I’m not one to go to crafts stores and this was my first time in this Michaels. I asked if I could split a purchase up into two purchases because I needed to use different cards for both, and the guy behind the register said, «Well… ok.» After the first purchase, I noticed a 40% off coupon printed out, so I asked if I could use it with the rest of the purchase. Instead of telling me that I couldn’t because it wasn’t good until next week, he responded, «I don’t know, does it say you can use it this week?» I told him that I didn’t know, and that if I couldn’t use it, he could have just told me instead of making me feel dumb for asking. «I suppose that’s true» was the answer I got. After the second part of the purchase, I told him that I felt like he was incredibly rude and that, even though this was only my first time at this Michaels, I wasn’t going to return. «I suppose that’s true.» Ridiculously uncaring customer«service».

I stopped in to purchase a cake caddy and cake circles. I’ve never shopped at Michaels before but I got a 50% coupon vaild for one item per visit. I thought is my opportunity to visit. I was told at check-out that the coupon is good for the higher price item. My coupon was scanned and«accepted». However the discount was not applied. I was then told there is currently baking sale«buy one get one 50% off» and that probably canceled my coupon. What??? I was then asked if I wanted to return the items and they can try the coupon again. But be warned the return price for the item is NOT the same as the purchase price. Again, what??? This is BAITANDSWITCH. I kept my purchases simply because I did not want to reward Michaels further. I will not be returning as any kind of customer. I cannot believe this store’s policy!

I’ve seen a bunch of negative reviews for this location with regard to service. My experience was different. I walked in and needed help with paint supplies and frames. A very nice salesperson helped me. She was knowledgable, offered excellent suggestions(some of which cost less money) and even gave me a piece of cardboard that I could use to properly prop up my canvas with a stand. I thought her level of service deserved a glowing review.

I will never go here again. I stopped in to have something framed and encountered the rudest person in the framing department. The customer he was working with at the moment did not look happy — I’m sure he was probably as rude to her as he was to me. It’s a shame since the other employees in the store were quite pleasant and I love Michael’s but after this trip, I will never shop there again. It’s worth the time and gas to go to AI Friedman in Port Chester, NY.

Unfortunately, the other reviewer is right. I’ve been in this store a handful of times and each time have had the exact same experience as stated previously. I’ve stopped going here and if I need something that Michael’s might have I get it online or someplace else. It’s really a shame.

So happy when Michael’s opened. The happiness has quickly faded. If you are lazy, slow or rude ask for an application to work here. This is the job for you! Besides the one helpful employee in Floral the rest of the staff including Managers don’t want you to shop here. Ask an employee where smething is located, «I don’t know» Ask an employee for help getting something off of a high shelf, «I will get a ladder» wait 10 minutes and they never come back! Finally find all you purchases by YOURSELF and go to checkout, the line is ALWAYS long and there is ALWAYSONLYONE person checking people out. Why have 8 registers if you don’t EVER plan on using them! So sorry this place ever opened! Hopefully they won’t be here for long!
