Hmm?! I feel like I should be wearing cowboy boots, and riding in on my horse. After all, I did see just that. In terms of taste, I tasted Mexican goodness in the form of sopes and caldo de res(beef soup)! It was delicious. I had Horchata that was refreshing and quenched my thirst. How could anyone find this place? You guessed it! Thanks Unilocal!Don’t know if I will be back in this area, but this place did not disappoint. In case, you are dying to go here when you are in the area, make sure you have cash!

Oh my goodness! Did I just click my boots, and go to Mexico? Feels like it. I’ve only been to Wimauma once for a Unilocal Event, The Unilocaltucky Derby! So I didn’t remember what to expect. The closest I could think of was Dade City, FL. We saw roosters so Mocha Coconut, my dog, was in heaven. We also saw a horse trotting down the street. After parking we heard Spanish music, danced a little bit to the counter, and ordered caldo DE res(beef soup) and sopes(they call it gorditas). Best Mexican food we have found here in Florida. So amazing beyond words. 5 stars makes sense. Can I have that 6 stars that they are talking about for this place? One of the ladies working the window was so nice. She asked where I was coming from. I told her I found her on Unilocal and she had 5 stars. She said she doesn’t get to see that, but she felt honored, and stated others had told her the same. Such a sweet lady. It looks as if whomever owns it lives in the back. This place is great and definitely off the beaten path! Love love!!!

Excellent food, order @ window sit inside or out. Best authentic Mexican food. We stopped after mountain biking @ Alaphia as it came highly recommended from others @ the park. Glad we stopped, it’s a home in the wall but definitely worth it, and cheap.

OMG… the best authentic Mexican food outside of Mexico itself! The chips and guacamole are both homemade and DELICIOUS! I mean, c’mon now… who makes their own chips these days? They were fantastic! They were light and crunchy– the way a chip should be. We also ordered tostadas and a burrito with rice and beans. You’ve got to try the cantaloupe juice– it was unbelievable! Everything was amazing. We will definitely be back. The outdoor ambience was so great– they have roosters and chickens walking about in the side yard and true Mexican music playing outside. There is a screened in section for eating or you could eat outdoors on a covered picnic table. LOVED it!

The best Mexican in Florida! Seriously amazing prices, authentic food, great staff and the food not only authentic, but perfectly prepared everytime. The chimichanga(chicken) will blow away anything you have ever tasted! Nothing short of a good way to blow your diet and make it count. It’s outdoor seating with wood benches. It’s not fancy and more of a stand, but don’t let that keep you away… go for the food!

The food is amazing and very well priced. Just, be sure to bring cash. My favorite dish is the tamales, but so far by boyfriend and I haven’t found anything on their menu that was anything less than spectacular. They are open pretty much ALLTHETIME; we even went on Easter. To clarify, I do not mean that they are 24 hours. According to TBO’s interest article on the place they are open 8am-10pm which is pretty generous. Here’s a link to the article I’m referencing if you care to read more about this amazing stand and the woman behind the window:

Since we moved here from South Texas, we have been on a search for what we call«real Mexican food». That has been a difficult task in the Tampa area until we found this gem. It is the closest we have found in Tampa, just for that I gave it 4 stars. Some pros: Al Pastor was on point! Great taste, you could tell the corn tortillas were home made. Carne Asada was tastefully seasoned. Salad they offer with meals was fresh and different. Barracho Beans were offered with the meal and absolutely the best thing we had! Perfect! Some cons: Corn tortillas were cold and soggy. We did come at the end of the day so maybe that’s why. Carne Asada came out as one big piece and they do not offer knives. Luckily my hubby had a pocket knife handy to cut it up. Cons can defiantly be looked past, we will for sure be back to enjoy more yummy items!

Thanks to my mom for helping me find this. Taco Bell will never be a part of my diet again. This place is amazing! It’s definitely not a typical restaurant setting but I have always liked that«hole in the wall» feeling especially when it’s powered by delicious food.

Hands down the best tacos I’ve had in Tampa. The place is a drive for me since I live in Tempe Terrace but when I’m craving good Mexican food this is the place. My wife had the chimichanga which was massive and good every bite. They serve a mango juice there that you have to drink really fresh. We both had dinners with soda and the mango juice for less than $ 15 so that makes up for the drive.

Finally good mexican near Tampa. Previous reviewer is right, go for the food, get a cold drink, and sit outside with the best mexican around. There are also other great places in the area, so explore.

Best Mex in the Tampa Bay area; best tacos in the TB area, with FRESHMADETORTILLAS that melt in your mouth. Now don’t go there expecting much in the way of ambiance. There is none. It’s outdoor dining, in the heat, among the flies, it’s a hole in the middle of nowhere. But if you care about REAL Mexican food, you will go there and thank me. If you don’t care about REAL Mexican food, you will go to Taco Bus like all the other morons.
