Overpriced mediocre fare. Could not taste dill in the gravad lox. Smallest schnitzel ever. Jäger sauce with no cream? 10 bucks for draft beer.

This place is a blast from the past. I wanted to like it, but the food was uninspired, and overpriced. Limp overdressed salad, fatty cutlets drowning in sauce. Small portions. High prices. Don’t do it.

Well, I really wanted to love this place. I spend a lot of time in the Austrian Alps and love the food. The service here was excellent and very friendly. Sadly, the menu was very limited on authentic dishes, the portions were quite small and the prices were over the top. Everything was very small. They mainly serve US beers and the only Austrian beer was the Steigl, but it was the gold lager and not even their famous Pils. It was our second disappointing time here.

For several years we have driven right past Stiegler’s on our way to and from our Condo. Have we ever missed out! We enjoyed one of the finest meals we have ever had in Jackson Hole. One of us had Classic Wiener Schnitzel and the others had pork dishes. All were outstanding. The cocktails were mixed to perfection as well. We will return.

The tornedos were just short of perfection and the brat appetizers were delicious. All this was coupled with very attentive service. Everyone of our party was very very happy.

We had a delightful time dining at Stiegler’s. Service, ambiance, and food were all seamless and wonderful without being stiff and snobbish. The ambiance seems more«formal» compared to others in this ski town in winter time(this may be one of the priciest restos in Jackson), but it’s actually warm and cozy. We learned the background of the place and its owner, who walked around and greeted everyone. Good food that’s on the traditional side. Portions are big, but thankfully some dishes have«kleiner»(small) option. It’s consistent as other places that staff is so very nice that they called a taxi service for us to go back to our hotel in downtown.(The most expensive part was the taxi ride to and from, as the town has a set prices and is $ 35 one way. We knew this and felt it was worth it on our vacation :-)) I was unable to finish my dessert, so they packed it up for us :-)

Great service. Really great people. But the food is quite average and very expensive. If you like fried food you’ll love it. A lot of charm. but The Bavarian music is a bit too loud… and gets annoying if you haven’t had enough to drink.

This place is a gem! The service is great and the food even better. Our family owns a house in Jackson but have never visited Stieglers(big mistake because this place is in my top 3 restaurants in Jackson Hole now). If you like cookie cuter restaurants, this is not the place for you. If you like very authentic, perfectly flavored unique dishes, you will love this place. We had 4 courses and every one was beyond excellent and we all shared multiple dishes. Our server was over the top nice and accommodating — the chef introduced himself and was straight from Austria. Don’t miss this place and save it for your big night out, its not cheap but its worth it.

Absolutely fabulous food and service. A friend recommended this spot so highly, and we were lucky to get a last-minute res. The owner temporarily retired for a year, so there is some online confusion about their status. Be advised they re-opened in summer 2011, and are simply the best in the area.

I am so glad that Stiegler’s reopened this past June. This is my favorite Austrian restaurant! Peter Stiegler is always visible and serving guests and his wait staff is awesome. They dress in traditional Austrian attire. Our waitress was from Austria and she was extremely pleasant. Since the dining room was completely full, the four of us had a private section in the bar by the fireplace and we loved it! I highly recommend the veal parmesan. Stiegler’s also has a great wine list.

Wife and I ate there one night while in Jackson Hole. I would give the atmosphere and service a good grade(A-), but the food would be just above average(B-). For appetizer we had the chicken dumpling wrapped in speck. The speck was nice, but totally overpowered the very limited taste of the chicken dumpling. The salad special was an apple and Gorgonzola cheese creation with a balsamic dressing, which was very good. For and entrée I had the braised elk, which came with spaetzle, sauteed red cabbage, and a minced spinach/garlic side. My wife had the pork loin which came with the same sides. She didnt like her food too much, but she is not a big fan of german/austrian food. I thought my food was average, but that may be cause I was expecting much more from Stiegler’s. Everyone in Jackson Hole raved about this place.

My FAVORITE restaurant in Jackson, again I am born and raised in Jackson and we always went here for my Mom’s birthday. They have the best Bavarian-Austrian cuisine and really make the place special for these three amazing and magical things… 1. The wait staff look like they are dressed and ready to be in «The Sound of Music» it is so great! :) 2. The food is seriously to die for and reminds my of my Grandmothers house I usually left both with buttons popping. 3. The best and most amazing part is their coffee. They make real European style coffee and give you two little chocolate cups with sweet cream inside to place in your coffee. It is such a sweet wonderful way to end your meal make sure to order this. so to try something out of the norm of the basic expensive bistro, bland SGR, or outrageously priced grainery enjoy some bavarian culture and food at Stiegler’s!

Not one of my favorite places in JH but alot of people love it… They offer pretty mostly german and austrian food… most of the time i go with the brat plate where they give you about 3 different kinds of brat… the place is kinda formal and pretty expensive… to spend that money i would much rather go to the bistro, SRG or the grainery.
