Service was good, food was good but nothing extravagantly tasting that stood out. Got my kids the pad Thai chicken which they usually love if made the traditional way. This one however, was not & had a red sauce that had a slight spice but not a lot of flavor so I had to fight with them to eat it and they doused it in soy sauce.

Amazing sushi. My favorite spot in Wilmington. They have great mixed drinks, a good selection of beer, and amazingly fresh sushi! 10⁄10 every time.

Very good sushi in Wilmington. I was winding down a hectic two weeks and wanted nothing more than to grab some takeout sushi, lay in bed at the hotel and watch some tv — so Unilocal guided me here. I was impressed with the quality of the food, particularly given some other less than great experiences with sushi in the Wilmington area. Next trip down I’ll definitely be popping in here again.

I really appreciate that there are gluten free desserts. I wish the sushi rolls could be expanded just a little for GF. I’d pay double to be able to eat something close to the Delicious roll again. Something with a nice mix of sweet and spicy.

3 gen salmon roll was one of the best rolls I’ve ever had! The rest of the rolls were not great. Catch of the day roll was cooked Wahoo, wish they had told us it was cooked, maybe Wahoo is not supposed to be eaten raw? Anyway, not what we were expecting. Sat at the sushi bar and the sushi chefs were super nice and helpful.

Got to agree with many good these reviews that it is delicious and elegantly different than other sushi and Asian fusion restaurants all over. You would find this more like in NYC or L.A. in my opinion. LOVE the real Alaskan King Crab! Blue fin Tuna also AMAZING ! Also ask about their special cuts of fish !

One of my favorite sushi restaurants! Best in the Wilmington area as well as best I’ve had in awhile. I live in Charlotte now and haven’t found a sushi place that I like more.

Excellent food! Good service and good ambiance. Never had anything bad here and the sushi is great too! I recommend the Korean beef sliders — can’t remember their exact name? But 4 stars because the portions are pretty small for the price and I usually leave a tad bit hungry.

In my opinion, Wilmington is a little disappointing in the sushi department, overall. That being said Bento Box is far and away the best sushi in Wilmington. It’s always fresh, there’s a decent selection of fancy rolls and traditional rolls and the owner/chef seems to take pride in his product. I feel that the service is either on point or sadly lacking. I’ve never had anything but some appetizers and the sushi bc I could eat sushi everyday. The seaweed salad is delicious. The desert potstickers are delicious. The drinks are typically good. If you crave sushi constantly like I do, then come here. It’s consistently very good.

Nice sushi restaurant right in the forum shopping complex. Service staff was friendly and quick to serve us. Also it was very clean and good menu options for folks that want something other than sushi.

Best sushi I’ve had in Wilmington. Good lunch specials and laid back lunch atmosphere. Dinner time it can get crowded. My girlfriend and I come here for sushi and it can get expensive but we’ve liked the food. Service was okay.

WOW what a huge disappointment! Ordered chicken skewers that were about the size of a marker and there were only 3 of them for $ 9.00 The lettuce wraps are absolutely disgusting! NO flavor or seasoning whatsoever and the meat honestly tasted like stale breadcrumbs. The owner is rude as can be also. I know lots of people give good reviews of this place but it was the worst dining experience I have ever had. I have never been on Unilocal before but I felt I just HAD to post this.

Unexpected and surprising but the meal on Friday Aug 25th was awful. Hot and sour soup was strange and unappetizing. So much so my husband returned it and he loves hot and sour soup. No thanks to the waitress we ordered the $ 17 dim sum. Turned out to be 8 dumplings, Six of them were disgusting,(I have been watching too many Master Chef episodes) I don’t even know what was in the dumplings and was sorry I ate 2 ½ of them. It was a gelatinous tasteless something(vile texture) in thick wrappings. Not returning ever

Best sushi place in Wilmington. Super fresh, tasty and authentic. Last time I was there they were carving up a huge fresh wahoo behind the bar that had just come in. You can watch the sushi being made on the TVs.

BESTLOCALBUSINESSFORQUALITYFOODANDFOODALLERGIES! We go to Bento box at least once a week! I have a child with severe food allergies and this is one of the ONLY restaurants in town that actually follows proper protocol for safety and prevention of cross contamination. Not only are they awesome at keep my child alive and safe, their food is top notch, bringing in the freshest local and international fish, AND honoring sustainable practices wherever possible. I’ve never had a bad roll there, and their miso, while sometimes variable in potency, always tastes better than any other miso in town with its delicious traditional recipe. Gets my best local sushi restaurant vote, hands down.

Nope. Not for me. I believe is that this place if for people that doesn’t like fish or seafood. Which is kind of interesting for a sushi place. Impossible to find a roll not overcharged with spice, cream or cheese; basically everything that will cover the taste of the fish which is what true sushi connoisseur seek. The two rolls I got were not very tasty and a big deception on the eel. Couldn’t almost feel it because of the spicy seaweed salad inside the roll. This restaurant seems to be a «hipster concept» which was confirmed after a while by seeing the people eating there. All sharing the same dress code and behavior. I am def not the target audience as a foodie. Services wasn’t good either, waited 10 min before anybody talked to me while other people got their drink despite they arrives after me. So I believe that will be a random game according on which table you land. Kind of pricy too.
