Amazing food, great drink selection and wonderful owners! The gluten free selection is always a hit too. They do live music when the weather holds up. It’s also a great Place to take kids as there are always families and lots of backyard space. We will hang out here for music, football and get a chance to relax. Definitely a great place all around!

First visit and it definitely will not be my last! Had the vegan oatmeal bar with raspberry and thought it was delicious. Picked up home made marinara sauce and it was excellent, very very fresh. Going back this week to enjoy sitting outside with a cup of joe and of course my oatmeal bar and something new ;)

Stopped in here for the first time and tried two vegan items… chocolate cookies and raspberry granola bars… both were outstanding! I’m going to work my way through their vegan pastries and will advise. And in answer to someone’s comment that they’re expensive… this is true… but you most definitely get your money’s worth.

The most amazing gluten free deserts I’ve ever eaten. My favorite is the brownie and the chocolate macaroon is a close second. My daughter loved the pineapple cake as well.

Stopped in here for some baked treats to share for dessert. I got a slice of raspberry chocolate cake(which I was really excited for), pineapple bread pudding, and pumpkin cheesecake. My total was around $ 15(thought that was a bit expensive). The chocolate cake was disappointing. It was good, but wanted it to be amazing, and well, it just wasn’t(especially since it was $ 4.99, I thought that was a little overpriced). The bread pudding was kind of blah. Didn’t even finish it. The pumpkin cheesecake was SOGOOD. That was definitely the star of the three. DELICIOUS! I dunno, might give it another try, might not. There are enough other bakeries in town that I will probably try others first before coming back here.

This was my neighborhood bakery before I moved and boy do I miss it! Delectable baked goods(sweet stuff and then some breakfast scones and quiches), friendly staff, great atmosphere and even though I’m not gluten-free, it’s available and they’re delicious!

I was in wilmington visiting with my BF’s family when my sweet tooth decided to act up. The only problem with that is I’m gluten-free. Which, can be frustrating when looking for quality baked goods. This goddess bake-ress knows how to bake gluten-free! All the gluten free goods are moist, never dry, and perfect in texture. I was so excited when I got there and tried a good amount of the GF goodies. I can recommend with all my heart the following: zucchini muffin pumpkin streusel cake pineapple honey cakes chocolate mocha cookie(warning: very rich… but sooo delicious) When I’m in town visiting next year I’m definitely going back! I can get my sweet tooth fix and my BF can get a beer! They also have very nice outdoor seating for warmer days and a hammock!!!

So excited to have a bakery like this in Wilmington, even if I live two hours away! Uprising is located near 17th and Market Street, very close to downtown Wilmington.(The Wrightsville Ave address can be confusing as Wrightsville cuts all the way across town.) They just recently opened, and have already won Best Dessert at Wilmington’s Epicurean Evening. Uprising specializes in wedding cakes and baked goods using fresh, local and organic ingredients. Not to mention a huge selection of vegan and gluten free products. You can special order things, including gluten free bread. Check out their Facebook page each day for what they have to offer, they usually have upwards of 20 different items, and half of them are usually gluten free. I went in this past Saturday and got six gluten free items for under $ 15, which is great for fresh baked, gluten free goods. Some of them I froze but I tried a Zucchini Muffin which was yummy, flavorful and moist. I also had a delicious mocha chocolate cookie. They also offer cupcakes, pies, scones, quiche, bars and bread pudding.
