Highpoint Manor

If I could rate Highpoint Manor a million and one stars, I would!
I had an awful, stressful week. My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from everything without having to drive 4 hrs to a shitty beach, go to a wanna-​be Las Vegas… yadda yadda.
We called at about 6:30pm on Friday night; Jay answered the phone. I immediately asked if they were dog friendly (I’d called a few other places and one of the people I talked to told me to try them). He said «sure, yeah! We LOVE animals here!» After speaking with him about other amenities (yes, they have Wifi and fireplaces and swings on their front porches) we decided to stay there for two nights.
We got there at about 8pm. We came in from Hwy 12, and passed the road initially but recognized the road as soon as we drove past. Not hard to get to. Use the address as San Marcos, not Wimberley, TX and you’ll find it on your phone’s GPS no problemo.
Jay was the nicest, most friendly… employee? Ranch hand? Groundskeeper? EVER. He greeted us warmly, showed us into the main house, explained the breakfast «schedule» (8−9am) and briefly showed us the property. Although it was dark, we could tell the property was gorgeous. Jay made a point to ask if either of had any dietary restrictions. Boyfriend said «I like bacon. A lot.» Jay made sure both days he had plenty of bacon.
After paying, he showed us to our… cottage/​house. Jay didn’t so much as bat an eye when my two dogs, one of which is hyper as all get out, loves people, will lick you to death, weighs 65lbs and is… special… ran rampant with excitment around the front yard. We stayed in Larkspur. IT WAS FABULOUS.
We showed up a bit late to breakfast both Sat and Sun AM — neither of which times they seemed to mind (we called Sunday to check, as it was nearing 9:30) The owner, Barbara, helps Jay in the kitchen in the mornings. Jay’s biscuits and gravy is AMAZING. I don’t care for biscuits and gravy. HIS ARE FLIPPIN’ DELISH.
Come here. Bring your fur-​children. Eat delicious breakfast. Leave relaxed. Stay here. Unless you’re looking for a high-​stress environment, you will NOT leave disappointed. I CANNOT STRESS OR USE CAPS LOCK ENOUGH TO ARTICULATE HOW WONDERFUL OUR STAY WAS. It’s not a matter of if we’ll be back, it’s when.

Stayed a night here after randomly picking a place to lodge off of the internet. It is a little hard to find. However, you will feel right at home once you get there. The owner, Barbara, also happens to make some of the best cottage cheese pancakes I have ever had.
