Nemours duPont Hospital for Children

Hands down the best hospital for children around. My daughter has been with Nemours since she was born in 2012. She was in the NICU for about a week and periodically seen at the hospital for check-​ups. The doctors and nurses are exceptionally good with children and making them feel comfortable. They provide toys during ER visits (depending on length of stay) to keep the children happy and they are all hard plastic that can be sanitized by proper cleaning materials so germs aren’t spread. Recently my daughter had a procedure done at the ENT (ear, nose, and throat) doctor and all went well. They even sent me a «Thank you for the privilege of caring for you child» letter in the mail. It was signed individually by all of the nurses who cared for her that day. Like shouldn’t I be sending the thank you note? Lol. They also always call a day after the visit to make sure that everything is okay and if something does happen to be wrong (which hardly ever is) they give the on-​call number for any questions you may have. With insurance issues in the past I did have to go outside of Nemours providers for a few months and nothing can compare. Even with the doctors and how they treat each child as their own. I don’t have a single complaint. Well done Alfred I duPont. :)

I went to Nemours by process of elimination. My son had a fractured thumb, and I tried to get into CHOP, but the scheduling department was rude, and couldn’t get me into any local locations. My ped said to call Nemours. From the moment I called to schedule the apmt, everything was TOP NOTCH.
I got a same day apmt, with the option of going to Bryn Mawr or Wilmington. We arrived a half hour early for the apmt, and they took my son within 5 minutes. We sat for 2 minutes, and the doctor (Dr. Kruze) came in to see my son, and had already looked at his x-​rays and ordered the cast. The gentleman then came to cast my son, and he was friendly and personable. Every encounter was excellent, from the parking, the front desk people who directed me to Dr. Kruze, to the Dr. and staff themselves. Thank you!!!
Want to know the best part? I was in and out of there, with a cast on my son, in FIFTY minutes! I had prepared myself to be there for a few hours. I am still in awe of their work.
So, Nemours it is for now on. Hopefully we don’t have to visit again, but they have a customer for life.

My family and I have always gone to chop, just for the convenience. Up until we had a bad experience there through the holidays with my youngest. My oldest was hospitalized and the care she received was far more than I had ever expected. She was diagnosed with atypical Kawasaki disease, the nurses made her feel comfortable and every single Dr/​specialist who came to see her multiple times in the 5 days we were there spoke so sweet to her even if she wasn’t the nicest to them at the time. My girl is now on the road to recovery. Thank you all so much for caring for her and making her feel better. If I could give the hospital and the staff a million stars, I would. We will be making the trip a few times in the next weeks for follow ups and such. Thank you again for giving us our happy girl back!

Needed Urgent Care (ER/​true emergency) for our 11 year old and had 5 star treatment from all staff, however we arrived on a Monday night at 6:10 PM and although triaged right away were not seen until around 9:20 PM by a resident. (over 3 hours waiting and waiting.)
Once seen treatment, diagnosis and medications arrived quickly.
Mikey (female) the respiratory therapist was truly exceptional and a wonderful care giver.
Laura, patient liasion, was terfic and the Doctor — Dr. M. W. Attia is terrific.
I hope we don;t need to come back but if we ever do, we’ll be coming to Dupont!

We had an unfortunate stay here because our son came down with a nasty virus. (He’s better now!) While we were here, we had a fantastic experience with the staff. Everyone seemed to be very sympathetic and understanding that providing hospital care for a child can be difficult. The doctors, nurses, aids, etc. were all wonderful people that genuinely seemed to care.
There is also a really nice Family Resource Center that has free coffee, tea, and hot chocolate, cheap vending snacks, hot showers, books & magazines, tv, free internet, and even a sleep room for those who live 25 miles away or more.
We definitely felt as though our child was in good hands. If anyone has to take their child somewhere, your mind will be at ease if you take them to Nemours.

Great hospital, great place to get services for you child. They people here really take their jobs seriously when it comes to give the best care. no matter how difficult or ridiculous it maybe. Oh and the parking here is free not like other hospitals
