Same experience as others. Not the cut your own tree experience I was expecting. Very nice, helpful friendly staff though! They have a bunch of activities for the little ones including some farm animals out to look at & pet.

Ok, so I am conflicted. Pros: Cute gift shop, some outdoor toys for kids, a small barn with animals(including baby sheep!), free cocoa, coffee and popcorn Cons: Not really a place to cut your tree unless you love Douglas fir(all most exclusively what they grew). Cut Noble firs were available, but we came for the«cut it down» experience. And while staff were friendly, no one had answers to questions except the manager. When we asked him the process he handed us a saw and told us to just cut one down. The problem is almost all of the trees were either bush sized or 12′ tall. Cutting the taller ttee from the middle might work for some, but I was holding the baby and the two preschoolers are not much help. Really would have liked to support a local business but it looks like we will be heading to Apple Hill instead like we normally do. If they start to have noble firs available we will give this place another try.

Cute little place to bring your kids– but not a place for getting the perfect Christmas tree. This year, all trees were either straight up bushes or 18 feet tall! Nothing in between. All Douglas fir.

This place is so wonderful we came here in hopes to cut down a tree. i think we might have come a late in the season or were just weren’t very good at picking out trees to cut. But luckily there were beautiful trees that were precut for us to buy. The staff was so friendly and helpful they wrapped and put the tree on the car for us no charge! There was complementary hot cocoa and the prices were very reasonable!!!

Today was my first time going to billys I wish I came here years past. The experience is amazing! They have outstanding customer service. After going to 3 different lots and being extremely disabled at the selection and prices of the trees. We finally decided to go to billys and we are glad we did. We fell in love with our tree. They have the best trees ever! I highly recommend it. They are gorgeous! I will definitely be coming back next year and the year after that for our tree.

First time here. Great family Christmas tree farm close to Elk Grove. Love the service, friendly staff & experience! Offers free hot chocolate, cider & popcorn, has a little petting area with sheep & lambs for the kids, & sells both pre-cut & cut down your own Christmas trees. Will definitely come back next year. Tree cost more that I’ve spent in the past but love to support small, family owned businesses in the neighborhood. Plus I enjoyed the experience!

If I were to give stars based solely on tree selection, I would only give 3 stars. Billy’s farm offers more than just tree selection. You can take advantage of the tractor rides, hot chocolate or cider, and they even tie down your tree for free! A great lot to meander through. Don’t forget to grab a saw and a little tow cart for the tree! Not the best selection or prices, but it’s all about the«experience»!!

I went today and even though it was muddy as high heaven, my daughter and I had a great time. We cut our own tree for a fair price. The crew was kind enough to tie it to our car real secure. They had nice ladies providing free hot chocolate, popcorn, and other items as well as selling a few teddy bear Christmas themed goods. They were kind enough to provide a fee hay ride through the wetland. They gathered other children in response to my daughter’s request, which I thought was very nice. My only constructive criticism is that they did not offer to or clean up my tree stump in preparation to put it in my stand. I had to saw off pieces and straighten out when I got home. Overall nice job! We will be back again next year.

Excellent selection of Christmas trees! This is our second year of purchasing our tree from Billy’s Farm and we’ll definitely be back next year, the year after and so on. It’s worth the trek to visit the farm to check out the wide selection of trees. The staff is very helpful and friendly which in my book, goes a long way these days. They even have a pretty decent selection of pre-cut trees. We bought a beautiful pre-cut 6ft Fraiser Fir and it’s the freshest tree I’ve ever seen or smelled — at an awesome price. Cheaper than the lots in east Sac. They even offer free hot cocoa and coffee. The guys trimmed the trunk for a fresher cut, wrapped it in a net and carried to our car. See you next year Billy’s Farm and Merry Christmas!

A trek to the Davis Ranch Christmas tree farm in Sloughhouse has always been something to look forward to every December. But during the last two years, the farm has gone downhill… the quality of available trees has diminished, prices have gone up, and it’s really easy to find yourself competing with Hummer driving wolves if you’re there at wrong time. So this year, we decided to drive five minutes past Davis Ranch and go to Wilton — home of the nudist colony of Laguna del Sol and Billy’s Christmas Tree Farm. Needless to say, we were there for the Christmas trees! The farm is a haven for us clothing preferred Christmas tree seekers. They have Monterey pines, Bishop pines, and California cypresses. The selection is pretty large and you’re not left competing for the last remains of the good trees with a bunch of people. They provide you with a saw and a wagon to carry your tree back. In addition, they will shake off the dead pine needles, put a net on the tree, and tie it to your car — services not offered at Davis Ranch. The prices are reasonable — at $ 5 per foot. And for those who want to commit the ultimate sin of getting your tree flocked, you’re in luck because they offer it as well. In addition, they have free coffee(not organic or fair trade… but when you’re there, put pressure on them to offer it… like I did), hot chocolate, popcorn(i would have been pushing it if I asked for organic here, so I retreated). Free hay rides were offered as well. They also had farm animals for petting and purchase. Overall, the experience was great and it is great to have a locally available option other than Davis Ranch. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The missing star is for the over-butchering of the pines and cypresses in an attempt to make them look triangular. The cutting was overkill and left a lot of trees bare(no pun intended). In case you’re wondering, Billy’s Farm is NOT clothing-optional or affiliated with Laguna del Sol.
