Absolutely loved visiting Sage! Great atmosphere, talented stylists, and I absolutely LOVED the essential oils they used during my scalp massage!

I have been trying since I was just a wee-​fro to find a stylist that has experience with curly hair. Lauren is one of the only stylists that has actually helped my hair to grow and gives a great cut every time. She did a dry cut on me, which instead of cutting off too much and putting me back at square one, has finally allowed my hair to grow longer instead of into a horizontal-​humid mess. Anyone with thick, curly hair that is looking for an experienced stylist with curls should definitely give Lauren a call. The salon also has a relaxed /​artsy vibe, which also makes it great for their spa services as well. I have since relocated to Raleigh, but still make my apts at Sage whenever I am in town.

Thank you Lauren for making the transition to a new town and a new salon soon easy! I love the color and the cut!

I’ve been going to Sage since it opened, as I followed co-​owner, Amelia, to continue my great cuts and color. I had been to all the top salons in the area and not found anyone else who has taken care of me as well and done as good a job on my hair. All the stylists seem to have a good following here, are stylish themselves, and their clients leave looking better than when they arrived. They all seem to have a good rapport with their clients as well.
Sage has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, is eco-​friendly with employees who all seem to get along well and welcome all customers warmly.
Needless to say, I am quite satisfied with my cuts and colors. I refer people all the time, and anyone who has gone has been happy. Sage also offers discounts to referrals and refer-​ees as well as new clients.
I don’t often get mani-​pedis, but have had excellent experiences here. I have traveled and been to top rated resorts and spas, and although Sage doesn’t compare in accommodations or price to such decadent spas, the experience at Sage comes close in customer service and end result.
I’ve had one massage at Sage a few years ago. I was good, but it wasn’t worthy of remembering or referring.

Wedding day hair and make-​up: Amelia patiently and thoughtfully worked with me to customize my wedding day in Ocean Isle, NC. She came out for a trial run the day before the wedding and graciously listened to my feedback on the minor make-​up changes I wanted. She nailed it on my wedding day! She flawlessly dealt with a challenging mother of the bride and made my wedding party’s hair gorgeous (as well as mine). Very creative in the moment and able to go with the flow. She was a great rock amidst chaos. :) I am extremely picky and was very happy with Amelia’s work — organizing a wedding from Chicago and not knowing much about the local salons was daunting, but Amelia rocked it out! Gracias!

Sage Salon and Spa is awesome! I was driving through one day, saw their sign and stopped in where i met Sammie and had her fix my haircut. She knew exactly what I wanted and listened to all of my needs. I AM VERY PICKY! She impressed me so much that now my 2 daughters and one of my dearest friends got to her! We have all been very happy with the work she has done!
As far as the salon… it’s beautiful, the staff is super friendly and you cant tell they work well together. I love coming here because I don’t feel like a client, I feel like family.

I first heard about Sage on The Penguin during Kim’s show. They had a special for half off any service is you say the word ‘mother earth.’ I took advantage of their hospitality and haven’t gone anywhere else in the past two years!
The owners, Lauren and Amelia, are awesome! Lauren does my hair. She gets me, and we have a lot in common! I enjoy sitting in her chair, and I see her around town a lot! She does a great job with my color, and all of my friends (even strangers) compliment me often!!! We are all Facebook friends, and they even invite me to events outside of the salon! It is great to have such a close relationship outside of business!
The staff is super friendly, and I love that Sage is eco-​friendly! The fact that I don’t sit under a heat lamp like at traditional salons makes me feel better about the health of my hair!

I visited Sage salon in December to take advantage of their holiday stress relief package, which included a deluxe mani/​pedi, 1-​hr massage, facial, and haircut. The price for the package was very good, but the mani/​pedi was the only thing I was satisfied with. The nail technician’s personality was sweet and calming, she paid a lot of attention to detail, and the nail services were done a private, quiet room. My massage was so-​so. I found the massage therapist to be a little odd… My haircut was terrible. I was assigned to one of the newbie stylists — one of the disadvantages of getting a package deal, I guess. She got rid of all my layers, which I did NOT tell her to do, and was a little hyper and overly chatty with others in the salon, as if she was not taking my hair cut seriously.
The facial messed up my skin for about a month. I have acne-​prone skin, especially around my chin, and have had facials before, which I found very beneficial. None of my previous facials made me break out like this one did. I broke out on my cheeks and in other spots where I rarely get pimples, and this went on for an entire month. Not exactly a stress reliever. Furthermore, the aesthetician seemed unconfident and uninterested in being there. She played Dave Matthews band and similar-​type music (ugh) the entire time during my facial, at quite a high volume. It was not relaxing at all. Not once did she ask me how I was doing or feeling during the facial.
The front desk staff was very nice, but unfortunately I cannot recommend the services at this spa/​salon.

I got my highlights retouched by Heather who was friendly and chatty — in a good way! I was excited to find a «green» salon. They use vegan (and delicious smelling) shampoos and they recycle as much as possible — even the foils she used for my highlights!
Kiki did an amazing job on my facial and it cost waaay less than I expected! I walked out of there glowing!
