It’s the eggs, if they would spend a little more on decent eggs then they’d be better. It’s the white factory farmed watery tasteless eggs that are full of whatever that they use, yes they are cheap but they are nasty. It really spoils the sandwich. They also don’t really know how to make a decent B.L.T, at least have some freshly cooked bacon on it and not just burnt bacon sprinkles.

While up visiting my Grandma for Christmas, we needed a quick place to grab a sandwich and take with us to eat lunch with her. Tired of the regular subway options, I found this place and decided to try it out. I read some mixed reviews but when I arrived I was met with friendly service in a quick in and out style sandwich shop. They had a wide range of options suitable for everyone we were ordering for and nobody had any complaints. I ordered the turkey club which was a delicious triple decker sandwich filled with great taste! I will definitely be picking up food from The Sandwich Shoppe next time I’m up seeing Grandma again!

Not too bad. It’s small quick and easy. Prices aren’t bad, and it’s an upgrade from the standard chain. But no restrooms available? Even for customers?

After a quick search of local food spots for lunch turned up the Sandwich Shoppe I was pretty excited to eat here. However, after a quick glance at their menu I was relatively unimpressed. There was nothing particularly special and when I asked the cashier taking my order what was good she just mumbled and [pretended maybe?] that she didn’t speak English. I decided on one of the daily specials — an Italian on a roll(the cashier seemed to speak enough English to understand my order fine). After unwrapping my sandwich and taking a look I was really unimpressed — the top half was almost entirely composed of wilted lettuce. I took a bite anyways and it tasted okay. Other than the lettuce I had no real complaints but still had to come away with the impression that there is nothing special about this shoppe(despite its fancy name). Maybe mediocrity is celebrated here in Norwalk but I’m from NYC where food is highly critiqued and people making it have a passion to stand out. This just barely passes as a 3 star in my opinion…

No. I’ve given this place a couple of trys but each time I’ve left disappointed. Ordered a «hot pastrami» and was amazed when I opened it to see what I thought was a vegetarians dream… All Lettuce tomatoe and no meat. After playing a game of hide and seek I was able to finally locate the meat hiding under the bread on top of 4 inches of Lettuce. There’s nothing special about the pastrami it’s sliced and nothing about it was hot.

This is a really good place to get a deli sandwich. I didn’t realize how badly one could mess up a deli sandwich till I went to a famous small chain in the area. Very friendly here too. Really delicious and great combinations of ingredients for their sandwiches.

I read some of my fellow Unilocaler reviews and decided to try this spot because I had to be in Wilton for Girl Scout activities. I was sooo excited and called to order a menu since the online ordering option didn’t work. I had a daily special, eggplant and melted provolone with roasted peppers, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo on a wrap. I also ordered a delicious minestrone soup. The soup was hearty and chock full of yummy veggies! The eggplant was perfectly cooked and seasoned and HUGE… I didn’t require any of the usual accompaniments, no fries, no salad, nothing. My food was perfect. Yum squared!

3.5 tech but more a 4 than a 3 if I had to choose.

I hate to echo the reviews of others because it sounds like I don’t have anything orginal to say, but this place does in fact have really impressive sandwiches and other deli type stuff. We come here sometimes and get lunch when we’re looking for casual and quick.

I can’t believe no one else has reviewed this place! I found it nearly 1.5 years after I moved to the area and ate there at least once a week thereafter(until I moved to NYC). It is one of the best sandwich places I’ve ever been to. My favorite is 25H, which is warmed turkey and cheddar in a pita with avocado, sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, with herb butter. OHSOSCRUMPTIOUS. They are so generous with the ingredients. Also – they have the best macaroni salad I have ever tasted. There is always a line at lunchtime, so if you know what you want, call ahead and pick up.
