Walk In Urgent Care Center

I never write reviews but this absolutely needs to be said. I was seen last Saturday because I have a kidney infection, and the experience was great and the doctors were so helpful. I was told to come back if the pain gets worse, which is did. I was seen today by Dr. Shahrooz Hekmatpour who took one look at me and said I «don’t look sick enough to have a kidney infection.» He then told me to drink water and put a compress on my back because it’s probably just back pain. Even though I can’t eat without feeling sick and the pain is radiating from my back all the way down to my groin. He then sent me on my way. So here I am, in the parking lot of the hospital, sitting in my car in tears because I am in too much pain to drive… So, unless you want to be neglected and talked down to I strongly suggest not going to this clinic.

I came here over the weekend to get my foot checked out, since I’ve been limping and can barely walk. I opted to go here instead of the ER in an attempt to avoid lengthy wait times, and plus, chronic foot pain isn’t exactly an emergency. I chose this particular urgent care facility because it is affiliated with Winchester Hospital, and I have had nothing but good experiences there (well, as good an experience as a hospital/​ER visit can be).
But my visit here was filled with those lengthy wait times that I was trying to avoid, harried and annoyed receptionists, and confusion/​miscommunication between various nurses and doctors. I was waiting for an X-​Ray, and two more doctors came in not realizing I had already been seen. A nurse out in the hall shouted into my room to let them know. I was also surprised by the lack of professionalism of many of the staff — I could hear nurses chatting loudly and openly in the hallway about various patients, including myself. What ever happened to patient confidentiality?
All in all, if you’re looking for friendly, compassionate care for your illness or injury, this place probably shouldn’t be on the top of your list. It’s conveniently located right off I-​93 and easy to find, with lots of parking available, but in terms of positives, that’s about it.
