Barton and Miller Cleaners Laundry and Tailors

I took a suit in for alterations and I understood it would be $ 100.00. When I went to get it the price was $ 140.00. This is the highest price cleaners in the area and they give no excuse for it. I sopped using them several months ago and for convenience sake I tried them again!
No more never again for any reason!

Terrible experience today at Barton and Miller Dry Cleaners. After two years of using them, they lost 4 items today. One of which was a suit. What surprised me also was the attitude of the girl behind the counter, who didn’t apologize at all for losing the items, just kept saying they weren’t in the computer even though I had a ticket that said they had received the items. She filled out an incident report but that was all, no «we’ll keep looking» or anything, like we will reimburse you for lost items. She really had an «I don’t care» attitude. So I’m taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Why do business with a place with zero customer service skills? I walked into a sea of grumpy miserable people who made me feel as if they hated their jobs and resented me being there. They collected my ten shirts for laundry and pressing. The told me it would take three days, and I could pick-​up on Friday! I asked about rush service and was told it would cost me over $ 4 per shirt! I decided against rush service. I had to leave town and was surprised that on Saturday I received a grumpy phone message from the cleaners informing me I needed to get in and pick up my clothes because they had maintenance scheduled the coming week. Really??? To top it off, when I picked up my clothes the cost was more than $ 3 a shirt. I recently moved here from Atlanta where my friendly cleaner had my shirts ready the next day… two days on a rare occasion… and it cost me a little less than $ 2 a shirt. This place is awful.

It’s too bad the old owners are not involved anymore because since they sold it the business has gone downhill. I’ve never had so many problems and I’ve never been in the store without hearing so many complaints about their clothes. The last straw was when I brought shirts in just to press and that had the tags on them, brand new and they came back with stains and they said the stains were on them. I will never ever use Barton and Miller again.

Moved to Fort Lauderdale and was recommended to Barton & Miller. The first time after I clearly gave specific directions how I like my clothes and they were returned folded (business shirts?) and with pins (clearly not as requested). The next time I asked for no pins and shirts pressed, and could not deliver on those simple directives. Well after waiting in their sweat shop (no AC and was sweating profusely) I discovered I was charged an extra $ 1.00 for the pins being taken out! Simply, they are charging me money for taking pins out, that were never there in the first place. Ridiculous. My clothes were wrinkled and the prices is outrageous. Do not use them!

Great service and excellent quality prices are not too steep but worth every penny! I know that when I drop my clothes off I’m going to get them back in excellent condition!

good service, never had any surprises or disappointments. My partner and I are very particular, but they don’t bat an eye, they know us by name and are very friendly. the place has been around forever and in my opinion adds to the flavor of the neighborhood. it’s part of the reason I like living here.

2^nd review. First one pulled off because owner said my review was for multiple listings of their business. So just to be clear this is about the Dixie highway location NOT their other location on 26^th street also in wilton manors.
Zero stars. horrible customer service. owner lies and says he will make good and replace a blouse they ruined. basically i was a good client and had no problem with this dry cleaner for a bit. front desk girls are great. i dropped off a crème colored blouse and a navy blue dress, both worn once. i got back a blue tinted blouse and they said they would re clean it and fix it. well that didn’t happen. it got worse and was completely ruined at that point. amazingly kevin the dry cleaner owner said it was a manufacturers defect and even called the clothing store to tell them that. seems to be automatic practice to just deny wrongdoing and try to get the clothing company to pay up, which he said they normally do just pay. i got furious and said i wasn’t coming back and kevin then asked me what i wanted in order to keep me as a customer. i said i wanted the blouse to be replaced. he even shook my hand and said we had a deal in his parking lot. i even gave him at his request a copy of my receipt for the blouse two times. He changed his mind after avoiding me for sometime and had his manager call me for my address. I later found out what for. He said he was going to give me a gift certificate to his establishment because it’s the same thing as just replacing the blouse. Uhm so when my fiancé Asked him if it’s the same thing as replacing it in his mind why don’t you just replace it. He said no it doesn’t work that way. So the owners own logic doesn’t make sense to himself. My recommendation avoid this place and listen to all the other reviewers who are saying this place is no good since ownership changes.

Quality has steadily declined over the past year or so, prices have gone up. They don’t put much if any care into cleaning your clothes correctly… clothes come back wrinkled and bunched up, the people just don’t care here.

Lost my clothes.

These are new owners. Their prices have gone up, but their service has gone down. I’ve had some small inconveniences, and they dealt with my girlfriend in a disconcertingly unprofessional way. Time to find another dry cleaner.
Disturbingly, my girlfriend’s negative but accurate review was removed somehow!

I won’t be going back. I have been using this place on and off for years. I went in recently and they were rude, which never had happened before. They also raised their prices to $ 3.15 to press a shirt. The same cost to wash and press. I don’t think so!

New owners have raised prices. Over $ 3 to launder a men’s shirt? Over $ 7 to dry clean a pair of men’s slacks??? No thank you!

I would like to start by saying I would give this place 5 stars BUT not after my last experience. I have used the cleaners before and they were great, a little expensive but convenient. I recently dropped off 2 dresses and when they were picked up it cost $ 35.00. I almost fell on the floor! I had the dresses cleaned there before so I called them up to ask if the prices went up. They said YES! $ 35.00 for 2 plain sleeveless dresses is just crazy. I will be going someplace else even through they are close to home. You would think that a repeat customer that lives in this small community who notices that price change, that they would offer to give it to you at the old price since THEY didn’t tell their customers that THEY were raising there prices. PLUS THEY SHOULD INCLUDE PRICES ON THEIR TICKETS that they hand to their customers. Yes I know I should have asked when I dropped it off but I thought I already knew. Lesson learned.

Let me first start off by saying I do not like to iron, or should I say don’t know how. Whichever is true is regardless. After washing a dress shirt for work which I thought was wrinkle free, I quickly realized that it was not once I removed it from the dryer. Yikes! I called around to different cleaners, as I had to be to work at 5p and it was now 1p, to see if someone would iron or press it in an hour. No such luck as all cleaners said I could pick it up tomorrow and that would be too late, until I found Barton and Miller. I called and they said «bring it in and you can wait while it’s done». I dropped it off and they said I could pick it up in 15 mins. Yippie. I almost kissed and hugged the cashier. 15 mins later and only $ 3.95 later my shirt was completed and in my hands. Koodos to the staff at here. I think I just found my new dry cleaners. Thanks guys for such a rapid turn around!

I have been a customer for many years. The family owned business has been operating for a looong time. The prices are good and they do what they do best. They are also very cooperative to getting your clothes turned out in a rush, if your like me and wait until the last minute. I have had tailoring done many times, as well. The owner even helped me with an issue and was very accommodating.
