Whoever is running this place needs to get out of the business! We have been for the past 4 weeks and no turkey or chicken. They tell us they sold out??? HELLO people it’s been between 10:30 and 12 when we get there. That before lunch and lunch time! YOUNEEDTOWAKEUP! You are losing business BUT I guess you don’t really care! I know you have more turkey you are just not cutting anymore off to sell! I will make sure everybody knows how crappy this is and maybe one day you will wake up and stop losing business!

I have to start by saying… Best pimento cheese you’ve ever had in your life. I get a half pimento cheese, half chicken salad sandwich on white bread with a cupcake for dessert. Both the pimento cheese and chicken salad are homemade at their downtown location, and are both ridiculously good. The cupcake is great as well with homemade icing and little flower on top. Cute. You can get a boxed lunch with your choice of sandwich, chips or pretzels, a deviled-egg, and your choice of one of their many delicious homemade desserts. They also sell chicken drumettes until they run out. Cash only, so go prepared. Open for lunch only. $ 5.50 for the boxed lunch, I think.

My wife’s favorite place in Wilson. Great sandwiches and the box lunch is perfect for lunch. Pricing is great as well. There are two locations, the original in downtown Wilson, and the other a satellite location at Brentwood. I usually end up at Brentwood for convenience, though I dread it every time due to the less-than-pleasant attitude I often get from one individual working there. All in all, go for lunch, it’s worth it.

Oh Sugar Plum Shoppe… as a southern girl, there is no name better for a little shop that makes yummy baked goods, sandwiches, and my life a bit easier on a work day! Let me tell you, this place was like stepping into, what I would think, a shop run by the Ya-Ya sisterhood or maybe Truvy and the gals from Steel Magnolias, if Truvy ran a bakery and not a beauty shop. I was clearly waiting for Olympia Dukakis to walk out from the back, but she didn’t. Shucks! The ladies who work here call themselves the«Sugarbabes» which also touched this southern girl’s heart since my grandma calls me that, «Sugarbabe». :) This little shop was a recommendation from a dr office I was bringing lunch to. She said, «just to prepare you, they don’t take credit cards, only cash». Well, I then knew I was in for a treat! It is in a little strip mall called Brentwood shoppes, which is a bit more upscale shopping for Wilson. I was pleasantly surprised to see this area as I have missed this part of Wilson on my travels. I walked in and there was no seating, only a counter. I was surrounded by little white boxes for the box lunches they prepare. Apparently, they only do box lunches and sell their baked goodies if people just want to come for their famous«Dreambars» or a brownie, lemonbar, or other baked yummy treats. The menu is limited, however, it doesn’t seem to keep people away. There was a quickly formed line after I walked in and they also had a service window where people were coming to pick up their orders. My clients were able to choose from the homemade chicken salad sandwich box, the drummettes with potato salad box, the turkey lite sandwich box, or the Moravian Chicken pie box. Each item comes with chips or pretzels, a deviled egg(well, you are in the south), and one of their homemade sweet treats. They also prepare veggie trays and some breakfast muffin trays for people like me who bring items like this to offices to feed a larger group. The box lunches were $ 5.50 each… what a deal!!! I had the turkey lite box which came with the fruit and it was oh so yummy! This place is a gem and I am so glad that I found it!!!
