Nice décor and friendly staff but the food I had was not good. I went with a bunch of friends so we all shared — we had: empandas, quacamole, all the tacos, pernil, patatas bravas, flan, chocolate cake, and tres leches. The cocktails were good but everything else was really disappointing! Empandas were dry, quacamole was liquidity, the tacos were dry and bland, pernil dry and bland are you seeing a pattern? The desserts were just okay but nothing special.

LOVED the food here. Great tapas and very friendly service. Can’t wait to go back! Honestly, my only real disappointment was that we were too full to have anything after three tapas dishes and a bottle of wine. I think the only downside is their location. Hopefully, enough people will go that this won’t be a concern for them.

First off, Babaloo is a restaurant with great potential. The décor is warm, colorful and inviting and the booths and ambiance cozy. Our server was attentive and kind. The menu is eclectic and interesting and everything sounded delicious. My only confusion lay in the fact that my dining partner and I both realized a large portion of what we were eating lacked a couple things: Salt and seasoning. It was so obvious that we wondered if maybe the chef was having an off night? The presentation and food LOOKED good, just some of it lacked flavor and was bland. Starting with the guac, which I always use as a measure at Latin restaurants, it was a bit watery and tasteless. It was served with tostones, which, though delicious, I needed to salt along with the guac. Even the tortilla chips lacked flavor. I thought it was just me until my dining companion commented on the lack of salt. We split the pork quesadilla, which was good, and the pork had nice seasoning to it. My tacos were also fairly tasty, due to the sauces provided with them. No complaints there. The spicy chicken was delicious and had a nice kick. By far the most delicious thing was the deep fried chilies with sea salt. They were just slightly oily with a generous sprinkling of salt. The portion was substantial and I brought some home and shared it with my boyfriend, who also thoroughly enjoyed them cold even. My companion ordered the steak burrito and it was alright — again, not much seasoning or salt or flavor. I really like this place due to its location and its lovely ambience — I live in South Salem, NY and there aren’t many Mexican/Latin joints near us — just hope that they can tweak their seasoning and flavor up a bit. Especially with Latin food, you would expect a variety of spices and seasoning to be prevalent.

Love it. Spicy corn on cob, soft tacos, tasty cocktails. Great music inside, staff moves fast and is very friendly. All of my dinner guests loved it.

Stopped for a cocktail and small plate en route to show in Ridgefield. Guacamole was homemade with nice chunks of avocado. Mussels delicious too. Nice, attentive staff at bar. Definitely going to be a favorite place of Ridgefield Redding Wilton folks

Babaloo is a really fun addition to the Ridgefield culinary scene. The mostly latin menu is unique, and the food tastes fresh, wholesome, and delicious. We received excellent service, and cocktails were also very good. I would wholeheartedly recommend Babaloo as an alternative to all of the other New American place in town.

Service was still great as it was when it was Bistro Seven. We had the Gonzalez y Gonzalez drink and it was pretty strong and tasty. The guacamole was seasoned just right and served w tostones and/or tortillas. We had a taco sampler of the baja fish, chorizo, chicken and brisket Nd they were all delicious! My only complaint is they were a little too small. Will I be back? YES! And looking forward to trying out the other yummy entrees on the menu.

I’m extremely picky when it comes to restaurants but I was really impressed with Babaloo. I loved the ambiance of the place. The music and the décor was fab! I had a variety of tacos, guacamole(with plantains), mussels(the sauce was insane!!!) and all of it was SO yummy. For dessert I had the fried ice cream which was to die for. Their drink list is great too! I will definitely be back.

My cousin and I are just leaving Babaloo and were torn. We will start with the pros: the food was absolutely delicious, the live Spanish music was enchanting and crated a great atmosphere. However, the cons seem to outweigh the pros: the place was understaffed and over packed, so overpacked that it was hot enough for our flustered server’s shirt to be soaked with sweat. Also, we waited about two hours after ordering our food to finally receive it. Our margaritas were not that good(no salt on rim!) and finally, but not least, we were surprised with a deceiving offer. See picture. Anyone would think they are receiving what the coupon states, but no, the coupon is put in a «raffle» for the possibility to win! So do go if you have about 5 hours to grab dinner, the food is great!
