The food was absolutely delicious. Exceeded my expectations. This will now be my go to take out delivery.

Attention downtown Wilmington workers! Kebab and grill will deliver within a 5 mile radius of downtown. Uhhhh, I don’t know if that includes Leland. Sorry Leland. My husband and I ordered lunch to be delivered because we work from home and couldn’t make it out. He ordered the chicken tikka masala and I ordered the aloo gobi. Lots of food! Check out the pic. I couldn’t finish it all but the leftovers were yummy! I can’t handle spicy at all and my mild was perfect. My husband gets really spicy and he was sweating. What I’m getting at is they will give you the heat that you order. Don’t worry abt fighting the traffic and the parking and getting back to work on time. Get delivery!

Great place! Lunch specials are great. Ton of delicious food – soup, salad, small appetizer, naan, vegetable and choice of meal – for $ 10. Incredible value. Great ambience too. Outdoor seating available. Can see the river. Very nice décor in a historic structure. Great customer service too with very friendly staff.

While the food was good, it literally took one hour to get our dinner. After the waiter told us he would make some adjustment on the bill, he didn’t. The manager came out and asked us why we should have any adjustment as we eventually did get the food. The whole experience was very annoying. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant unless you have a lot if time and aren’t hungry when you arrive.

We love this place. It may rank as my teenage daughters’ favorite place. Get the Haryali Kabobs

The other half and I popped in for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. You could almost walk right past this place and miss it. While it appears small from the outside, it’s quite large inside with large, heavy tables and pretty ornate decorations. We settled in and both settled on the chicken korma lunch special for $ 10 each. It’s an extremely good deal. We got a fragrant, spicy soup to start with a fried onion dumpling for an appetizer, salad with homemade dressing, and we each received a large(not your typical lunch) size portion of the chicken with jasmine rice. Deliciously and perfectly spiced, the korma was one of the best ones I’ve had. They have a variety of other lunch combos all for $ 10, all 3 course. More than enough to take home and have another meal all over again. We are eager to hit again and try the other Indian cuisine. Protip: Don’t even attempt to park on the street by here or around it, it’s near impossible or pay parking. Skip the hassle and just park on Front and walk on down.

Great restaurant; friendly staff, delicious food, reasonable prices. Nothing more to add. If you’re in the mood for Indian food, this is the place to go. I was 100% satisfied with my experience here for New Year’s Eve.

Ambience and service both good. The food substandard. The lunch soup was a fairly bland American chicken soup but was served with a tasty Indian style fritter. The salad was a typical American salad but with an overly sweet dressing. The entrees were served with a basmati appearing rice but without the usual wonderful taste and aroma of basmati. The chickpeas that also came with the entrees were bland and no discernable Indian taste. Our entrees themselves were difficult to describe — at first taste you think Indian food but then it changed to something not quite Indian. I am not sure if the cook is trying to Americanize the food for the palate of the locals but he is not hitting the mark. Unfortunately, we thought that it was some of the worst Indian food that we’ve ever had. The restaurant is in a great location so I hope that they can make some changes for the better.

Very good. Authentic Indian. Rich buttery Masala. So good! Very gracious with bringing my meal quickly since I was under a time constraint. Helped me decide what to get and helped my bag it up. Also gave me a free second cup of soup for dinner. Beautiful interior. And nice music. Indian but with classical rhythms and instruments. Nice background for a meal. Lovely old building. Nice vibe. Food was awesome too. No doubt most anything will be good off the menu. Obvious time and care goes into preparation.

We did not expect to find such good authentic Indian here. The Lamb Chops and the Veg Pakoras are mouth watering. Overall the food tastes very authentic and the presentation of food is excellent. The ambiance is very well done. Def a place not to miss if you’re in this part of the country.

Not all that good and service not good. Owner did not seem that interested in making it a nice evening. Cannot recommend.

This restaurant is located along the Cape Fear River. It is nicely appointed and has indoor/outdoor seating. Because it was a lovely fall evening, we chose to sit outside. I am a vegetarian, and my husband consumes a plant based diet but will occasionally have a meat dish. We were pleased to see that Kabob and Grill featured a vegetarian section. We planned to order two veggie dishes and sample each other’s meal. I can’t recall the name of my dish, but I ordered a dish with vegetables and nuts in a cream sauce. My husband ordered paneer tika masala. However, he left the paneer part out. The server asked, «chicken?» We assured him that we wanted cheese. So, our dishes arrived, and we eagerly shared. Except, much to our dismay, the server brought us the chicken tika masala. I did not try it, and my husband was too embarrassed to send it back. He didn’t eat much of the chicken, but my dish was nicely spicy and delicious. I shared with my husband. At the end of the night, I ordered a paneer tika masala to go. The server looked a little confused since he had just brought us the chicken dish, but he placed our order after he assured me that cheese, not chicken, would be present. The next day, I tried that paneer tika masala, and it was incredibly good. I am sure that the mistake had to be based on a language difference, probably on our part. When we return, we will point to the items on the menu as we order.

This is the worst ran business in all of Wilmington, If only you knew what was happening behind the scenes. The food should not be eatin and the sanitation is so poor. Since the chef left it has gone to shit, I feel so bad that this restaurant is downtown it gives a bad reputation and its probably poisoning people. Stay far away from this place it will make you sick, if not the service then the food. Head my warning and STAYAWAYFROMKABOBANDGRILL, though I dought it will be there much longer anyways

The food here is out of control good. Anything you order will be authentic Indian goodness. They need some more help in Front of House, and better communication between the kitchen and severs(for example when they’ve 86’ed an item), but it doesn’t even matter because the end result really is that good. I’ll happily go back any time.

Absolutely wonderful! The best Indian restaurant in the area — you will not be disappointed! The location is somewhat off the beaten path — it is slightly hidden if you are not looking for it or if you are out of town. However, living downtown, I am excited to say that this is, now, one of my favorite restaurants! I have been a big fan of Indian cuisine for years. Kabob & Grill has the best quality Indian food of any nearby restaurant and the prices are reasonable, if not cheaper, than the other places! On our first visit we ordered the vegetable pakoras(our waiter called them Indian hushpuppies… HA!), the spinach & cheese naan(which was heaven), and two vegetarian entrees. We were pleasantly surprised with our vegetarian options and both dishes were magnificent. We can’t wait to go back and try the other choices on the menu! We didn’t have to wait for a table and were immediately seated. Waters came directly out to the table. Our waiter provided excellent service and kept us laughing the entire time, and the food was very prompt from the kitchen. A bonus: it was a Saturday night and we were also treated to a live band in the dining room. The entire experience was wonderful and we will be making this a weekly trip!

My wife and I stopped here while on vacation and visiting family in Wilmington. My wife was been on a quest to find good Peshwari naan in the U. S.(She’s from Great Britain), and we really haven’t had much luck. So, we were excited to see it on the menu! It turned out that this was the best Peshwari naan we have had anywhere in the United States. We paired it with chicken Korma, which was excellent. The portions that we shared were the perfect size for lunch, and the restaurant itself was clean and tidy. We really can’t say enough about the wonderful lady who served us — we have a 5 month old baby, and when he started to fuss we got ready for one of us to take him outside, as normally seems to happen at mealtime. Our server came over(she may also have been the manager/owner?), and offered to hold him for us while we ate. We had a lovely conversation with her and she cuddled our little boy while we both managed to eat our lunch at the same time. It was a wonderful gesture and we really appreciated it. We only had two suggestions — if there was a changing table in the restroom areas, we didn’t spot it; that would be a great addition! The other suggestion was also related to the restrooms — the women’s room was completely out of toilet paper. In summary, great food, great service, and a nice restaurant — we loved it!

Great food. Great, friendly Staff. Great Location. I will make sure to stop here for a meal everytime I visit wilmington. Definitely impressed!!! Chuck, our server, did an excellent job with recommendations and refilling our water in a timely manner. He also was very informative and entertaining.

We were helped out by Chuck for our second time to Kabob Grill, both times everything was great. If you like Indian food you’ll find some of the best here. If you’re somebody who is sensitive to spicy foods, they make their dishes completely mild for folks who like no spicyness, and as spicy as you’d like if you’re into that. It can be difficult to get truly NOT spicy curry, they do it perfectly. All the great tastes you expect from amazing Indian spices are there, they’re not skimping so save money on saffron/aromatics like is common etc… Highly recommended, we’ll be going back here frequently :) Seeing comments about the pricing being high saddens me. For this level quality/tasting food I’ve always paid prices on par with what they’re charging. Spices cost money and taste fantastic!

Lunch at this place is great, and I’m sure dinner is just as good. The menu isn’t extensive(nor is it expensive) but it has all of the Indian favorites executed excellently. A pair of veggie pakoras(fried chickpea snacks), 2 bowls of entrees(your choice of 10, I believe), sauteed cabbage, rice, and naans costs no more than $ 10 at lunch. Everything is fresh, you get more than enough food, and the atmosphere is well done. Don’t forget your favorite Indian beer! It seems like they don’t tone down their spices if you order hot, though, so be wary(if you like spice like I do, you’ll love it)! I can’t wait to go back and I hope they stick around here for years to come! Welcome to Wilmington!
