BEWARE!!! They do not even deserve a half of one star! This is by far the worst company I’ve ever done business with. If you want your personal belongings completely destroyed during your move then this is who to use. By the time all of my boxes and furniture arrived at its destination they were completely crushed and destroyed. Packed boxes came off the truck flat as pancakes and everything was broken. Everything!!! They showed up for the delivery at 10 pm with underaged kids helping out with the move, I couldn’t believe my eyes! I did not feel comfortable with what appeared to be an 11 year old girl moving my stuff so I had to pitch in and help move stuff myself! When I complained to the company about this they could care less. They offered $ 50 in the end for all my broken stuff. I never accepted their peanut offer from the pathetic settlement company they use. BEWARE and stay far away if you value your hard earned things, they are a little cheaper in cost but you will absolutely get what you pay for!!! Don’t make the same mistake as me.

Good job Xpress Movers and many thanks to Stoil in particular. January 16^th, 2016 was a very cold and rainy day, not necessarily the best day to move, however movers arrived on time, came with lots of complimentary packing boxes and moving tape. Movers used moving pads to protect my shiny floors and wrapped all my furniture in a professional way. Stoil, the manager of the company got personally involved in moving furniture back to back with the other guys, due to high volume of work contracted. Everyone was pleasant, making the moving process stress free.
Bad Unilocal reviews didn’t discouraged me to contract Xpress movers. Sometimes you must take a leap of faith and trust your gut. I own a business and in my experience people tend to put reviews only when they have to complain about something. Happy customers usually come back and use your services again. Awesome job, highly recommended!

These guys were phenomenal. They did a FANTASTIC job and they gave us the best quote around and if we ever move again they’ll be our first call.
Why I liked them:
— Gave us a detailed quote breaking down all the costs, so no hidden charges
— Prompt, friendly customer service
— On the day of our move, we received a phone call confirmation letting us know everything was on schedule and who our crew would be – totally kept us in the loop
— Incredibly efficient in moving & packing, and did a great job packing our delicates
— Moved stuff (including a huge bedroom set)
And best of all came in under the quoted price, and were accurate to the 15-​minute increment in terms of how much time they charged us for – 7.75 hrs instead of 7!
In short, they were the best movers we have ever had. They moved everything in only a few hours it took me 2 days to unpack everything. All our stuff were intact which was great.
Keep up the good work guys! We will use you again. Very highly recommend it!

Called to move appliances mentioned when I booked them they were heavy appliances. Came with not the right equipment and had to come back — When rescheduled truck was broken down so they had to reschedule again.
Knowing I would be out of town when they came back again — asked if someone could sign for me — they said yes but when they did show up and there was confusion that they could not use my card on file — I was called and left a unprofessional message that I was refusing to pay
Received a call from my contractor and I paid over the phone — called back Xpress to mention that I was not happy with the call and the entire situation and I was basically yelled at by the Manager and received the worst customer service.
Had the chance to make a challenging situation better but they made it 100 times worse — sure they can move your stuff but don’t expect any customer service

Do yourself a favor and go with a different moving company.
The actual moving guys are nice and hardworking, but the management office is obscene. The process of moving is rarely perfect and seamless. The odds are that you’ll need to deal with the management at some point while working with Xpress Movers. And the experience of communicating with these people to get to a satisfactory resolution will enrage you, because it simply won’t happen. They are not reasonable. Worse, they are pathological.
Spend a little more and go with a company that is respectful and fair.

I just moved from VA to PA last month. At first Philip told me that the pick up date would be May 19^th and deliver date would be between May 28 – 31. However, on 16^th, Annie called me saying that the movers will pick up on 18^th instead of 19^th. Well, that’s not the end of the story. They charged 17.5% extra for labor and material. Their original quote invoice listed those as free, which was very misleading. Had I known that wrapping tapes for less than 10min would cost several hundred dollars, I would have done it myself. That is also not the end of disaster yet. When I called them on 26^th to confirm the actual delivery date, again it was Annie who picked up the phone, saying that they cannot deliver until one or two weeks later. I didn’t try to argue with them over the phone, because they simply cannot do anything about either the overcharge or delay. When I submitted the case to BBB, the company simply claimed that I’m not a actual customer of their business. Stay away from Xpress movers in MA. They are the worst moving company that I’ve ever dealt with.

I always look to Unilocal for advice, but I rarely post. However, this experience was so awful I felt I had to write a review for other peoples sake.
I am so mad at myself for not taking the previous reviews more seriously. Please listen to me when I say DO NOT USE XPRESS MOVERS under any circumstance. I had three pieces of antique furniture (family heirlooms) shipped from Illinois to NY. Well, two of the pieces where broken upon arrival. I was then forced to pay for this unacceptable service in order to have them unload the truck. So to recap, I had three pieces shipped by this company, and two were significantly damaged. I spoke to an office manager and she was unfriendly and rude. I will be filing a report with the Better Business Bureau (and any other agency I can find) and I hope others will too.
This company doesn’t deserve to be in business. Their job is to move things. They move things for sure, but they might arrive in multiple pieces.

I hired them when I move from Boston to New York. They have Good price and Nice people too, BUT…
The workers arrived late when they came pick up my stuff, and they told me they keep working for 30 hours before come to me… I mean. What kind of company do that to their employees?
And for delivery my stuff in New York 1 day later, first the truck broken down in somewhere, so of course my delivery was totally delayed. My boxes all arrived with somewhere broken… But luckily everything is still in there… haha
I don’t really recommend for interstate moving… But probably ok for short distance moving;)

Although their prices are less than many of the major moving companies, the cost to you in terms of heartache may be immeasurable with dollars and cents. Please read further about our ordeal with this company.
Before my wife and I hired Xpress Movers (i.e., paid the 20% deposit) to move our belongings from Massachusetts to California, we communicated with their representative via email extensively. We requested that our move be scheduled on June 22, 2013 and stated that our family would move into our new apartment in Southern California by June 28^th. The representative stated in one of his emails that California moves typically take 2 – 3 weeks. We decided to hire Xpress Movers given the affordability of the move in addition to the length of the delivery of the shipment.
On the day of the move, the Xpress Movers’ truck was four hours late. Although the truck was scheduled to arrive in the morning at or before 11 A.M., we were informed that the truck would be delayed by a «couple of hours.» In fact, the truck arrived four hours after its scheduled arrival time. As a result, we almost missed our flight from Boston to Los Angeles.
Three days after pick up, we emailed the representative at Xpress Movers to get a detailed invoice of the final move and the approximate date of delivery. One of the executives of the company emailed us back stating that the representative had forwarded our email to her attention. She wrote that the delivery date was uncertain. She specifically said, however, it would be «after the July 4^th weekend,» but it «shouldn’t [be] after the 15−16^th of July.» The executive’s delivery dates were the approximate dates the representative had promised in writing.
Three weeks after pick up, we contacted the representative again to check on the status of the delivery since it had yet to arrive. We were now informed that the truck would not be delivering our belongings until the first week of August. We were blamed for an alleged communication error even though we had everything in writing.
During repeated phone calls and emails both the representative and executive were accusatory, unapologetic, disingenuous, unhelpful and frankly rude. The only concession made was $ 100 discount on the final payment (total cost was about $ 2500) after much back-​and-​forth. No apologies were ever made.
On the day of delivery on August 6, 2013, two pieces – a leather office chair and our mattress – arrived damaged, the chair with one of its wheels broken off and the mattress dirtied on two sides.
We can in NO way recommend this company now or ever. Buyer beware!

I worked with Felipe at Xpress Movers to move a partial truckload from Chicago to New York. He was very good to work with. Felipe communicated with me throughout the process and was flexible with pick-​up/​delivery. His movers were also very nice and professional. They got the job done quickly. I’ve already recommended working with him to a friend moving out east. His pricing is fair and they did a great job for me– on time, took good care of my things, and were flexible with arranging pick-​up/​delivery.

The movers did a decent job with an in-​town move. They arrived on-​time/​slightly late, they worked at a steady pace and were careful with belongings, and unloaded them. The only quibble I had was that they took a longer route between locations, stating roads that don’t allow trucks, though I’m sure there was a shorter route that does allow large trucks. The added time was relatively insignificant though. The phone agent was highly communicative and clear about process and fees. I recommend them.

Please go elsewhere! Dealing with them has been a nightmare!
I chose them because they were cheap and seemed nice on the phone, I needed also to store my stuff for a week between moves and they said they had a safe warehouse, and there wouldnt be additional charges to hold my stuff there.
When they picked up my stuff they were late. They were supposed to pick up my things at 5p, finally showed up at 1030p. They moved my stuff really quickly, wrapped my stuff in shrink wrap which i thought was really nice.
When it was time to move into my apartment they never called to confirm, so I gave them a call, they said I was ‘not in the books’. Really? because I confirmed the date three times with them already, they said they would come later that day, they never showed up. So i had to take another day off of work.
They finally came, they charged me extra for the shrink wrap– even though the movers said I wouldn’t be charged anything extra. They brought other peoples boxes, I had to catch it and say this isn’t mine, and they lost a box of mine with a really nice expensive winter coat in it.
I then spent the next three months, calling once a week to have them search for the box. Obviously they didn’t care, I asked for a settlement so i could replace my jacket– they gave me 40 $- they said that really it should only be 3 dollars but they are giving me 40 $ as good faith settlement.
this place is ridiculous! PLEASE PLEASE go somewhere else and save yourself the headache.

Absolutely AWFUL! Significant damage to my furniture with little response from the movers!!!
They broke multiple items of mine from my move from Boston to NYC. A couple lamp shades which I didn’t even bother asking for compensation for but the big item was they broke the entire leg off of my dresser making it completely UNUSABLE. Not to mention, this wasn’t your run of the mill cheapo IKEA dresser. After months of them avoiding emails and phone calls, after SIX months, they finally came back and offered me $ 10 as compensation. TEN DOLLARS for rendering a dresser worth hundreds unusable after six months are you serious!!! It’s insulting really.
If anyone is curious, I even have a picture that I took immediately after they moved my furniture in and I pointed it out to the movers. Just message and I can show you how ridiculous it is!

Please, PLEASE, do not hire these people for your move. Don’t be lured by their low prices, as I (stupidly and greedily) was. Just drop the extra grand to hire capable movers that WON’T:
–Evade your phone calls inquiring as to when they plan on picking up and/​or dropping off your stuff.
–Without apology, excuse, or compensation, show up the day AFTER they have finally scheduled their movers to pick up said stuff.
–And similarly, drop your stuff off five days AFTER your required window of time, with no apology, excuse, or compensation.
–Promise to reassemble the furniture they have disassembled (to load into their truck) and then not do so, leaving you bed-​less for yet another night.
–Break your furniture, not tell you about it, and then leave it in an un-​named warehouse until you call them five times inquiring about it. Then drop said furniture off, broken but propped up seemingly intact against the wall of your building’s foyer… AFTER you have waited for several more hours for them to show, and have given up to go to your job – thus giving you no recourse to complain about the broken furniture while the movers are actually there.
All of these things happened to me in what should have been a short and painless move from Pittsburgh to Boston. I very much regret having given these people any of my money, because they are irresponsible, non-​communicative, shady, and all-​around bad businesspeople. Please spare yourself the stress of dealing with them, and get yourself a reputable moving company!

NEVER NEVER NEVER HIRE THIS COMPANY unless you wanted to be CHEATED
We moved with them in October 2011. Their rep, Delmar Hicks, was very nice at the time we signed up. But the unpacking went horribly wrong. Del promised that he will resolve it and work with the owner and the staff to get us a refund. We kept chasing him and Annie Andreeva, the support rep, for several months until we gave up. Not only did Del abandon us, but Annie was extremely rude and not apologetic for their mess.
PLEASE STAY FAR FROM THEM. ALSO, OUR ESTIMATE DURING SIGNUP WAS 5K AND PER THE WEIGHING OF THE TRUCK IT TURNED OUT TO BE 9K.
We trusted the numbers then, but now its pretty clear that it was probably made up and is standard practice at this company.

BEWARE — INCOMPETENT & SKETCHY
I used Xpress for a Boston to Chicago move. I chose them because they were significantly cheaper than any of the other cross-​state movers. The old adage «You get what you pay for…» should be this company’s slogan.
To start, they were over four hours late for pickup. The movers were organized and responsible… but then ended up locking their keys in the truck… perhaps a harbinger of things to come.
When they got to Chicago two weeks later, they forgot to bring my bookcase — probably the largest item in what was really a small move. I was willing to forget and forgive that is… until I spoke with one of their «expert move coordinators» who (instead of being apologetic about leaving my stuff back in Boston and not even knowing where my bookcase was) actually demanded I pay in full for incomplete move — on the spot — or she would have the movers hold all of my things at my expense.
Only after two hours of pointless back-​and-​forth and a call to a mysterious «boss-​man» did I get to keep my stuff. The sales guy I dealt with was mostly MIA after the deal was closed — in fact I had to trick the movers into giving me his cellphone number to get him on the line.
A week later I got my bookcase (the movers were only three hours late this time) and thankfully my dealings with this company ended. I still need to check all my stuff for damage. It would have been nice to get an apology or even a few dollars off, especially after I had to burn two extra vacation days due to their incompetence.
Reputable companies actually care about keeping their customers happy.
I learned the hard way that a moving company is not something to scrimp on – I would have gladly paid the extra $ 200 dollars I saved for the piece of mind of knowing my stuff was safe and I was working with professionals.

If I could give negative stars I would.
They called the day before to tell me the time was changing to a few hours earlier. Since I knew I still had to pack in the morning, I asked it not to be changed which wasn’t an option. Turns out they were late anyway.
The movers started wrapping and packing my stuff and putting some things in boxes (3 boxes were used) without asking me. I was given an estimate of 400 and when the bill came it was over 800! I was charged 330 for «supplies» such as tape, plastic wrap, padding (which they then re-​use for other moves) and the 3 boxes. Rediculous. When I spoke to the woman in the office she told me I just didn’t read the fine print clearly and refused to take anything off of the bill. Thanks.

I cannot recommend these movers enough.

This company deserves the ratings they have with the Better Business Bureau. Our family has moved from the Boston area in Mass to NYC, an interstate moving job, not only that but we moved a 2 bedroom house with an extra unit at a public storage. We are eager to promote this moving company for the wonderful service we have received and I can truly say that our move was 100% flawless from the start to its completion.
In June 2009 my husband’s company had to relocate him to work on a different project, and after 2 years living comfortably in the Greater Boston area we had to move, although my husbands company was paying for the whole move they ordered us to find the moving company, so we started our research and had invited a few companies to come to our house and offer us an inhouse estimate or at least a phisical survey.
The estimator at Xpress Movers was Annie, it was an absolute delight working with her. Every question we had was immediately answered, every situation we encountered was resolved smoothly — professionalism at its best. We received a guaranteed estimate price for our move and it made us feel very comfortable. The other companies did give us binding pricing as well, but it was all about the presentation of items, the quote was very simple to read and no small font letters you can’t read or extra charges you won’t understand. I looked them up and found nothing wrong with their operation and pickup and delivery was guaranteed. We finally accepted their bid, sent the deposit and booked the date.
The crew arrived on time on the day of the packing and did such a wonderful job that we invited all 4 of them to stay for some food we ordered. It’s always a good idea to have your moving guys in good shape. They dismantled furniture, packed fragile items (TVs, computers, etc), wrapped everything to protect it. They worked so hard and were so careful with our furniture, they were also very explanatory about the way they were packing and moving our items, it was quite interesting watching them work. They brought with them blankets to cover my wood furniture free of charge.
It took them about 2 days to deliver our furniture and every single piece arrived in perfect condition, they placed all the items where we requested them to and put back together everything they had taken apart. We have moved a few times in the past but this company is by far the best we have ever used, the service, the workmanship, the caring.
I am writting this review purely because i know that it’s easy to write a bad review for a company (i’ve written many) because you are upset and you want the world to know your frustration. But for someone to take the time to write a good review is very rare that’s why i thought i would.
In conclusion
I would recommend them without any hesitation to anyone who is looking for a peace of mind. I do not want to move again but I will use them if we do. Don’t look further folks.

I hired Xpress for a move from Boston to NYC. I had a team of 3 extremely fit guys led by a guy named Anyo. They were all extremely fast and quickly moved everything into the truck. The items that weren’t in boxes yet, they moved into these wardrobe sized boxes. The two big items our oversized couch and chair I was a little scared it wouldn’t fit in the NYC apt, somehow they got it to the 2^nd floor.
They did not stop for a second, I felt bad so I bought them some waters and fruit, but they basically worked from 7am in the morning until 8pm at night without stopping, not to mention a delayed drive to NYC because the GW bridge was shut down.
It sucks the other people didn’t have good experience with them, it looks like they got a different team. I’m really happy we got Anyo, if you use them, I’d recommend asking for his team specifically, you’ll be amazed.

DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR MOVE!!!
If I could give no stars, honestly, I would. In every aspect, this company was horrible.
The story leading up to hiring this company is that my boyfriend and I were both moving out separate apartments in the North End and moving into a temporary apartment for one month. Part of our belongings were being stored with Xpress Movers while we were living in this temporary place and then being moved with the rest of our stuff to our permanent location a month later. This company was recommended to us by our real estate agent Jenn at GMRE. So we called and scheduled our moves and storage, and this is how things went:
1. Late. On the day of the initial move, the movers were 3 hours late getting to our first location. When we had originally scheduled, we told them it was very important that they were on time as we both had to work that evening and could not get out of it. They did not even call us when they were running late to tell us, and when they finally arrived after we had called the company several times, there we no apologies what-​so-​ever.
2. Slower than Molasses. When they finally got started on the first apt of the 2 we were moving from, they took forever to get things out. On our end, we had everything packed, labeled and ready to go. I’m assuming that because they get paid hourly they were just trying to milk it to make more. The last item they were to move was the couch. Standard sized couch. Nothing super fancy that they would have to be worried about. These guys could not figure how to get it out of the apartment. Obviously it was moved into the apartment, but these two «professionals» couldn’t seem to put their heads together to get it out. At this point we had to leave for work and we handed them the keys to the other apartment that I was moving out of and told them to take everything from there.
3. Incompetent. 4 hours later, while at work, my boyfriend gets a call from the movers. They tell him that they cannot get my mattress and boxspring out of my apartment and that they are leaving it there. Now when I moved into this place, I had no professional help. Myself and one other person got the bed into the apartment. He explains to the movers that they need to remove the stair railing to get the boxspring out. They say they have no tools to do this (all they need is a phillips head screwdriver, I swear to you). Seriously? What kind of movers do not carry basic tools to deal with these kind of situations, esp. in the city?!
4. Illiterate? When we arrive home that night to our new, temporary apt, they had moved in a bunch of things we had labeled to go to storage. We had not only labeled these items, but had also emailed a complete list of everything we wanted to go to storage, and everything we wanted with us for the month. Also at this point we get a call from our Real Estate agent (who also represents one of our previous apts) saying that the couch is still in the old apt and that we will be fined if we do not remove it immediately. Also my previous roomate calls to tell me that there are a bunch of boxes and my mattress and boxspring still left in the other apartment! At twelve midnight, we had to go and move all this stuff ourselves because we had no choice.
5. Broke/​Lost Items. On the first move, they completely broke our desk, dresser, and television. When we got the rest of our stuff from storage moved into our permanent apartment a month later, there were two broken bookcases, Our futon frame was broken, and our tv stand was badly scratched. Even worse, they «lost» a large lamp and two huge duffle bags that held 50% of my boyfriends clothes and shoes. We’re talking 15 pairs of sneakers, 10 pairs of jeans, and countless shirts. They had no explanation for this at all. When we called, they said they would send us loss forms and look for the missing items at the storage facility. They never got back to us about the missing items and we never received the forms. After countless emails and phone calls, we have taken them to court for our losses.
I really hope this review reaches people before they hire this company and not after. Every part of the experience with Xpress Movers has been horrible and I hope none of you have to go through it!
