I hired Kickstand as the mother of the groom to help my son and his fiancée and her family with their destination wedding in North Topsail Beach on April 11, 2015. Because both the bride and groom are medical residents and rarely have any time off, and because both families live in NJ, I gave Kickstand’s partial planning package services as a gift to us all. I have to say, they were amazing. We had a bit of a rough start because the planner assigned to us originally didn’t respond to the bride, but an apology was offered by Sally, and a new planner was quickly assigned. There were two people there day of, and they were superb. They arrived early, stayed late, on the day of, and from the early planning stage on, they made many terrific and creative suggestions. They discussed pro’s and con’s and we were each so very satisfied. They were completely sensitive to my request to consult only with the bride, her mom, and the groom and they were great understanding the crazy work schedules of the bridal couple and accommodating them.

From our first meeting, when we received champagne and wedding planning magazines to the actual day of the event, Kickstand was an amazing partner to help pull our wedding together. Their communication is always timely and professional and they are always conscious of your budget when making suggestions for your event. They really helped take the stress out of the wedding planning process and allowed my wife and I to enjoy our engagement! We had our both ceremony and reception at the Brooklyn arts center and they were total pros all day. The space was beautiful as were the flowers that they provided. The fact that they can do both is a huge help as it’s one less vendor to deal with. They were a pleasure to work with and always made us feel like our event was a priority. The day went flawlessly from our perspective and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

We selected Kickstand Events for a partial planning package and I can’t imagine having a better wedding planning experience. We worked with Sally and always felt 10x better about the process after meeting with her. She put our minds at ease about everything from how to address our wedding invitations to how to tip our vendors. Living out of town could have made scheduling trickier, but Sally always made time for us on the weekends. Her happy personality and personal connections with most of our vendors made planning a breeze, and she took charge of coordinating with the caterers, linen rentals, DJ, photographer and more to ensure that everyone was on the right schedule and our rental numbers were accurate. The day of, there was no detail out of place. Every time I saw Sally and her team they were smiling and offering their help to us and our guests, including treating us to some plates of food and a bottle of champagne in the town car to take home. She and her team made it very easy to drop off our decorations the day before the wedding and pick them up the day after at their office downtown. Honestly it was the best day ever and we have Sally to thank for helping it go smoothly and stress-free!

I thought that I was going to have a wonderful experience with these girls. Their business is young and they appeared to be in touch with details of planning a wedding. We used them strictly for the day of event coordination as well as directing the wedding. We paid $ 3,000 for this service. My goal in having them was to have a relaxed day, one that I was not running around trying to attend to the details of the wedding. That was definitely not the case, particularly when it came to the actual wedding and the reception. Being a new company I thought that I would write a feed back to them, but before I did this, I contacted every vendor that had been in contact with them that day to see if they had the same interpretation as I or if it was just me. Minus one, every vendor gave them a negative review citing them as unprofessional. The minister came to me and told me «no one is in charge of this wedding and you have to get it going». The caterers came to me the entire night to ask questions. I had to anticipate weather changes and move things to the venue that had been moved out of the way due to rain, but the worst was the event planners left before the wedding was over!!! In their contract it clearly stated that they would orchestrate the departure and then pack up and return items at the end of the evening. Kind of hard to do when they were not even there. Instead I stood on the stage and told guests to meet outside. Family members and the club staff ushered the bride and groom away for the send off and the florist handed out the rose petals. Then I stayed an hour afterward collecting things and hunting down a cake stand days later. A vintage cake topper was lost for good. Something that had been on my wedding cake as well as as my other daughter’s. There were three of them hired and not one stayed! When I wrote them about their performance, they cited that it was too complicated and that I had not communicated completely with them. They said they turned over their responsibilities to someone at the club that failed to execute them. If I was going to have someone from the club do this, why did I pay them??? The staff from the club did an exceptional job… they should not have been picking up something I had paid them to do! I would have been totally accepting if they had owned up to their mistake, but putting the blame on me(the paying client) and the club(that did a fantastic job), was totally unacceptable. If they did not know the scope of the job they were to do, then why did they not find out FROMME prior to the event? This group talks a great story but does NOT deliver. They are totally un professional. Do not wast your money.

My experience with Kickstand Events was absolutely delightful! The ladies were on top of everything and put up with all of my picky requests! They helped make my wedding the perfect day! Not to mention how fun they were to work with! I actually had peonies at my wedding(not my husbands favorite!) and they were perfect. I couldn’t imagine anyone saying anything less than fantastic. These women helped make our day unforgettable.

Kickstand Events was an absolute dream to work with from start to finish. We had one minor bump in the road but Sally handled it professionally and took over our contract, giving us extra personal attention. We contracted them to provide day of coordination services but they went above and beyond, ensuring our rental numbers were correct and providing us with tips all along the way. The attention to detail on that team is incredible. I pride myself on my organization and planning as much as possible on my own but can say that the wedding day would not have gone smoothly without their help. I can wholeheartedly say that you are in good hands with Kickstand. Thanks Sally and Brianna for all of your help and for making our wedding day stress free! It was perfect– even better than we imagined!

As a private wedding planner in town for over 5 years and currently the Wedding Coordinator at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside I would recommend Kickstand Events to anyone for their special day or event! When I started at the Hilton, I brought on the ladies at Kickstand to be one of our two preferred florists for our all inclusive wedding packages. I did this because I knew their professionalism and their pure artistic ability would shine here at the Hilton and our brides wouldn’t help but fall in love with them! Over the years I have had the privilege to work with Kickstand Events on multiple different occasions(weddings, wedding shows, anniversary dinners etc) and their florals have always been above and beyond! Again, I would recommend these ladies to anyone and will continue to do so! Their talent is beyond, their personalities mesh perfectly, and they are truly able to bring any brides vision to life!
