I’ll let you decide: Tonight I find a piece of carved duck art priced at $ 165. I personally believe prices in life are generally negotiable, ESPECIALLYART. I place the item on the counter and politely ask the middle aged bald/shaved head salesman what price he could do on it. He immediately offers a $ 10 discount at $ 155 and proceeds to help another shopper. A few minutes later I say«How about $ 150 and I’ll take it»(a reasonable 10% off). He looks me square in the eyes with a straight face and says«Do you negotiate prices at Wal-Mart and HEB?» I say something like«yes I negotiate on lots of things I buy». He pauses and says«Well the $ 155 sale is off, I changed my mind… price is back to $ 165». He then proceeds to whine to me about how he’s a «small guy» and I guess I should feel sorry for him. We exchange a few more words and I tell him well I guess you’ve lost this sale and turn around and walk out.
