I’ve held off writing this review for about a year. I know some folks have no problem ranting and raving about poor service, but that’s not me. I try to give a place the benefit of the doubt, especially if it is a small family run place. The reason that chain stores do so well is consistency and the ability to charge less due to high volume sales. Their hours are steady, the staff has a training program and items are typically in stock. When you deal with a local shop, then you start running into odd hours, unexpected closures and a small inventory. I’ve encountered all of these issues at this store. My interactions with the staff have also been odd. I went back recently to give them another shot. I wanted to see if my first three visits were during a rough patch and hopefully things had improved. Nope, same issues. The Portland metro area is filled with bike stores and next time I’m giving my business to another local shop. Fingers crossed.
