My manicure didn’t even last ONE day. So disappointed. Will not be returning.

I love this place and wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. I have been going here for over 3 years and have always left a happy customer. They always do a nice job especially Mylee who is the owner. She always has a smile and a greeting for all her customers and the staff is very friendly. The place is always clean. If I ever had a problem with a nail I returned and explained and she would fix it for me. I think that is great service. As a thank you to her customers you get to pick out a charm from the large selection she has at the check out desk for your Pandora type bracelets. Five Star Nails is my #1 choice for getting my nails to look beautiful and to treat myself to a relaxing pedicure and I highly recommend it to others!

Came here Friday with a friend. The chair didn’t work great — only a couple of settings worked. The nail technician kept pushing the more expensive pedicure even after repeating that I just wanted the basic — trying to make me feel bad for saying no to something that’s «just $ 5 more.» When my friend chose the 5-​star pedicure, I did end up finally agreeing to go with the technician’s annoying up sell just so I wouldn’t be done 15 minutes sooner.
Well, even at $ 26 the basic would’ve been overpriced. Paying $ 31 for the 5-​star pedicure was way too much. It’s a very average pedicure. I’ve done the same quality at home, except my polish wouldn’t already be coming off at the end had I done it myself.
Will not return on my next trip to Wilmington.

Clean, reasonably priced and attentive staff. I got a pedicure here while visiting Wrightsville and as a pregnant mama, was looking forward to having someone else paint my toes since I can no longer reach them. I noticed the nail polish wasn’t going on very smoothly (perhaps an older bottle) and sure enough, less than a week later only two toes have color left. I could have saved myself $ 30 and just had a friend paint them for that kind of quality.

I’ve been here many times over the years. They do a great pedicure… Sometimes… I never get manicures here because I’ve never had success with anything other than spas. This week I decided to give them a try for a shellac manicure. I regret it. I spent a total of $ 70 here and am having to get everything redone at a different location that I sometimes vary from because the prices are much higher. The prices are higher for a reason I think because when I leave there I don’t have to worry about going anywhere else to get things fixed. My feet: cuticles are still present and now even painted, the Polish is think and lumpy and the filing is uneven and rough on the edges. My hands: again the cuticles are present and painted along with a lot of the skin around my nails, the Polish is thick, lumpy, bumpy and has bubbles and finally the filing is rough and uneven. In addition, they smell weird. I went home and couldn’t identify where the smell was coming from. That would be my nails. No idea what it could be nor do I dare imagine. This may be my last trip to 5 star nails.

5 star is 5 star. Very clean and reasonable, and convenient. The staff is friendly and we had no wait. You get to pick what kind of pedicure soak you get, which is really cool.

We have been going to this salon for many years. I highly recommend them! Everyone is very professional and the salon is clean. When my family visits from out of town, they all request a visit to 5 star nails. It’s always a fun time for all of us! They’ve stayed open late because there were so many of us and never made us feel like they were rushing us. I’ve never had a bad experience there. Angie

I just got my eyebrows waxed here today. I left the salon in tears. I specifically said when she asked how I want them «not thin or short, I am trying to grow them fuller. I just want the strays cleaned up.» Well when I was handed the mirror I saw two PENCIL thin eye brows. She took off at least half if not more of the width of my eyebrow. Not only that but the left one is so thin you cant even see the ends so it looks like its only about a ¼ inch long. I was very upset because not only do my eyebrows look horrible, but I am getting married in one month and when I said how upset I was she tried to argue me and said they will grow back. Well yes I am aware eyebrows grow, but they will not look like normal eyebrows in a month. You can not go from this thin to normal looking in a month. Hopefully they even do grow back. She argued with me for at least 10 minutes when I was obviously upset, but trying to be polite and not insult her. I have never been treated worse or received worse customer service in my life. And on top of that my eyebrows look disgusting and I will have to pencil them in every day for a very very long time. DO NOT GO HERE!
