Repeat Boutique Fine Consignments

If I could give this store –10 stars I would. The owner is not only miserable and a liar and I was warned by a few folks who have dealt with her to take my business elsewhere.
I dropped off clothes to be consigned back in late Nov/​early Dec (i’ll have to look up my contract when I get home) and long story short, she refuses to return them because they didn’t sell.
I called about her about 2 – 3 weeks ago to find out when I could pick up a check for the items that sold and my clothes that didn’t sell but it went to voicemail which I left. She called me back a day or two later and said that I could come by anytime after 16 February to pick up the clothes that didn’t sell. I told her that I live in Jacksonville which is 50 miles away but that I had an appointment in Wilmington and couldn’t just pick my things then to which she said that that would be fine.
I go in today — just like I said that I would — and she tells me that none of my clothes have sold. Okay, fine. I did wonder why she didn’t tell me that on the phone when I called but okay.
So I say I like to have them back and she said well it’ll take a few days to get it together. I tell her I live 50 miles away and would it be okay if I just wait while she got them together because there were only 8 items. She also told me to shop around because everything is 50% off today.
So I’m thinking she’s getting my papers together and finding out where my clothes are while I browse. I found two of my sweaters — (one was a Polo and the other was an Anne Taylor, all of my things were nice that I left for consignment, so I figured I’d giver her a hand in getting my things and I take them off the rack. I also find 2 items that I’d like to buy and bring them up to the counter and I see that she’s not getting anything together to give me my things. Now it’s not like the store is crowded — there’s nobody in there but me and the store is the size of 2 bedrooms so it’s not like it would have taken her an hour to find anything.
So I ask if she found my stuff and now she informs me it’s past my contract time and I’m not allowed to have them back. We go back-​and-​forth and she’s starting to bark at me that there’s nothing she can do which is when I said — in a civil tone — that what ever happened to customer service and that she’s kinda being bitchy to me. She tells me to leave — which I say that I’m not leaving without any of my things. She says she’s going to call the cops and I tell her to go right ahead.
I never once raised my voice but she did several times telling me all about how this wasn’t her first rodeo with a customer. That alone speaks volumes when she says it isn’t her first rodeo. That tells me that she has several disgruntled customers and that she’s a bitch to everyone.
Cop arrives and listens to her story tells me to wait by the door and then he comes to me and pulled me outside. I tell him all I want is my clothes and he nods his head and he says I understand. He also says that she calls the police all the time on people and that I should just find another consignment store and file a complaint with the magistrate.
Now granted the clothes that I dropped off would’ve probably gotten me about $ 100 and it wouldn’t be worth it to take it to the magistrate… which leads me to wonder how many time she does this to other people and gets away with it? She lies and misleads clients allowing her to keep the clothing, still keep it in the racks and pocket the money — think about how much money she could make? Is this her scam?
This woman is a thief, a liar and yes, very much a bitch, in my opinion.
Warning — Stay away. Far away.

The salesperson was very friendly and helpful but the clothes weren’t really name brand and they’re more geared towards an older age group.

Great high end clothing at fair pricing. Manager is amazingly professional but nice & generous! My favorite place to shop. The best little boutique in Wilmington! I am stylishly dressed on a budget. The clothes are clean & very high end!
