ordinary. The O-rings were very large slices, but seemed to be house-made, a little peppery, like the shrimp. This was a good meal, probably 3−½ star seafood, rounding up on the strength of the chowder.

If I’m honest, this is a strong 3. But I will give benefit of the doubt and award 4, for reasons I will describe. After a lot of BBQ and burgers, we opted for seafood for this meal — after all, we’re in the right area for that too. We all started with a cup of the clam chowder. This is why I’m saying 4 stars, because this was really exceptional chowder. It’s one of the few restaurant chowders that can really stand up to the recipe my family makes at home. Great flavor, not over thickened or gooey, and plenty of clam, both ground and larger chunks. I could make a meal out of that alone, no problem. My entrée was the fried shrimp and fried flounder platter, and these were… good, but not exceptional. The shrimp were fine, but not over the top flavorful and maybe a little over battered. Flounder was good, but also not incredibly flavorful. It wasn’t bad by any means, but I guess I’d had so many knock my socks off meals lately that this was a tiny bit of a letdown. We also had sides of onion rings and fries — the rings are *huge* with a nice batter, but the fries, which are advertised as lemon pepper, are neither. They were just… boring fries that actually needed some salt. Our server was friendly, and we were able to sit right down on a Friday night, which I wouldn’t have expected. I’d certainly come back, if not only for the clam chowder, but also to try a few other things on the menu.

The atmosphere and view from the patio of the Intracoastal waterway were great. The food and service were just average, thus the three stars. I went with the fried oyster and flounder combo which came with curly fries and cole slaw($ 19). Pretty long wait for the food. They were very busy though so that could be overlooked I suppose(complementary bread/hush puppies would have been nice). My food was ok, but not great. It sounds funny to say this, but the fish tasted a bit fishy and the oysters were somewhat gritty. Probably not the best food option in the area but a decent choice for an informal restaurant on the waterway.

DAYUMM!!! Blackened Mahi Mahi was thee absolute best mani I’ve experienced this side of the coast, and that is a strong statement considering that I eat primarily fish from over 40 major cities across the US that I frequent. Cooked just right, seasoned perfectly, I didn’t need any of the sauce however the tarter sauce they gave was homemade and was perfect for dipping for extra flavor. Lemon Pepper fries, tasty, but they are stingy with the portion. But very tasty. They are curly. I did not rate drinks since I was hydrating from a day at the beach. Ambiance was decent outside, but like all Carolina spots, eat quickly before the flies figure it out. Right on the water. Chairs were uncomfortable, but ehh… the food was relish. My friends Mahi tacos were on point too but again that’s because the Chef must have woke up that day thinking he was the Spartacus of fish! LOL Great look, best find in Wilmington during my trip.

Between 4 and 5 star for me. Every summer we go to Wrightsville beach. we found this restaurant three years ago. recommend this restaurant strongly. Fish and chips: fresh meaty moisture fish… well fried. so good. comes with thick crispy fries. Shrimp plates: it’s tasty enough. not my favorite. Shrimps are ok. comes with curly fries, which are not as good as the thick fries. Onion rings: Crispy. large. Key lime pie: best. best. so smooth. light. not too sweet. have to order this eve if we are so full from main dishes.

Great view of the intracoastal waterway, and watch the boats go by. I got the shrimp tacos with blue chips and the tacos were great and the chips were just meh. I wish I got something else such as french fries, which my girlfriend got, and they were great. She had my blue chips and I had her french fries. This is a great place to catch a quick lunch.

Nice spot on the Intra Coastal waterway. You can sit outside and view the boats docked at the marina and passing by, very scenic. They have a nice lunch menu of salads, sandwiches and platters. I had an Oyster Po Boy, and it was very nice. The service was good. We sat outside so we did not see the inside of the restaurant. The outside patio was very nice.

Wrightsville Beach is a vexing place. On one hand, you have some pretty nice and relaxed beaches. On the other, there is an absolute dearth of decent eateries and bars. I mean, for a destination beach, it’s pretty pathetic. Oh, and charging to go on the main boardwalk is a terrible business decision… In fact, I’m in Wilmington on business as I write this, but I’m staying in Wilmington for the simple reason that I stated before: it’s a food ghost town on the beach. The Fish House is amongst a string of restaurants on the marina and for an area with very little food, this place doesn’t really stand out as a great destination. I went there for fish and chips and some local beer and the food was fine, but since there is essentially no good food on the island, I was hoping this would be better. If I’m going to have to drive to dinner more than five minutes(and off the island), I want it to be worth it. This just barely cuts it.
