Kmart

Without a doubt, one of the worst stores I have ever had the misfortune to shop in. Two weeks before Christmas on a Saturday evening, and they have one cashier open with an excessively long line. Sadly, this is typical for this store. The shelves are poorly stocked, and you can never find an employee to help you. If I could give this place negative 5 stars I would. This will be the last time I shop here.

It’s a dump. Most of the employees are many levels beyond miserable and the store is such a disorganized mess. They are literally using technology that dates back to the mid-​80s. Seems like there is no true investment going on at Kmarts anymore. Definitely a last resort.

This store gets a low score for efficiency. I made an online order for in-​store pickup and cash on delivery. Obviously, they don’t get many of these orders because the cashier took quite a while to figure out what to do at the POS terminal. Then she needed to get the manager. The manager poked around a bit before concluding that the system was down. So a simple order pickup, which should not have taken more than a few minutes, took nearly half an hour! I’m not saying that any of the employees were bad but the store sales system let them down big time!

Me and my husband had a freezer we ordered online delivered to this location, because we thought it would be better than going to the one in Bear. This Kmart is dated and looks dirty. We saw a sign upon walking in that said online orders should proceed to layaway, at the back of the store, to pick up their order. We got back there and there was another sign saying all layaway transactions should see the service desk at the front. We get to the service desk and there is only one associate working, and she is helping a woman with a money order. After a few minutes, a line started form, then 15 minutes passed and the line was growing and the associate still did not call anyone nor did she acknowledge us or anyone else in the line. Finally, another woman came up and just yelled «ok, who’s next?» We told her we were there to pick up an order. She said ok, someone will be right up to help, paged for someone, and had us move to the side. A confused kid came up, took our name, and surprisingly came back a few minutes later with the order. This store just looks dingy, and has the WORST customer service. It’s surprising because it’s in one of the nicer areas of the county. Save yourself the trouble and go to Target.

Dirty and gross. The cashiers give you attitude if you elect not to sign up for their rewards card. I told her I didn’t shop there that often that I wanted to give out my information, and she rudely said, «jeez, it’s free.» It’s not that lady!
And like one of the posters stated, they never seem to have in stock what I’m looking for. And forget about asking one of the WWII-​era ladies working in the store, they haven’t a clue. This place is so disorganized, it’s a wonder the employees can even find their way around!

This place is the pits. Now and then when I need something that the wonderful hardware store near where I live doesn’t have and I and don’t want to trek to Home Depot or Lowe’s I make the mistake of heading here. They never have what I need and it just means another ten minutes tacked on my drive.

This K-​Mart has been around for a long time and is one of the last left in the area. It definitely shows its age but overall I think the staff is friendly (especially the customer service department) and there are good deals to be found in most departments except electronics. But don’t go out of your way to go here.

Dirty and gross. This Kmart looks just like a Kmart did in my home down back in 1985. Unless you absolutely have to there’s really no good reason to set foot in this store.
