Our favorite restaurant on Wilton Drive. One of the reasons we vacation here twice a year.

The sushi is fresh and made to order. The service is excellent, friendly and quick. Limited seating but very comfortable. Best sushi on the drive in my opinion!

The sushi was fresh and the owners attentive and friendly. It is small so this may easily become my go-to sushi place, which will likely push it to 5 stars. Small but interesting menu. Great location but no dedicated parking so need to park on street.

Excellent restaurant. The sushi & sashimi is always high quality and the service is friendly and efficient. Sozo is a small place, so it does not have a huge selection of fish. But what they do offer has been excellent. And their fish varies from day to day a well. This is my 4th visit on the past six weeks. Each time I have also asked for off-menu items(like an eel with cucumber hand roll) and they have been happy to accommodate me. The Bunraka blue bottle sake is great(and the bottle is beautiful! I have four of them now). I have eaten at some of the best sushi places in New York and Boston. Sozo is among the best.

This is probably the best sushi place on Wilton drive. Everything is amazing and fresh. It’s very small and intimate which makes for great sushi. There is also seating outside which makes nice for people watching. I definitely go here every chance I get. Can’t go wrong. Great for a first date!

What an amazing meal I just had! This place is exactly what a Sushi restaurant should be: all about the sushi. The cuts of fish are fantastic, the focus is on the sushi bar, and the food is unique, simple, and really all about the quality. The green tea is leaves brewed to order. I haven’t tried the Sake yet, so can’t comment. It’s just so hard to find a place that is really a sushi conisoir’s place for sushi since there seems to be a sushi or sushi/thai/whatever place on every corner these days with a million rolls on the menu, spicy mayo sauce, crazy flying fish and eel platters, etc. that I was VERY excited to have found Sozo. The location in Wilton Manors is very nice and it makes for a terrific atmosphere. Hopefully I can update this review if/when I have a chance to try their sake. I highly recommend checking this place out for its wonderful food, lovely appearance, and very unique experience.

Small, boutique style sushi bar with chic décor and a small, simple menu. Sushi chef will create a roll suited to your taste provided the ingredients are available. Outdoor patio is available, however, follows size of inside dining area(on the smaller size). Higher priced than larger sized Sushi Bars, but the quality of food and ingredients definitely live up to the price you’ll pay. Fish is fresh and not fishy tasting(like low quality fish is). Seared Tuna salad(see posted photo) was very nicely done! The Sozo and Fierce! were also quiet tasty.

Stopped by with some friends to show them what great sushi they have. I love the sozo roll and the clean tranquil spot they have created. Although i can manage making many cuisines, Sushi is not one of them. Always looking forward to returning here.

Various combinations of my friends and I had been walking by this tiny, little place for months and saying, ‘We really need to stop in there some time.’ We finally did. First off, know that the place is tiny, tiny, tiny but very cute and intimate. I think there might only be 10 – 12 seats inside — including three or four tall chairs located right up at the sushi bar so that you can watch every order being handmade by the owners. There’s a few tables outside, too. But, the place is really small. Just know that. For appetizers, the three of us split some edamame and a seaweed salad and both were wonderful. I could have made an entire meal from the seaweed salad. Really good. For dinner, we shared three rolls: Sozulicious roll, S&M roll and a Princess roll. All were excellent, well prepared and quite generous in size. And we requested that brown rice be used in all of our rolls, too, and the flavors still held up great. This place is small, yes, but that’s actually a plus. Really relaxing environment in which to enjoy skillfully prepared, authentic sushi. Definitely will be going back again and again and again.

After all the crappy Thai sushi I’ve eaten since moving to South Florida, What a blessing it was to find Sozo Sushi Bar. The space is small but comfortable, the staff is friendly and the food extremely delicious. I normally get the Omakse as I can never make up my mind, And if they have fresh scallops I make sure to get two pieces of sushi as well. So far my greatest find on Wilton Drive!

Where to start, you know it’s legitimate sushi when the crab roll has REAL crab in it. All items where delicious. The hosts are great, sweet, super friendly and welcoming. Only 5 small tables and maybe 5 seats at the bar: very Tokyo. My asian friends kept telling me about this place and I didn’t listen, now I know ;) …totally coming back

It’s the best sushi in Fort Lauderdale. The Japanese family that runs the restaurant is friendly and makes a great product. The sushi master behind the counter knows his craft and always greets you with a smile. I’ve found that my best choices there have been to go with the chef’s choice sushi and sashimi. I’ve never been led down the wrong path and it always represents the absolute freshest and best sushi available for the day. The specialty rolls get a bit crazy, but are always delicious. The ceviche is not something you’d typically find at a sushi restaurant, but it’s an amazing way to start your meal, as is their excellent miso soup. It should be noted that they have a nicely chosen selection of sake, along with beer and wine. I enjoy sitting outside in nice weather to get some people watching in for dessert…

Great little sushi bar on Wilton drive. Food: 4 stars! But only because the rolls could have been tighter. Enjoyed the ceviche, fresh & tangy, also enjoyed the crab shumai. They have a nice selection of rolls, with great names that fit the area, our favorite being the S&M roll(salmon & mango). The lemon zest made this roll very unique and delicious. We also were introduced to cloudy saki, which went well with the food, you must try it. The interior is small, but quaint. The service is excellent, we enjoyed talking with the owner. Great find on Unilocal!Keep up the good service, we will return.

Good Quality. Unique Rolls. Loose rice. Nice little sushi place on Wilton Drive with some interesting offerings on the menu, a fair price, good quality fish, and good service. 2 people — Edamame, Ceviche, 4 rolls, and 2 pieces of toro tuna for $ 69. Sit outside for good people watching. My only complaint was 2 of the rolls fell apart so easily. I’m fairly skilled with chopsticks and I had a little trouble getting it to my mouth without losing some fish of mango or something.

Of all the sushi bars we have in South Florida, Sozo is tops on my list, particularly since they do such an excellent job on their sashimi which I tend to prefer over the typical pressed onto vinegared rice sushi dishes. I love the small friendly easy going atmosphere as well as the perfectly prepared tasty foods. The seaweed salad is one of the best, the monk fish liver unique, rich and tasty, the octopus so simple yet so good, the eel totally greaseless, and the fatty tuna-toro being of the real, best and most tasty cut that can only be had from the belly of the tuna. Yes, I’ve had them all and then some. Being small and located on «The Drive» of Wilton Manors, in the very heart of the«Gayborhood,» it attracts a pleasant rather quiet but very mixed loyal dining crowd of both gays and straights; with neither seeming to predominate or, for that matter, being all that noticeably different of a mix or group that you’d see on Las Olas. For the quality of the sashimi(not their sushi, though it is also very good) and its simple casual yet pleasing atmosphere, Five Stars.
