service was a little rushed. embarrassing that the woman behind the counter, chased after myself and my fiancé to retrieve a wrong order put in our bag. sour cream upon request was not even a DOLLOP of sour cream but a to-go container with drops in it. Chicken and cheese quesadilla left a lot to be desired. It was too simple just chicken and cheese… which i must say – chicken was seasoned well, but unfortunately the greasiness ruined the taste. salsa was very good. first time visiting, and unfortunately the last time. watched other customers get rushed through their orders as well. if you don’t want to serve the general public – get out of the service industry. i will not be back. I suggest not bothering.

I love the Burrito Shack. Decent prices and some of the best food to be found in the area. Everything I have tried from here has been absolutely delicious and has fulfilled my expectations, from the burritos to the quesadillas to the bagel chips. Not amazing Mexican food, but definitely the best in this area.

Top 3 worst burritos I’ve ever had. We stopped on the way home from Norwalk — let me help you not make the same mistake. Save your money — save your calories — save your time. Do NOT eat here if you’re hoping for anything resembling a quality food.

I have no idea what would cause someone to give a poor review of this place. I visit the Burrito Shack on the reg, and I am always blown away by their burritos. Portions are generous, with heft burritos that are sure to satisfy. Prices are reasonable, and you can customize your burrito any way you want. I highly recommend the pulled pork or the steak, or combine everything with«The Big One.» Also an amazing selection of gourmet, sear-your-tastebuds hot sauces, including Dave’s Gourmet and a handful of other reputable brands. If you don’t see it out, check the fridge by the counter or ask. Always very friendly, down to earth service with super laid back vibes. My favorite burrito place around.

Like the 2 other Unilocalers who have stopped here I was drawn in by the sign out front. Not the sign that says«The Burrito Shack», but the sign that reads«World’s Greatest Burritos». Now if a business owner has the cojones to put a sign out in front of his establishment that proclaims he has the world’s greatest whatever, then ya gotta figure there has to be some sort of truth to back up such a bold statement. So, I ventured inside, ordered a «world’s greatest» burrito and prepared my taste buds for what I hoped would result in a veritable burrito orgy inside my mouth. Unfortunately, what I received was a steaming-hot plate of Huge Disappointment with a side order of False Advertising. If the sign out front had read«World’s Worst Burrito» then it would be a lot closer to reality, and would have saved me from wasting my time and money here. So what makes a burrito great? First off, a great burrito isn’t comprised of 90% filler(rice and beans) and 10% sub-par meat. A great burrito should be all about the meat — lots of meat. It goes without saying that the meat should be fresh, marinaded just right and grilled to perfection. The tortilla and any other ingredients are only there to act as a vehicle to deliver said meat to ones gaping burrito hole. And what’s with the white rice? Tsk, tsk. A truly great burrito would never contain flavorless white rice. Instead it would contain just the right amount flavorful and delicious yellow rice(mmmmm, saffron!). And everyone knows that a variety of fresh salsas(in the form of a salsa bar) should be made available to all true burrito lovers. Until«T» decides to implement these critical burrito basics then I’m afraid he’ll never realize true burrito greatness.

If you’ve been reading my last few reviews, I’ve mentioned I spend a lot of time on Route 7. I noticed the hand-painted sign at the edge of the road, and thought to myself, «burrito shack, sounds like a dive.» Then I thought, «I’ve had some damn good food in dives.» So I stopped one afternoon, and was pleasantly surprised. The Shack is a small white building with not a lot of room inside to order, but the menu was not only that of a burrito place like Chipolte or Desert Moon, but also a full-blown deli. I was in the mood for a burrito(these are California-style with rice and beans inside), and the pulled pork option leaped out at me. I added black beans and medium salsa, grabbed a drink and started driving off to an errand, figuring I’d make it back to the office for my afternoon meeting. I got stuck in traffic about fifteen minutes later. There was an accident on my way to Staples, but never mind that. Seeing the opportunity, I unwrapped my lunch and dug in. The pork was deliciously tender and flavorful. I would have liked a little more spice in the rice, a touch more sour cream, and he forgot my guacamole, but I can forgive. For eight bucks, I got a hearty convenient meal that left me full until breakfast the next morning. And I did make it to my meeting.
