My boyfriend and I stayed here one night before heading up to Sugarloaf for a ski trip and were very happy with our stay. The night we were there the inn was booked full with tons of families with elementary school aged kids. We expected for it to be noisy with the large number of kids staying in the hotel but we were pleasantly surprised to find that our room was quiet and no one was disruptive after hours. Breakfast was great with a mini buffet including scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff was super friendly and accommodating, it had snowed the night we stayed at the inn and when we got to our car after checking out, we found someone from he hotel cleaning the snow off our car.

Pretty darn nice for the price! They have a great breakfast spread, very clean rooms, and even had individual freshly baked cookies upon our arrival! They also had a full crockpot of yummy soup for any guest at their convenience! We came here because hotels for the Sugarloaf marathon @ Sugarloaf were $ 800/night– this is worth the money saved and the extra 45 minute drive to the race.

sadly, this was a very straightforward experience, unlike many. they had a hot breakfast, the only place they fail in is that they say they have deals on skiing, but you have to book ahead(like, they don’t store the tickets?), and they are not very close at all, given the roads ot the mountains that you ski on. But, bfast was ok, and I don’t remember much, so it was ok.

The Comfort Inn has one thing going for it: Unless you want to stay in a scummy motel, this is really the only hotel in the area. If it weren’t for this fact I would never stay here again. The entire hotel has a funny smell about it(but then so does the town). I try to to be overly snobby when it comes to something as petty as a color scheme but everything is yellow and brown. Pair the nasty smell with the unappealing colors and it feels less than welcoming. I was traveling on business so having WiFi in my room was essential. The WiFi here is free … and obviously for good reason. This is easily the slowest connection that I have ever experienced in all of my travels. It was so slow that I actually had a faster connection on my cell phone. On the bright side, at least there is a 24 hour business center that is available for those of us that might actually need to accomplish something … you just don’t get to do it in the comfort of your own room. The Comfort Inn gets points for a very friendly front desk staff. Check in was a breeze and the woman behind the counter was nothing but friendly and pleasant. If this was located anywhere else I would say, skip this place and stay elsewhere. However, of your lodging choices, this seems to be your best bet. If you’re in the area for skiing or visiting the University, this really isn’t all that bad. For the business traveler who desperately requires internet and a solid cell phone signal … it’s a real bummer.

I wanted to give props to this place for a few reasons. First of all, the front desk staff are so friendly and accommodating. We arrived in the middle of the night, desheveled and out of it. Orbitz/I had messed up my reservation, and they were very kind about figuring out what was going on and getting us the proper room. The hotel is fairly new, which is always nice, so everything seemed clean and fresh. It has up-to-date amemnities; i.e. flat screen TVs. The pool looks clean. I didnt’ go in it because there were 90000000000 children in it. They also offer a decent breakfast in the morning. Parking and finding this place are both easy. I’d highly recommend it as a cheap place to stay when skiing at Sugarloaf.
